After hearing about it so many times, I decided to give the popular Singaporean snack, the kaya toast, a try. Kaya is actually a special coconut jam, served on toasted bread. I ordered a set that includes cream cheese, soft-boiled eggs with soy sauce and white pepper for dipping and freshly brewed coffee. Now, I can understand the hype. I liked the mix of flavors - sweetness from the kaya and saltiness from the eggs - and the combination of textures.

Had this Fish Ball noodle soup this lunch. I don't know why it tasted bland for me. I remembered my friend recommending this dish at Toast box. But meh. But maybe will be back to try their other dishes.

So far they make the best kaya toast and teh. Love also their Laksa and Misiam. If their soft boiled eggs are under cooked or well done, their willing to replace it

The ambience is great. The service was fast.We ordered the Laksa, Hainanese chicken, and Barley drink. My favorite among the 3 was the hainanese chicken. It tasted like what it was supposed to be but I was disappointed that the chicken was a little tough than what I was used to. Overcooked? The condiments that come with the chicken were limited, too. I loved the vegetable broth that came with the chicken. It didn't taste artificial and I hope it wasn't! Haha. - 4/5 for this dishI am so used to prepacked laksa that tastes great. When it comes to laksa made from scratch, I don't think I have much of an opinion. Haha. This one had a "seafood-y" taste to the soup (prepackaged is "coconut-y"). There were large pieces of shrimp. The noodles were alright. Overall, a 4.5/5 for my liking because I'm allergic to seafood. Hahaha. The barley drink was something new for me. It was like a healthier version of boba tea. I'd recommend this! - 5/5!

Curry is fast becoming my go-to comfort food of recent. And when i want curry, one of the first places i think of is Toast Box. Its Singaporean-style chicken curry with its coconut milk-laden gravy and generous serving is enough to soothe and calm the most tumultuous of spirits. Served hot, the thick, slightly spicy broth is a balm against cold weather and misery. Bite into the moist and tender chicken flesh, followed by a spoonful of soft, fragrant rice, and be transported to a place akin to nirvana. Wash this all down with a refreshing glass of fresh squeeezed lemonade.
