We've been here one stormy evening for a quick dinner. As expected, there weren't too many diners that night because of the inclement weather. The place is typical of a Pinoy diner -- minimal designs, sterile white walls, and metal tables and cushioned seats. We scanned the menu and placed our orders for tapsilog, hotpot and sizzling porkchop. There are also a lot of attractive offerings such as bangus and barbecue. Good Ah!!! also offers unlimited rice servings for those who have big appetites.

Ordered through food panda during lunch time and the service was surprisingly fast. Also one of our go to munchstop during the wee hours.Their menu's taste differs. I guess it's because of the one who's in charge to prepare the meal. Sometimes they serve really delicious meals and sometimes you'll just want to throw it all up. Overall it's an okay place to eat if you are on a budget.

My memories of Goodah started in my elementary years. Our family used to frequent the now defunct Greenhills branch. We go after jogging/running around the area. The prices are still friendly and this despite a more welcoming ambiance and air-condition. The menu has deviated from mostly Lugaw to other Filipino favorites. Tapa seems to be the banner dish now.Their Lugaw now is Chinese style with lots of water. It used to be more dense. The Filipino taste is still very much present though. I didn't appreciate though the small chicken piece and lots of pork skin on my Arroz Caldo. The Pares lacked star anise flavor and tasted like Bistek. Too much other beef parts too that were rubbery and hard to chew. What stood out was their generous serving of Garlic Kangkong at Php 59. Even if it was hard to eat with long stems, this one satisfied.

Was not satisfied with my first dining experience here. First about their service. When my boyfriend and I was there, there were only few people eating so we were expecting that all our requests would be granted as soon as possible. However, it seems that all the servers were busy with other stuff so it took a lot of time for them to address to our needs. Second, my boyfriend ordered their Sizzling Porkchop. From the word itself, SIZZLING, when it was served it wasn't sizzling at all! My boyfriend felt the coldness of the gravy of the porkchop and it was too salty! Plus, the porkchop was so thin it's as if you are eating a bacon. Third, I ordered their Nilagang Baka. Well to be fair, their Nilagang Baka was good for two and tastes ok. However, again, there were only small bits of beef! I think it's only 6-7 pieces. Plus, if you are used of eating Nilaga Baka while you have calamansi and soy sauce on the side, do not think about it! It's salty already! TOO SALTY. 😐 Hayyy. Last, I ordered their Ube Con Hielo. Okay, that's a good dessert actually. It's like an ube ice cream dissolved in crushed ice. It's not sweet but good as dessert.

As a kid growing up in Greenhills/San Juan, I used to go to Goodah a lot especially in the evenings. I still remember their branch in Annapolis (or was it Connecticut), eating bowls of Lugao and plates of tapsilog will sitting on stools. No aircon needed. I used to really love this place. The Goodah of 2016 is not the same. The food isn't just mediocre, it's actually quite bad. It lacked flavor most of the time. The arroz caldo is redeemed by the chicharon, but it was too salty. The bistek was full of fat (litid). The sizzling porkchop was mostly bone and bland. Forget nostalgia, folks. This is not the Goodah we once loved.
