Tateyama is a town located in Toyama, Japan which is what the restaurant is named after based on their logo. This place is not seen immediately since it's situated at the second floor above Mr. Park's at Fort Strip. The place has an authentic Japanese vibe and the ambiance is really quiet. We've ordered the following:-> Their 'Salmon Sashimi' is cut in an unusual way. I'm used to eating sashimi cut in small sizes but this one's kind of larger and in a different shape. The sashimi tastes fresh and the dipping sauce is good as well.-> The crunchiness of the 'Tempura' was so-so. The batter was to my liking and shrimps are well cooked though.-> The 'Teriyaki Chicken Don' rice bowl has tender chicken and tasty teriyaki sauce. There was an ample amount of rice.I think the food is too expensive given that the servings are little. Hoping to comeback for their yakitori and sushi though, I might update this review.

Very decent yakitori place. Chicken and leeks are juicy and already very filling. Butabara is okay - more meat than fat which is great. Both are flavorful enough to eat without dipping sauce.

The meal started well but as the sumibiyaki sticks came in waves after some time the quality quickly deteriorated. The chicken was dry and tough, pork bacon wraps too fatty and beef had lots of tendon as well as fat. Tempura order did not come and had to cancel, think they forgot. After the meal I saw the chef after grilling the sticks put them in a Microwave to finish cooking! No wonder they were dry and not as good as you would expect.

Craving for authentic Japanese cuisine? Drop by Tateyama located at the Fort Strip BGC. They have been open for almost 3 years now and it is my first time to visit them considering I just work in BGC.Why Tateyama? Originated from Mount Tate, commonly referred to as simply “Tateyama”, is a mountain located in the southeastern area of Toyama Prefecture, Japan. They only have one branch but hopefully they open more as this is a really good restaurant. The place is quite big, quiet, lovely interiors and super nice staff. For the ambience and service, I give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The food was excellent. I love all of them. I’m also giving them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Their Sumibiyaki are the best sellers (charcoal grilled dishes). They also serve sake/rice wine which they import from japan. You’ll love their matcha dessert! One of the best i’ve tasted. Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They actually have a promo now. Eat all you can for only 595 pesos from 5pm-10pm daily. Just make sure there won’t be any left overs ✌🏻

Food - 2/5Ambiance - 2.5/5Not recommended:Robatayaki Gyu (cubed beef) - meat was too tough and did not taste great. The 2 items we ordered, negima and Gyu, from their robatayaki selection were too salty. The soup of the soba dish tasted like egg soup.Sad.. Not recommending this place. The interiors of the place was nice but their choice of music wasn't.
