Tateyama is a town located in Toyama, Japan which is what the restaurant is named after based on their logo. This place is not seen immediately since it's situated at the second floor above Mr. Park's at Fort Strip. The place has an authentic Japanese vibe and the ambiance is really quiet. We've ordered the following:-> Their 'Salmon Sashimi' is cut in an unusual way. I'm used to eating sashimi cut in small sizes but this one's kind of larger and in a different shape. The sashimi tastes fresh and the dipping sauce is good as well.-> The crunchiness of the 'Tempura' was so-so. The batter was to my liking and shrimps are well cooked though.-> The 'Teriyaki Chicken Don' rice bowl has tender chicken and tasty teriyaki sauce. There was an ample amount of rice.I think the food is too expensive given that the servings are little. Hoping to comeback for their yakitori and sushi though, I might update this review.

Very decent yakitori place. Chicken and leeks are juicy and already very filling. Butabara is okay - more meat than fat which is great. Both are flavorful enough to eat without dipping sauce.

The meal started well but as the sumibiyaki sticks came in waves after some time the quality quickly deteriorated. The chicken was dry and tough, pork bacon wraps too fatty and beef had lots of tendon as well as fat. Tempura order did not come and had to cancel, think they forgot. After the meal I saw the chef after grilling the sticks put them in a Microwave to finish cooking! No wonder they were dry and not as good as you would expect.

Craving for authentic Japanese cuisine? Drop by Tateyama located at the Fort Strip BGC. They have been open for almost 3 years now and it is my first time to visit them considering I just work in BGC.Why Tateyama? Originated from Mount Tate, commonly referred to as simply “Tateyama”, is a mountain located in the southeastern area of Toyama Prefecture, Japan. They only have one branch but hopefully they open more as this is a really good restaurant. The place is quite big, quiet, lovely interiors and super nice staff. For the ambience and service, I give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The food was excellent. I love all of them. I’m also giving them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Their Sumibiyaki are the best sellers (charcoal grilled dishes). They also serve sake/rice wine which they import from japan. You’ll love their matcha dessert! One of the best i’ve tasted. Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They actually have a promo now. Eat all you can for only 595 pesos from 5pm-10pm daily. Just make sure there won’t be any left overs ✌🏻

Food - 2/5Ambiance - 2.5/5Not recommended:Robatayaki Gyu (cubed beef) - meat was too tough and did not taste great. The 2 items we ordered, negima and Gyu, from their robatayaki selection were too salty. The soup of the soba dish tasted like egg soup.Sad.. Not recommending this place. The interiors of the place was nice but their choice of music wasn't.

Had decent Japanese food here. The sashimi set with tuna and salmon was quite good and Instagram worthyTekka Maki with tuna was good too. Grilled eggplant was ok. Pickled cucumber with kombucha was a good appetizer

They close late in the evening. Food is delicious and their Php 1200 set meal is worth it - taste and serving size - wise. Severs are nice too. I love the location since its away from the crowd of the Fort strip. Their salmon and uni Sashimi are fresh & sweet!

Place is huge. They have terrace seats. Food tastes great. I suggest to just get water when you order their sushis as the sweetness of soda or juice, dampens the flavor of the sushi.

I ordered the Spicy Salmon appetiser, tamago and the ebi roll thing. The spicy salmon was so small, and the salmon wasn’t fresh, tasted fishy. The tamago was hot and was just scrambled eggs in rectangular slices. And the ebi roll had salmon on top which was also not fresh.

NEW PROMO ALERT! enjoy their ala carte buffet for just 595PHP (+SC) every night from 6-10pm - i promise you, this is worth EVERY penny you shell out. i'm talking an abundance of sumibiyakis (meats on sticks that are cooked in a charcoal grill), sushi makis, tempura, agemonos and *dynamic* side dishes that will drown you in savory japanesy goodness!this resto is the only one of it's kind in the PH and they serve authentic japanese cuisine cooked in the traditional japanese way - their chef and GM are home-grown japanese and the fact that our japanese foreign friends dine here makes it bona fide, legit jap food.we started the course off w/ their side dishes - these 3 small cups of joy were the prelude to a fantastic dinner. each bite was just lovely, i wanted a refill right away of the gingered beef stew, the cabbage slaw and the pickled vegs, but then my brain was like "hold on lil girl, they're deploying more food from the kitchen.". the sushi makis were next and my mouth devoured it like a cotton ball, i couldnt see the justice to make it a 2-bite maki so i forgone the thought of choking and gave in to my tummy's yearning. the best one for me was the california maki and the vegetable maki, the japanese mayo was just nummy!them shrimp tempura, kakakiage, gyoza, karage and tonkatsu said hello, hello. the tonkatsu dipped in that tangy savory sticky sauce + the cabbage slaw made my knees weak (argh, delicious) and the karage was juicy crisp!came the sumibiyakis - yakitoris have the same cooking methods but it's only focused on grilling 'em chickens, as subimiyakis refer to cooking ALL 'em meat types basted in that dark savory marinade - each charred bite was an explosion of flavor. i chugged down that hearty miso soup to help cleanse my palate in order to down the rest of the course, water was good but this soup was better, like totally better. if you think THESE were the only viands we had for the 595PHP (+SC) ala carte buffet promo, huh, you're wrong, they have more w/c we no longer ordered because the Almighty only gave us a fist-sized belly, hence i couldnt take no more. refer to the attached pics for MORE food that's included in this oishi feast.
