We went here at around 9pm, few customers were there that time... the place was nice, its like an old house, with portraits and photos on walls... i thinks this place is good for gatherings... the food were also nice, we had the pork sisig, sinigang, grilled pork binagoongan and the crispy pata... im not really into pork but these food tastes good, even the sauce for crispy pata... staffs were also nice... over all its a nice place to eat with friends and the family...

Bagoong Club was one of the few hidden restaurants along the area of Tomas Morato. It was an old house converted to a restaurant that has different dining areas/room. This wasn't my first visit, but from the name itself, its the clue that they specializes or cook their own bagoong, and at the same time a Filipino restaurant.I remember my first time to be here (a few years ago) we ordered a bagoong sampler which was served with mangoes and jicama. (Pesto bagoong, sweet, spicy, i forgot the other 2) I remembered it clearly that it was unlimited jicama and mango sticks with that sampler.Presently, we just had our dinner here again. So we got Crispy Hipon, Kare Kareng Gulay, and Binagoongan.Crispy Hipon was their version of nilasing na hipon. Small, headless shrimps was fried to crisp together with sweet potato fries. It was good, well seasoned, crispy minus the spiky heads that can poke your mouth. It was served with seasoned Coco vinegar (if i'm not mistaken) that was fragrant. It was just a perfect appetizer. The sweet potato was the perfect balancer.Kare Kareng Gulay was a 'meatless' version but with the same base. The kare kare sauce was fragrant and flavorful. It has strong hints of the roasted peanuts that gave it a nice hint of sweetness in the stock. The kare kare base was perfect to sauce up your rice. Thick, rich, and fragrant.Krispy Binagoongan. The fried pork was crispy but becomes tough after a while. I prefer it that they cut in a bit bigger to prevent all sides being overcooked that becomes tough. The sauce was fantastic. Sweet aroma of reduced coconut milk with the bagoong gave it a rich flavor. The sauce was just minimal. I prefer it to have more sauce than what is served.Bagoong club is part of my favorite Filipino restaurants in Manila. It has received numerous awards especially when they opened years ago. #TheFoodCrawlers #OngsFoodprints #TheLostDiego

This is my kind of restaurant - just real, honest, homey, good food. Sisig was unexpectedly good, the marinate / flavor itself was delicious and it combined crispy skin, liver, fat and meat. Our favorite is their Bulalong Monggo, really love the fact that it wasn't salty. Poqui poqui is also our favorite. Laing and fish sisig was ok. Kare kare seemed like well made but it might not suite the filipino's sweet taste buds.IG: FOODINSQUARESPH
