I miss this place. I have tasted most of the dishes and indi nakakasawa. You also get big servings when you buy take out near closing time which is really really great! The only thing is it's far from where I live :(

Quan Yin Chay is a vegetarian restaurant and has been a favorite since my childhood days. Its original branch is located along Soler st before moving to Masangkay, and now at Ongpin St.My mom offers to the gods some days of the month and this is where she gets all the vegetarian dishes she needs. Lately, this has been the only times we have the opportunity to eat their dishes.Quan Yin Chay offers a ton of dishes from real vegetables to mock meats to snacks both Filipino and Chinese. They try to reinvent local favorites into vegetarian versions. Some dishes I like are: sisig, menudo, afritada, and sweet and sour pork. I also love theur fried lumpia, barbecue, and raddish cake which can be sold per piece. They also serve Fresh Lumpia, but theirs is more wet.I like their offers better than other vegetarian restos because of the wide array of choices and the unsatiated tastes. Try to visit them and remember not to bring any meat inside to respect their religion and rules.

We found ourselves in Binondo a few weeks back and ordered afternoon merienda after zigzagging around the neighborhood. We were knackered. We were also too full to have a real vegetarian meal, so we had a peanut soup and their version of guinataan, which threw in some squash as well as the usual tubers and sticky rice balls into the coconut milk soup. It is a cafeteria style restaurant that has moved from the more obscure end of the block to a prime corner facing Ongpin St, so this is much easier to find. As a sign of respect, my good friend Dennis advises not to bring in any meat products, as Quan Yin is Buddhist vegetarian. It's a good tip. We will happily revise this review after our next visit. A full Quan Yin vegetarian meal is not far away from happening.

This resto have been around for long but the taste is still the same. A nice resto for vegetarians and veggie lovers. I recommend the 3 in 1, it comes with 3 viand with the choice of plain rice or kiampong. A nice meal that is within the budget.
