place have shared sufficient basement parking which insanely difficult in BGC. home grown Chinoy fookien food. simple interiors. staff lacking and bit lazy cant blame them customer traffic is slow hence freshness is food is sometimes below par. price is reasonable compared to all other high end chinese restaurant in bgc area. try crispy lemon chicken, beef with brocolli & classic all time favorite of any website the beloved yang chow fried rice

You learn something new everyday in the website world.  Last Wednesday while dining with website friends at Zhu, we learned from Chef Karl that Zhu was not a Chinese word but the name of his grandma.  So nice to know that the restaurant was conceptualize as homage to Chef's lola. That night we enjoyed a lot of dishes. But what stood out for me were the following :

Worth every penny! If you are craving for authentic Chinese food, then this is the place to go to in BGC. The Chef who happens to also be the owner personally prepares every dish. Awesome dimsum selection. Freshly made hot taho. Softest siopao buns EVER. Like seriously, you have to try it. I would've loved to have more of the filling though... enjoyed their hand pulled noodles too. If you're a vegetarian, they have something for you as well. :-) the servers could use more training

They have the BEST and most consistent Beef Noodle Soup. I get the one with more tendon than beef. It is always fantastic. The fresh hand pulled noodles are never overcooked, the broth is flavorful and the beef is deadly good. At the price point of their food items, you would be hard pressed to find more value for money in other restaurants in BGC.

Closest Chinese restaurant to our office right now lol. Food is so-so and are your typical Chinese food including their taste (sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, etc.). Service is a bit slow though and sometimes you have to ask twice for water :(

I was blessed to be a part of an intimate dinner with some foodies and reviewers. As one of the earliest visitors to arrived we met the very cordial and bubbly Chef Carl the owner of Zhu.Why the name "Zhu" ? Chef told us that he named it Zhu as a homage to his grandma. The cuisine is Hokkien Chinese ,as any knowledgable gourmand would know Chinese cuisine is vast ,it varies from area and very regional. The Hokkien cuisine is more of the southeastern part of China, mostly from Xiamen and Fujian. The interior is simple yet classy, soft lighting with light green and crimson hue.Let's now roll with the food,Starter:fried vegetable spring rolls- nice crisp with your usual sweet and spicy dip.Mains:Coffee Pork Ribs- P for phenomenal ,love that hint of coffee flavor that permeates through the meat. The right sweetness that you could taste ,nice tender and well cooked pork ribs.Reminiscent of the Tocino that was brought to another heights.👌🏽White Chicken (Hainanese counterpoint) Chef's version of this classic Paranakan dish. The skin of the chicken was yellow instead of the usual white chicken. The meat was very flavorful, moist and even the white parts were juicy. The chicken skin was very good, rich ,flavor bursting and melts in your mouth.Even without any condiments this dish is on the mark.Salmon Teriyaki- salmon belly perfectly cooked in caramelized teriyaki sauce ,a dish that will aroused the palate.Seafood Crispy Noodles- crispy egg noodles drench into subtle flavored thick sauce with scallops, fish cakes and balls ,shrimp and veggies.Noodles for a feast.Beef Curry- Chef's new brainchild , concocted and ground his own curry .Beef was very tender and the tendons was like a jelly that literally melts in the mouth which Chef painstakingly cooked for several hours. The curry is not the usual Philippine version nor the strong variety from west Asia.It has the Manchurian touch infused in it.Yang Chow Fried rice- Zhu's version of this classic rice dish.A bestseller of Zhu.Dessert:Special Taho- homemade and processed taho served in a mini wooden barrl ,this is not your run of the mill soya fix, smooth ,silky and firm ,you could really taste the soya in it.Completed with sago and syrup ,the flavor of the syrup is almost the same as the ones in East Asia. All of the dishes were meticulously made which made it chic and very recent.Prices of the food is very decent ,serving generous and service kind.Overall I give Zhu a HAPPY PLACE RATING.And👌🏽👌🏼👌🏻 will be back soon.Highly recommended for families and large groups .

Chinese food has been tagged with many labels. But one can't deny, that it is always comforting. And on some days, its actually all you need.Zhu Kitchen on the corner of 32nd and 5th BGC is one of the places that serves good Chinese food.Went here on a weekday night with friends and these 4 dishes became my favorites:Cereal Prawns: One of the best cereal prawns I've tried. Deep-fried to the right crisp and wonderfully-plated. I appreciated how the shrimp flavor stood out, and didn't get lost in the frying process. The added spices, sprinkled in after cooking, complemented the shrimp very well. Thumbs up for the great crisp texture.Braised Beef: Beefy, savory and flavorful. I greatly enjoyed the infused spices and fragrant greens. Tastes similar to Kanzhu's A1 beef noodles.Cheesy Seafood Baked Rice: Caramelized, thick yellow cheese sauce over seafood rice. Creamy, filling and has that light umami taste. Best with crunchy dishes like the cereal prawns.Coffee Spareribs: One of Singapore's classic hawker staples. Bite-sized pork ribs in semi sweet coffee glaze. While your brain wont get a buzz fix, your tastebuds just might. To refresh your palates, I recommend Zhu's new line of fruit shakes. Go for green mango, pineapple or four seasons. So if you are just good ol' hungry or if you and your friends are looking for your first stop before heading into a long night/day, Zhu Kitchen is a great choice in BGC for authentic and reasonably priced modern chinese food.

That hefty Braised Beef and Wanton Noodle soup is a good one! Served hot and flavorful which was attributed to the "wansoy" bits on the broth. The noodles and the beef itself have the right texture and taste too. The Pork Siomai texture is good, however it just tasted bland. The Roast Duck has a good marinade but the rice underneath it was kinda 'brittle' and 'buhaghag'. Maybe adding more water in the rice cooker will do the trick next time.Good marinade and texture on the stuffing of their Asado buns. I could have given a higher rating if not for the resto's poor service though. Water was not served automatically and we have to ask a couple of times for it to be served. Took quite some time also to get our bill despite follow-ups. And it was hot in the place.
