The best part of this restaurant is the photographer they hired to take pics of their dishes. This is probably the most extraordinary terrible Vietnamese food. So bad that I'm writing my review midway through my meal. The steward recommended their pho as the best seller...it couldn't have been more insipid! Appetiser sampler was very sub standard but I thought I'd wait for the pho. Shaking beef tastes like a hotel management student's first trial attempt in college. Beef stew is a very distant viscous cousin of sinigang. Have to give credit where it's due...the staff are sincere and attentive. I wouldn't eat here for free.

The bread they use for their banh mi is too hard to even be edible. The staff who handled my complaint actually told me they've had prior complaints with the bread, and yet they continue to sell this inedible crap and try to fool other customers. Close this place down, their spot in Serendra deserves a better restaurant.

I love Viet food and I've noticed that its really hard to get decent Viet food in Manila!  I thought I'd give this place a go and wish I didn't really.  I went for lunch and it was very quiet.  I ordered the Pho (I can't remember exactly which one it was) and also the garden spring rolls.  The Pho broth lacked a lot of flavor and they were really stingy on the extras (basil, coriander, beansprouts, lime, etc). The garden rolls were ok.  But a little bland again. It was also quite expensive for the quality of food they served.  The service was ok though.  No complaints.  The waiter was courteous and I didn't have to wait for too long.

This is such an underrated Restaurant! There’s only a few vietnamese Restaurants in BGC and it’s so rare to find one that’s really goood! Look no further though cause Zao’s is really yum!!! We got the caramelised garlic prawns, the lemongrass fish, pomelo salad and Zao pho. They didn’t have prawns which they didn’t tell us until the order arrived and they served shrimp instead. It was heavenly! The lemograss fish was exceptional! This is really a must try restaurant if you’re looking for good vietnamese food.

This used to be one of our go-to places. The last time we went the chicken was like rubber, didn't even taste like real chicken. I don't know if they're skimping on quality by buying subpar ingredients, but we were most disappointed and will not be going back.

Overal, not a pleasant experience and probably will not go back. For starters, the plates on the table are dirty. Wipe it with your finger and you'll find plenty of dust on them. We ordered the tenderloin which was good and then spareribs. Sent the spareribs back because it was not spareribs but rather a piece of pork belly that was 99% fat. Ordered pork chops instead which was far too sweet. In the end, they charged us for the piece of fat we sent back.

Great service and even better food and pricing. The place is neat and comfy. Will be definitely coming back. Zao bowl and shrimp cakes. 👌🏼😋

I liked the private and pleasant environment. Staff are accomodating and professional as well. However, their food tasted a little bit too much.

Came in for late lunch with a friend. The place is not crowded at 2pm and the ambience is nice. They got wine on each table, too bad tho they didn't get us taste it haha. So we ordered Saigon Fried Rice and Zao Barbeque Sampler. First off, Saigon Fried Rice on menu says it has Shrimp, Chinese Sausage and Peas. Sure it tastes Chinese Sausage and Peas are visibly there but the shrimp is quite lacking. It's tasty tho. Serving is good for 2. Quite pricey for me. Next, Zao Barbeque Sampler, I believe is their Pork, Chicken, Spareribs and Tenderloin Barbeque. They actually all tastes same for me, except that the Tenderloin have nuts topping. Barbeque tastes really good and nicely smoke. The meal came with vinegar with spice dip, which is perfect for the barbeque, and Carrot and Radish (I guess) slaw which is so fresh and wish they add more serving haha. The dish can be shared by 3 persons. There's still lot to try from this place so I'll be back.

If I could rate this restaurant a ZERO i would. LATE FOOD, BAD SERVICE AND HAIR IN FOOD. We waited 35 minutes for pho and their zao bowl. Our follow ups on our orders were not even addressed. We asked the same lady how much longer it would take twice, she never got back to us and avoided glancing at our direction when she walked by. On top of that when our food finally arrived there was a hair strand in the deep friend spring rolls in the zao bowl. When we pointed it out to the server all he did was ask if we wanted to have it changed... uh no we want to eat the roll with a hair strand in it. Ughhhh.
