Wee Nam Kee has been around for several years now, but for some reason, it never succeeded in attracting me to any of its branches. And the weird part is that I love Hainanese chicken. But it was in my fate to eventually step inside Wee Nam Kee and that day finally came two months ago. Hello, Wee Nam Kee!

I love their Hainanese chicken and Laksa. Pro tip: their laksa soup is refillable! But I always come back for their Salted Egg Chicken. I'm not sure if they're the ones who started this craze in the Ph but this is where it started for me.

The server was courteous and attentive. She even offered to take a picture of us because she noticed that we were fond of taking photos. However, the Hainanese chicken was not served hot. I am unsure if it's how it was supposedly served. Nevertheless, the Kai Lan was the life of our meal today. There was a certain kick when the veggie touched my taste buds.

What we ordered: Sambal kangkong, which was divine. Roasted Hainanese chicken, which brought me back to Singapore (figuratively, of course). Bah Kut Teh, which was just okay. Sichuan Sweet and Sour, which is sweet and sour and mildly spicy -- just right for me. Service was good -- largely because it was empty when we visited. I can't say if their service is the same on other, busier hours. It was a bit on the high side, price-wise.

As usual! Their Hainanese chicken is always the best, and one of the best chicken I’ve tasted in Manila. Honey Garlic Spareribs is also one of their best sellers so you should try it!

You can feel the blissful feeling that Hainanese Chicken Rice and Salted Egg Yolk Prawns impart only if you have lived in Malaysia or Singapore. Hainanese Chicken Rice is also commonly seen in Thailand, but my favourite is the Singapore version.

My boyfriend was the graphic artist of Relish group that handled Wee Nam Kee so he photographed and designed the menu. He had discounts there before so we tried the food. It's good. Very tasty, but the sauces are not overpowering the food. It's just the right taste. We ordered the roasted chicken, yang chow rice and another meal I forgot what.

Food: I love their Hainanese chicken and this is the only reason I go to this restaurant.Ambiance: Standard Asian RestaurantPrice: Affordable only when you order their specialty. Other foods are overpriced for what they are serving.
