Wasabi Warriors. The name alone made me want to try their sushi or sashimi badly, since I have such a budding and loving relationship with spicy food. I assumed that they were using fresh wasabi, which is way better and spicier than the fake stuff. Well… it was wrong for me to assume. I walking into Wasabi Warriors and noticed the refrigerated glass display case with uncut sushi rolls. Some of them did indeed look or seem interesting like Fresh Salmon & Avocado (classic combo), Spicy Tuna, to of course, the California Roll. Also there are choices as to what rice one may want. Rather, premade rolls with different rice options. Besides the white, there’s brown and black. I think that it’s a nice option to have especially when it comes to the more health conscious person. When a roll is cut up, it’s cut into four pieces. May I just say that I find that part odd. Four is considered unlucky in Japanese culture. Never have I been to a Japanese restaurant that served things in four pieces. Japanese chefs and owners dare not do this. Anyways, moving forward, when I bit into my sushi the first time, I was looking for that wow or pop factor for my taste buds, but nothing. The rice was somewhat cold, and had an odd mushy texture. It was anything but Japanese rice, or some sort of high quality sticky rice that would be suitable for sushi. The fillings that came with the roll, I could barely taste. It was really just mush on my taste buds when I was chewing. But I will say this, the wasabi, even though it was the fake paste stuff, it was slightly spicier than normal, by just a tiny bit. Nothing to rave about. On a side note, the California Roll is rolled with avocado, and not with a ripened yellow mango. It’s the way its originally made. Only in the Philippines does the California come with mangoes because of such abundance, and how it favors many Pinoy taste buds. The avocado is good, it just might take some time to get used to.Overall, Wasabi Warriors was a disappointment. I should’ve eaten somewhere else. Add a little more, and gotten way better sushi nearby. I really was expecting that intense true wasabi flavor and really good strong sushi flavors, like that of a warrior. Really not happy, and the website in me hates bad food, sushi most of all since it’s one of my favorite things to eat.The warrior here has lost the battle to keep this website happy.

The second time around wasn't a charm for this branch. It started by being almost an hour late in delivery. I easily get frustrated with that since I have to eat in a certain time frame. It seemed like there was so much more rice in their servings. The Inari Seaweed for example was drowning with it, it could use more seaweed and thicker tofu skin. I did love the sweet vibe of this. Fresh Salmon and Avocado was wonderfully made. The blend of soft fruity avocado and light salmon paired well with black rice. Too bad they only gave me a speck of wasabi, it gets better with more of it. The disappointing order was Spicy Tuna Roll. I had the impression they'll use fresh tuna but got the canned one instead. The abundant amount of rice is most evident here.

Aside from the fact na may insect sa loob ng chiller, The nori is makunat dahil di freshly made yun rolls, the salmon is malansa unlike other salmon I have had. I can't say anything anymore. I am beyond disappointed.

This is not really your typical sushi joint. We tried the Black Rice California maki roll and Spicy Katsu chicken maki. Just tasted ok, not really impressed, same with their gyoza. Staff is accommodating and the place is usually not crowded. I just really don't find the price reasonable for the taste of their rolls.

A fast-food type of Japanese food.Sushi, maki and sashimi are all frozen(even the wasabi)We ordered the chicken warrior pack and miso soup. It was a good decision to try only one pack.Their seared salmon sushi(one of their bestsellers) was included in the pack. The mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce were overpowering I could barely taste the salmon. :(The other rolls were also unremarkable.

Eating healthy has never been this delicious! Wasabi warriors serves a healthy kind of sushi rolls. From spicy red meats, sea food and vegs. A different way to enjoy Japanese delicacies! Arigato. 😊

Wasabi Warriors caught my interest when it first opened on the ground floor of the posh The Gramercy Residences. This Japanese sushi place exuded a cool vibe as I’ve seen the local “it” people raving about Wasabi Warriors’ rolls. And when it opened a branch in Serendra, I went to look at its menu and was surprised that its rolls are quite affordable. For a sushi place that started in a classy building, I had the impression that it would be pricey. I’m not complaining though as more affordable prices mean more food!

My mom was craving jap so I took her to wasabi warriors. I had chicken and she went for the pork katsu. She could'nt stop talking about the avocado with her dish haha! Their staff was great. Mom gave a big tip (again, she was really happy with the avocado) and when we left the waiter actually followed us outside to give it back cause he thought my mom just forgot to get her change (the tip was actually more than our bill) My mom was so impressed that she gave additional tip. Hooray for mom! Anyway, needless to say, mother dear will surely be asking to go back :)

Day 4 of not eating rice.   I am still lucid but i feel like my vitals are weak and i am slowly drifting to oblivion.  I am on a diet,  cousin is getting schackled,  i need to be skinny to fit the bridesmaid dress.  Concensus Terrorism consumes massive amounts of energy.  I did tell you that not eating a single grain of rice a day makes me gloomy,  cranky and homicidal.  No,  i didnt kill anyone today.  But i have a serious case of the munchies and i am this close to losing my mind. While i was walking around High Street,  i had and epiphany,  why not eat sushi?  Wasabi Warriors it is.  I can eat rice only in smaller portions.  This is my first time to visit their Serendra branch.  The joint is small,  but well lit.  The sushi counter is filled with mouth-watering rolls if different variants.  I got a little sad that they dont sell their wasabi mayonnaise jar here,  apparently it is only available at the Gramercy branch.  The girl manning the counter was nice enough to offer an extra serving of the mayo.  Wasabi is now guaranteed to have one solid star in the review, ladies and gentleman. Anyway,  i ordered spicy tuna roll and panko roll to go.  As i previously mentioned in my first review,  this joint will probably disappoint hardcore sushi lovers.  The rolls they make is not like the classic - no way near it.  But it would be a good starting point for someone who is just beginning to try Japanese flare.  You don't make them it raw fish the first time,  make 'em eat Wasabi Warriors first then you can gradually move on to the next level. The spicy tuna roll is perfect with the wasabi mayonnaise.  Canned tuna,  cucumber slices,  white rice,  wrapped in Nori.  Panko roll comprises of breaded crabsticks wrappred in white rice.  This was just okay,  they went a lil cray-cray with the breading,  where is the crabmeat?  Anyway,  i still love WW,  affordable rolls for a carb craving.

Interesting flavors. I love that they have brown rice or black rice options. My favorite is the seared salmon nigiri and the seaweed salad roll. 😊 better to order the party packs when you're a big group because 1 roll is 4 pieces only.P.S. On your first store visit, you get a free roll when you register on their website.
