My family's go to tendon place. It's surprising that Tenya is so underrated in the Philippines despite its track record in Japan. Food is consistently good (they fry their tempuras using infrared technology) and service is excellent!

All star tempura teishoku - prawn, squid, salmon, kani, green beans, mushroom, with rice, miso soup, and potato salad. The highlight of my rather tiring and stressful visit to st. Lukes (walking distance) 😅

Dinner. The place was not full yet since it was just 6:30pm. Place was clean.Ordered Classic Temupra teishoku..Food: 4/5. Good serving size. Quality of tempura in terms of freshness is good. The miso soup that came with the set was rich tasty. Make sure to stir regularly so the miso is well distributed in every sip. The potato salad(part of the set) was ok. I think they changed a bit since the diced potatoes are bigger now and less moist. This was not like this before.Value: Very good value at P355 for good tempura meal. I remember I had a small slice of mediocre ube cheesecake and peppermint mocha from starbucks last week for the same price- dissapointing.

The place was clean and the staff was great but the food was disappointing. I ordered the ultimate crab tendon but the tempura tasted like it was pre cooked. The crab was dry and overcooked and didnt taste fresh at all.I was expecting something special as they said that they were the number 1 tendon place. Sadly mistaken.

Good food but limited menu. Their tempura is pretty lightly battered so you will be able to taste the ingredients and it’s a plus that their ingredients are fresh.

Another satisfying trip to Tenya happened today. Their black tiger prawns in the signature batter are truly worth coming back to over and over. My friends and I shared the Yume Set, value for money basket of different kinds of tempura, 6 of it are delicious black tiger prawns. I suggest having this when dining in groups of at least 4 people. It comes already with rice and miso soup. To start we shared small portions of starters. It had tasty and crisp Chicken Karaage, Buta Shabu and Agedashi Tofu. I also got to indulge in their version of Sukiyaki. It had ample sweet and savory meat paired with udon. This is a good addition, a soup for your bowl of tempura. For desserts, we had delectable and chewy pieces of Matcha Cookies. Check it out! The Ningyo-Yaki, however, was not good. These are bear shaped pastries with filling. It was too simple and dry. If you are reading this, Tenya has a Buy 1, Take 1 deal today. I suggest visiting their stores.

Took out the mix tempura rice meal at dinnertime. Very prompt service. It was absolutely fast. My order was prepared in 5 minutes. Price is proportional to the food and presentation of the food. Please note that they have no sauce or something to dip the tempura in, they just simply put the sauce along with the rice (which I personally do not like), but it tastes good. Not authentic but it tastes nice and they sure know how to make a tempura, unlike un-authentic japanese food chains. Staff was very accomodating.

I'll be honest, it has been awhile since I went here to dine and I haven't took the chance to eat there again. I ordered the Classic Tempura Set and it was nothing special. (Not sure if it should taste that plain). Nothing excites me, from the deep fried beans and Tempura that doesn't have any sauce that comes with it. You'll only be given a fish sauce like for the rice I think. Dessert is too bland too, I only took a bite.

Tenya catched my attention today due to their buy1take1 promo on their classic tendon. I usually passed by their store before but ignores it as I thought their price point is steep, like around 400 per order, but I was wrong. I discovered today that a bowl of their classic tendon is only 265. It's affordable given it's a tendon meal. When my orders arrived, I was excited to try it out and it didn't disappoint. I love how tasty their tempura is, whether it's the shrimp, squid or veggies. Add to that was the sauce and the rice, perfect combination! I wished they'll have more promos like this in the future. :)

Went to Tenya tempura tendon in BGC stopover. The ambience is ok and the staff are friendly.Ordered the following:Asakusa special teishoku includes 3 prawns and cold soba. Both the fried prawn and cold soba tastes good.Classic tendon with 1 prawn - miso soup is great and the sauce is ok too.Buta kimuchi tendon with 3 pork belly. Initially the pork belly was not cooked well so we had to return it. And also salty. My suggestion also is to slice the belly into bite sizes because it is quite hard to chew.
