What an underwhelming experience! I was so hungry and was looking forward to a sumptuous meal but very disappointed when I tasted the food. I regretted the decision to try something new. Food didn't seem to be fresh. Salmon definitely was not. Pesto pasta cannot possibly be a favorite as the menu indicated. :(

I took my nieces here on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Not surprisingly, the place was packed with families. The pancakes were nothing fancy, but the interactive dining experience was what we were there for. I wanted my nieces to have fun making their own pancakes and making pancake art. They're basically grown kids playing with their food. Aside from pancakes, we got the Wagyu Burger, a Breakfast Benedict, Spaghetti and Meatballs, and a Chocolate Lava Cake.

I'm sure we've all been fooled and disappointed by many restaurants with their colorful, vibrant and yummy looking photos and menus. The Salmon and Avocado Toast that my partner ordered would be something that rhymes with slappy - crappy. The salmon was nothing close to being fresh. The avocado, please refer to the unfiltered photo I've uploaded, was dark green which was mashed and looked like it was made 2 days ago. Yuck! Avocado on toast should be freshly sliced not puréed. Plus, there was no egg salad at all, that white cream is just cream. Anyway, I ordered the Sausage Breakfast Skillet which wasn't bad, but my partner couldn't eat the avocado toast (I wouldn't), so he took it back to the server (she didn't ask why or what's wrong with it) and just ordered the sausage skillet. Oh, and we still paid for that avocado toast.

Was not happy w/ the service the last time I was here.  Food takes forever to be served when there weren't that much customers & there were a lot of restaurant staff.  Even the ingredients for cooking the pancake took too long (it was already very hot coz the cooking oven/pan is already turned on).  Staff were also not that courteous when you try to follow up your orders.

I've read about this breakfast place before but since it was in Eastwood, I didn't really think that I would be able to visit the place. Thankfully, I think, my workplace was near Eastwood and so I finally was able to try Slappy Cakes yesterday.First thing I noticed was that it looked pretty snazzy and I really liked it. It seemed pleasant and I love the vibe of the place. My friends asked me to order for them. I started with the Buttermilk Pancake with Nutella and Banana as Fixins. I got this simply for the experience of cooking it at our table and spreading the batter and putting on the Nutella. I also loved that my friends all had fun when it was their turn. After, we had the Pork Eggs Benedict and by the looks of it alone, it was to die for. One bite and it was heaven. The eggs were just right, the pork underneath added spice that complimented the egg. It was perfect. It was salty and the eggs were just soft and cooked really well. Ayyyy .. thinking about it makes me want to eat it again. It was really good.Next plate we had was the Chicken Fingers. I can definitely say this is the best chicken fingers I've ever tasted. The stuffing, the cream sauce that went with it ... it was simply awesome. Lastly, I ordered the Slappy Burger. Now, I had high expectations for this since it carries the store name and therefore means that its a signature dish. Boy was I right! The burger patty was just ... chewy, soft, flavorful, and definitely MEATY. I feel like I couldn't have finished this burger on my own. It was that heavy. I'm glad that we went to Slappy Cakes. It was such a wonderful breakfast place and definitely filling.

For anyone who has always wanted to create their own pancakes or someone who considers himself a breakfast meal aficionado, Slappy Cakes is a dream come true. Known for their D-I-Y pancakes as well as their sumptuous meals done in creative presentations, it’s no secret why the restaurant continues to draw customers.Delight in Slappy Cakes’ new menu and experience their huge servings of sinfully delicious meals that’ll surely satisfy even the most discriminating palate.  We’ve recently visited Slappy Cakes at their SM Aura  Premiere branch (located at the lower ground level) and although it was a regular day, I was surprised to find out that it is frequented by groups of friends and families with healthy appetites. Slappy Cakes’ cozy, comfy and cool funky orange interiors is inviting even if the place is mostly packed with diners. Besides, it’s the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a place to satisfy your appetite. Of course, their pancakes are hands-down the best sellers. Meals are reasonable and they come in huge servings. And since most meals come in huge portions, it’s ideal to come to the restaurant in big groups or as families so you can sample their wide range of dishes and be able to share it with one another. Make your day complete with Slappy Cakes’ refreshing cold beverages such as Cucumber Lime Aide or Cranberry Cooler, if juices aren’t your thing, there’s an array of milkshakes, sodas or even beers to choose from. If you’ll ask me, the Cucumber Lime Aide and Cranberry Cooler are both palate cleansing too. So it’s best to pair them with your favorite fried foods.Captivate your senses with a taste of Slappy Cakes’ mouthwatering dishes and delectable Western fusions—from healthy and spicy to something sweet and savory, salads, pastas and desserts. And for a change, try the newest menu selection made specifically for Slappy Cakes by Chef Him de Baron. “For the Slappy Cakes’ new menu, I’ve considered foods that Pinoys constantly crave for. We have the selection of D-I-Y skillets that’s sure to bring excitement to the table. I personally made sure that the dishes are indulgent but still easy to have everyday. The D-I-Y skillets are pretty interactive and perfect for groups like families, friends and even officemates,” shares Chef Him.Foodies looking for a little bit of everything will surely love Slappy Cakes’ Caesar Salad with Ginger Aoili, Creole Style Shrimp Crepe, and Sausage Pasta. The Chorizo Jam Melt is worth mentioning too. But the Breakfast Wagyu Burger is love. Other must-try fusion dishes diners can enjoy include the Carbonara Roll-up (which I bet the kids will certainly love), Pop’s Pot Roast, Salmon Benedict and Bacon Benedict. Personally, I loved Slappy Cakes’ Smoked Salmon and Avocado Toast. It’s really, really good. I’d definitely come back for more and will also recommend them to friends if they’ll come and visit Slappy Cakes anytime soon. For the greens, I’ve had enjoyed digging on Chopped Salad with Raspberry Balsamic. For the D-I-Y skillets, I am partial to the Sausage Breakfast Skillet. Well, I maybe considered biased since I loved the homemade sausages which Chef Him said they made specifically for that D-I-Y skillet selection. Oh, and don’t forget to save some room for dessert because they have lots of delectable pastries, crepes and cakes to try. Everything from their popular and all-time favorite Make-Your-Own-Pancakes with four batters to choose from (buttermilk, peanut butter, chocolate and red velvet), there’s also Chef Miko Aspiras’ to-die-for Grasshopper Pie (Yup, it was so tempting that even if I’m diabetic, I couldn’t help but dig a few spoonfuls of its chocolate minty cake), Apple and Peach Cobbler and Fruit Trifle, Caramel Lava Cake, Wicked Cookies and Cream, Sticky Toffee and Walnut Rolls are there to delight the sweet tooth. So for diners looking for a great-value-for-money or those who simply want to enjoy a taste of excellent food and service at a relaxed atmosphere, come and visit Slappy Cakes. It’s a great place to have a delicious gastronomic feast especially on weekends. You’ll be like hitting two birds with one stone when you and your family dine here, you get to bond with them and create wonderful memories while you enjoy great food.

Disappointed with their recommended dish. The DIY skillet which costs P450, includes 4 measly pieces of roasted beef belly and (partially) mashed potatoes (it still has a lot of chucks - not just lumps!) We also ordered pancakes with peanut butter, banana and bacon bits and it cost us almost P500! Nothing really special about it, you can make a better one at home.

The well-loved pancake place has had a make over on their menu.  I was ecstatic to try them out and this time, though I've been craving for their vegan pancake batter, I visited their SM Aura branch, dined with the table-top griddles covered. Unfortunately, I didn't make a couple of pancakes but what the heck, I was able to try some of their new menu offerings.  Please. don't tell my kids I went here, they terribly miss another gratifying and fun pancake-play-eat sesh at Slappy Cakes.

Creative menu but the execution is poor. Disappointing burger patty with fillers mixed in. Also chicken tenders came half cooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. Surprise surprise, the exact dish came back minus one piece which was the one cut to show the half cooked chicken.

Had dinner here with my partner. We had the DIY skillets in wagyu burger steak and my partner had the other one which name I do not remember. Our food came, the serving was fine but THE FOOD WAS NOT SEASONED AT ALL. We told the waiter and the response we got was "Those were marinated for 5 hours, the marinate probably lacked seasoning." and he gave us a comment slip. I was feeling nice that night, so we just asked for salt so that I CAN SEASON MY OWN FOOD. Definitely a bad impression, not coming back again.
