It's a nice good authentic Chinese restaurant at an affordable price, menu was pretty basic and safe. For less than a thousand bucks, you can get a big serving (good for 2-3 people) of hot aromatic Shrimp and Pork Wonton Noodles, Shrimp and Pork Wonton Soup, Salt and Pepper Calamari and two drinks. Star of the night was the Salt and Pepper Calamari which was perfectly cooked. It's just right across our place along with our other favorite restaurants, Kanteen and Kuppa. I just have to say the male crew who was cleaning up before I was even finished eating was a little bit inappropriate at the time, although he did ask for permission, he sees me trying to finish my soup and still he took away my plate. Other than that, quality and taste of the dishes was good.

I looove Taiwan, and every dining experience I have at Shi Lin is an authentic one. This is also verified by the Man, who's been to Taiwan countless times. We ordered xiao long bao (a must-try!), vegetable and mushroom dumplings (a bit dry though tastes okay), stir-fried Taiwanese spinach (yummy!), shrimp and egg fried rice (good!), and noodles in peanut sauce with the chili oil on the side (tastes authentic!), as well as red bean bun for dessert (the mantou was tasty and the filling just the right sweetness). We had their Taiwanese oolong/house tea for drinks, and it was surprisingly good, plus it had that vanilla taste. The interior is nice and spacious, although the aircon wasn't fully functioning when we dined, perhaps because of the typhoon. They have two kitchens--one for the dumplings and buns (open-type), and one for the rest of the dishes. Service was fast, we waited for not more than fifteen minutes for the food, but a bit longer for the dumplings. Prices are good for the serving sizes, and overall we paid not more than a thousand pesos for a fully satisfying meal. I can't believe we didn't come here sooner, but we will definitely come back.
