This place is definitely a must try! They are located in center of Bonifacio High Street. I initially wondered why there were a lot of "Garlic" named restaurants popping here and there so I went here together with my friend to see and taste the popular Red Garlic.I ordered Florence pasta since I heard from their Manager that this is the pasta to try if you love truffle based sauce. We thought that it wouldn't be a heavy meal since it would just be good for 1 person, but we were surprised to see that it was good enough for 2! Aside from this, the pasta itself was heavy enough to be an entire meal for both of us! After a few minutes, our Mt. Fuji arrived. This is definitely something that people should try as well. A sweet cheesy sushi that would make you smile at first bite since it brings a lot of flavor to your mouth. We were already so full after the 2 dishes so we had to stop eating. But for sure, I would definitely go back here soon since they still have a lot of other dishes to offer. I still have to try their foie gras and steak!

My friend and I went here on a weekday, and even after lunch (1:30pm) the place was still pretty full. This is not surprising since, apart from its increasing popularity, the two times that I've eaten here did not leave unsatisfied. For my third visit, I asked the manager for her personal recommendations. My friend wanted a Mt. Fuji, which are rolls that have scallops in them and lots and lots of cheese. We also opted for the Florence pasta as suggested by the manager which is truffle based. We also had the red iced tea which would be loved by anybody who prefer their iced tea very sweet. As we had been warned that Mt. Fuji may take a few minutes, but the Florence pasta came right on time. The portion was huge but we almost finished it! It had lots of mushrooms which I personally like, and the crunchy fried wanton wraps were a nice addition! (Even if it probably meant more to add an aesthetic appeal to the dish?) I did not expect it to be that heavy though, and while it was very yummy, I got full pretty fast. When the Mt. Fuji arrived, I was already stuffed. But the rolls looked super appetizing that I couldn't resist at least having a couple. Again, the portions were huge. They are not the typical rolls you'd have in Japanese restaurants in Manila as the size of each roll served in Red Garlic are probably twice the size, and are best served hot rather than the usual cold. It had more cooked elements in them, too which makes it feel more like a fusion between the Japanese (nori) style and American/Filipino/Italian flavor. The rolls were great! I couldn't take it in as a whole piece which made it seem like it had something different in every bite! The scallops were a little fishy, but it was overpowered by the other different flavors so it wasn't that bad.Overall, I'd say that I'd keep coming back to Red Garlic for their unique dishes and when I am in the mood to eat a little bit more than I usually do. The staff was accommodating too, and I noticed that all the guests were welcomed to their seats by friendly hosts. I've never had a bad experience in this place and I say it deserves the popularity that it gets!
