Another website event courtesy of Oudon Restaurant in BGC. The restaurant is just above Mcdo in 7th Ave BGC. The restaurant offers Japanese cuisine and their specialty are Udon Noodles. Udon noodles are a bit thick and chewy unlike regular noodles. We had a lot for tonight and here are my recommendations for this restaurant . First of all they have a lot of appetizers to choose from. You may start with their satsumo-age which is like a japanese seafood cake. This is so tasty and yummy and really a must try. I also love their Teba Gyoza which is a gyoza made out of chicken wings. Unlike regular wrapped gyoza, this dish is wrapped in chicken wings. So juicy and delicious. For their udon noodles, I would recommend their curry udon, cream zanmai udon and basil udon pasta. The curry udon is topped with katsu and this is actually really good. If you like to have a hot soup, the cream zanmai is just perfect with the cold weather and your hungry tummy. It is topped with seafoods and served with rice. The basil pasta is good and it is something new to have pasta with udon noodles. For dessert, the Matcha Ice Cream is good and tasty as well as their kinako and ankoro mochi. Just perfect to end your meal. Each udon order comes with a bowl of rice and unlimited Udon Noodles and Soup. Yes, UNLIMITED UDON NOODLES AND SOUP. So if you're still hungry with one serving you may ask for a refill. This applies with Udon dishes except pasta. This is also my first time to try out sashimi since I am not a fan of raw food. Well, it turns out pretty well. The salmon sashimi is good and I am actually surprised. Same goes with their tuna sashimi. Note: we met the Chef of the restaurant and we discovered that their Soup Base is actually imported from Japan. Well that is new for me. So the soup base of your noodles really came from Japan.Overall, the restaurant is a good place to go to if you wanted to try something new especially with noodles. Their serving is big like their serving bowls. And when I say big it is BIG. Must try in BGC.

Sad to say that the only good thing about the restaurant was the location in the renowned suburb of BGC. I went with my partner and ordered at the same time but for some weird reason i got my food almost 10 minutes after she did which was a little disappointing to say the least. The quality of the food did not make up for its lateness with over cooked karage chicken and dry steamed rice. A bit disappointing particularly for the price at almost 1000 pesos for two small meals. So would i return? NO!

If you're looking for a nice alternative to ramen, the udon sets at Oudon Restaurant is a nice place to start with. A hefty bowl of chewy noodles in clear and flavorful broth along with well made toppings and sides. They even offer free refill for the soup and noodles, how cool is that? For the appetizers the satsuma-age / japanese version of a fish cake is really good, bold seafood flavor with nice hint of smokiness running in the background. The Nabeyaki Oudon is quite good and filling too, served with chahan (fried rice) and topped with pieces of tempura and poached egg.Must-try dishes: Nabeyaki Oudon, Teba Gyoza, Satsuma-age and Matcha Ice CreamDo check out the full feature about the restaurant on the blog - heftyfoodie.com/oudon-restaurant-at-the-forum-south-global-bgc/

So pleased with the service. The staff very attentive. The manager, Mr. Yoshi was very gracious. The food was an absolute delight. Loved their creamy seafood Oudon. The noodles are freshly made. The salad with mango was one of my favorite. Would highly recommend Oudon to my friends!
