Solid place for katsu. I had the cheese katsu which was absolutely delicious. Best 380PHP I've spent on japanese here. Good for small groups of 4 or less, and they have unlimited rice which is nice (for those who are extra hungry). Quality of the rice is well maintained, I suspect they add rice vinegar to give it that slightly sweet but addictive flavour. Would also recommend the potato salad (which is about 180PHP).

One of my favorite places for katsu! We're a group of 10 when we arrived.Kudos to Hannah who assisted us all throughout! She promised food will be served in 15 minutes and she didn't let us down. While we are waiting for the our katsu, she served the unlimited cabbage and miso soup. The sauce for the cabbage is extremely good! Thank goodness it's unlimited.Their miso soup is also a winner!I ordered their rosu and the taste didn't fail me. The pork is easy to chew and flavourful! They served Japanese rice.Since we used the metrodeal voucher, every peso was well spent. Will I recommend: YASSSS!Will I eat again: of course!

Service was great. I love the thinly shredded cabbage as always, perfect with goma dare (i could eat about 3 bowls all by myself) and of course the namasu. Angie attended us very well, she was always smiling even with all the commands our group asked her. I no longer eat rice but boy oh boy, there's something about japanese rice that makes me fall into temptation. Most importantly, the katsu - I had better katsu at Kimukatsu Shangri-la, it was way tender than at BGC's. They get to justify that thinly slices of pork stack up to form a katsu which i think makes it different from other katsu restaurants.

Nice, relatively quiet restaurant just off Bonifacio High Street. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave advice on the various katsu options. We both selected pork katsu - mine was the mille feuille style, with spring onion, my partner chose pork loin. We were given a large bowl of shredded cabbage, Japanese pickles and miso soup as we waited for the main. All were tasty - the 4 varieties of salad dressing on the table were all nice; the miso soup was rich and tasty - and refillable. The katsus came with a big, steaming bowl of rice. Both were freshly prepared, succulent and crisp on the outside, and both very tasty. Service was good, price was reasonable and good tasty.

Kimukatsu may not be as popular as the other katsu places, but it can hold its own. I love their cheese katsu! I hate ordering cheese katsu elsewhere because it's usually mixed in with ground meat. At kimukatsu though, you still get the pork fillet cutlet but with melted cheese oozing inside! They also have a spinach and a pesto variety that are worth a try. It's also the only katsu place I know that serves two kinds of miso soup -- regular and red (which has a stronger, saltier flavor to it).Only thing I'm missing is that fruits are not included in the rice set :(Service is good, never had any problems, never had to wait too long either.

I love the area. It has that mysterious dark interior design but is well-lit, perfect to see the food (and who you're with, LOL!). Staff is friendly and efficient. I like that the katsu set meals have unlimited rice and vegetables, but with quality taste (as compared to some restos with meh salad/cold sides). The rice is perfectly cooked, the katsu breaded well (right amount of crust and crunch without too much breading and more meat). I got the cheese katsu, which was a bit sour, but considering what I got, I understand. The chicken karaage (?) was delicious as well, but better with the tonkatsu sauce rather than the mayo/lemon. All in all, I had a great experience and would definitely come back.

I love this place! Of all the katsu places in Manila, Kimukatsu has, by far, the best rice ever. The millefeuille katsu is my favorite variant, too! They also have red miso!!!! I feel like this place is highly underrated. Their katsu is a great deal more affordable than other places, and the sides you get with it blow everybody else's out of the water. The katsu, too, is just as great. Layers and layers of delicious pork that burst with flavor each and every bite. I also love dining in any of their branches--the service is always so prompt!

An intriguing take on katsu with the 25 layers of meat.  Good prices and with bottomless salad and soup with their "sets" you can't go wrong served with the correct sauces for an authentic katsu experience.  Service is very friendly and helpful.  Would suggest for a lunch or informal dinner.
