Filipino food served. It was okay, nothing spectacular. If you crave filipino cuisine that won't kill your budget, they are a good choice to go to but do not expect to be blown away. You won't be. .If you are hoping to get what you pay for then yes, definitely, this is a good choice to go for.

Kartilya for me isn't a typical Filipino restaurant, yes they serve traditional Filipino dishes but they made those dishes in a different way, the modern way. Every dishes were cooked and served with a twist which is a good thing to those people who are fond of trying something new for their taste buds.About the place, I felt like I'm in our province because of the interiors which they also add up a little modern details.  Though I quite find the place dark maybe they could add a little more light inside. Here are the Kartilya dishes that we've tried :)Liempo Queso Fundido - This is the most popular dish they have. It is currently making a buzz in town that's why we also had a food meet up in Kartilya to try this out. It was really enticing as it was served because of the well grilled pork and ofcourse the gooey triple cheese. Though for me there's nothing extraordinary for the taste. The pork was seasoned well and the triple cheese was fine. I suggest they put a little spice on the cheese to add a bit kick on the dish ;)Kartilya's Sizzling Kansi - This was my personal favorite at Kartilya. The staff said that it was an Ilonggo version of Bulalo which tasted like bulalo yet has a sour soup like sinigang. This is a dish that I know a lot of people would crave for I could still imagine the sourness of the dish because of the Kamias and the sinful beef bone marrow ughh I would definitely come back for this dish but next time I would pair it with Fish sauce and Calamansi that would be perfect ❤Nipa Hut Medley - This dish was a perfect combination of my two favorite filipino dishes which are the Kare-Kare and Pinakbet but more of the Kare-kare taste because of the peanut sauce and for me good thing about this dish is that it has a lot of veggies, the entire dish was satisfying.Kartilya's 3 kinds of Rice: Aligue, Dirty & Tinapa.. from the three choices my personal favorite was the Dirty Rice because of its addicting flavour. Aligue and Tinapa was typical for me yet they are also flavorful.Carioca ng Kartilya w/ variants of chocolate, chocnut & white chocolate fillings with a complementary coconut/latik sauce - I've tried the one with the white chocolate filling and for me it was too sweet as it is. It doesn't need to be dipped on the coconut sauce. Though what I like about their carioca the texture was really smooth you would really know that it was made by fine sticky flour and it was also perfectly cooked.Filipino food is good but Kartilya made it soo good with their innovative filipino dishes that every Filipino would be enticed and love to try. 😉

Kartilya as its name suggests, is a restaurant that serves Filipino modern and classic food with a twist. Head Chef Lica Ibarra is behind the culinary prowess of the fine dishes served in this outstanding restaurant. There’s always something grand cooking in their kitchen.Ambience – 4/5Service – 5/5Food Recommendations: Liempo Queso Fundido (PhP 290.00) – 3/5I loved the combination of inihaw na liempo and three-cheese fondue. However, the meat was a little overcooked, that made the skin a bit tensile.Kartilya's Sizzling Kansi (PhP 290.00) – 4/5Who wouldn’t love sizzling bulalo? The bone marrow was so sinfully good, and the meat is extremely soft, juicy, and almost melts in the mouth.Carioca ng Kartilya (PhP 245.00) – 4/5Definitely not your ordinary carioca! This gourmet classic Pinoy merienda comes in three different flavors (White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Chocnut), and is served with latik sauce (caramelized coconut cream).Other food that we tried:Nipa Hut Medley (PhP 270.00) – 3.5/5Aligue Rice (PhP 200.00) – 3.5/5Kartilya Dirty Rice (PhP 165.00) – 3.5/5Tinapa Rice (PhP 165.00) – 4/5

Homage to Philippine History, Kartilya(aka the Katipunero's 'bible'), seeks to merge and unfold a gastronomical Filipino feast with a modern-traditional twist. The restaurant's vibe takes you a step back in time and at the same time, keeps you in consciousness that you live in the present. Modern Filipino aesthetics flares out from the wood and glass fixtures surrounding the restaurant. Here are some of the few Mother's Day highlights that they have served us:Liempo Queso FundidoKartilya's Sizzling KansiNipa Hut MedleyAligue RiceKartilya Dirty RiceTinapa RiceCarioca ng Kartilya ( Choice of White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Chocnut)My favorites were the Kartilya Sizzling Kansi(Bone Marrow) and the Carioca ng Kartilya(specifically, the choconut filled one.❤️)

If you’ve got the taste for the Filipino classic vintage, then Kartilya would surely satisfy your vibe. From the delectable Filipino home-cooked dishes with a twist, to the restaurant’s interiors, one would surely feel cozy and homey.Did you know that Kartilya is the ‘Katipunero’s Bible’? Yas! We haven’t found out until they told us. But other than the comfort this place exudes, one more thing to be excited for is the restaurant’s bar that is spacious enough to accommodate you and your friends at any given night of the week.Maui's Favorites include: Liempo Queso Fundido - P290Kartilya's Sizzling Kansi - P490Aligue Rice - P200Kartilya Dirty Rice - P165Tinapa Rice - P165Carioca ng Kartilya - P245 ( Choice of White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Chocnut)
