After an epic whole day food trip, some website friends and I decided to head on over to Jill’s for some drinks and rockeoke. Its been a long while since I last went, and we learned that Jack(‘s) already went up the hill on his own. Jill’s is under new management and the more relaxed and chill interior immediately makes that statement.Wanting to get things started, we first had some shooters like the B-52 (P200) with coffee liqueur, irish cream and  orange liqueur. And the Baby Guiness (P180) with midori, white Sambuca and grenadine. We had another shooter and some cocktails but I can’t recall their names : )As for the food, here are the ones you should not miss out on:Pineapple Sriracha Wings (P330): Has the exact amount of heat. Other bars tend to hold back on the hot sauce on this classic chow, but Jill’s gives it the right hotness. Sweet, spicy and buttery all at the same time. Great with beer. And who doesn’t love Sriracha right?Crispy Mushroom BBQ Burger (P380): This dish had me at bacon onion jam! Thick beef patty topped with crispy shrooms, swiss cheese and barbecue sauce. Did I mention bacon onion jam?Beef Tenderloin Salpicao (P360): Extra tender beef cubes sautéed in olive oil and garlic. Great starter and good beer match. A must for carnivores.Nacho Skillet Dip (P320): Gooey cheddar cheese served on a warm skillet with a basket of nacho chips. Great for sharing, good for 2-4.Since we actually had plans of going home,  I didn’t sing, lest that night’s rainy drizzle turn into Ondoy.  Considering the length of time Jill's has been in BGC, its hard to imagine  The Fort Strip without it. And if Jill's inner walls could talk, I think it would speak of countless fun times, wasak-moments, belly-busting gastronomy and once in a lifetime live-singing performances. Though its other half has moved on, I hope Jill’s will be here to stay.

This used to be my favorite hang out place back 2006 and up to now. During that year 80's was the trend and it was the only bar in the city that plays the hits of the 80s, so most of the young professionals that time come to this place for music and booze.

I don't really go drinking out at bars. I enjoy drinking at home more, or at low-key places, where the only entertainment you need are booze and friends. So I was actually pleasantly surprised when we found this place over the weekend. It wasn't your usual party spot. Heck, you could probably even say it's a bit outdated since the music isn't as hip or popular as the others. But that's exactly what I like about it as well. Interiors aren't exactly screaming "cool", which was fine with me. I'll just leave those kinds of things to the young'ns. (Gaaahd, I sound so old. Haha.) But to balance the simplicity of the place, the band last Saturday totally rocked it out. :) So if you enjoy watching a live band while having drinks, this place could totally fit your style. We tried the new beer they were offering, Brew Kettle, at only 80pesos per bottle, and it wasn't that bad. It didn't have that bitter aftertaste that other beers have. We also ordered their nachos, at 300pesos, which had great servings and good taste. So overall, the experience wasn't that bad. I'd have to say the live band really made it enjoyable. Towards the end of the night, since my friends and I were having such a good time, the owner actually thanked us for coming by giving us free beer. :) Free booze ain't hurt nobody! And the staff was really very friendly, joking around with us the whole time. I really liked the people here, which, at the end of the day, is more reason for me to go back than anything. :)

A good place for drinking sessions after a hard day's work. The finger food dishes like Crispy Pata and nachos are best served with local ice cold beer by the buckets. So inuman na! 😋

We were in the area and we just want to try a new place to eat. Jill's was nearby so we decided to hang out there. The place was okay and chill. The food is a bit pricey for me, considering the quantity and quality. The sisig was okay, nothing special about it. I liked the creamy pesto though 👌 The cherry on top was the band playing. They were really good. 👍
