P600 for 2? How is that even possible? We spent about P1k per person and we left still unsatisfied. The good: 1. Meat quality is good. Not the best. Good wagyu is available in a lot of restaurants in Manila. Try real Kobe beef in Japan which we cant seem to bring in to the Philippines. 2. Mentaiko bibimpab is different and our first order was quite good though our 2nd order did not have enough mentaiko and salmon and just tasted quite bland. The bad: 1. Service is terrible. Food takes forever to get to you. Simple salad of spinach and goma sauce (which you can buy in bottles from Japanese stores) took over 30 minutes. They ran out of a certain meat and did not inform us till we asked where our order was when all the other meat had already been served. No apology whatsoever from server either. 2. No dipping sauce for the meat which is essential if consuming with rice. We were not informed that they ran out of dipping sauce all! Server even pretended there was no such thing! 3. Really small servings. Jap Chae is good for one. Salad is good for 1/2 a person. Overall: Its not worth it. Sandaya or other Japanese yakiniku places still better. Please note I do not get paid for my reviews nor do I get free food.

Food portion small. Beef was tender but blah.. No taste. Bibimbap was ok. Gyoza was dry. The ramen was just so-so. Not what we expected from gyukaku which i heard have glowing reviews esp fr overseas. Urameshiya a lot better!

We entered this resto not knowing what it has to offer. We just know it's a Japanese restaurant. Upon entering, I was surprised that they have grills on each of the tables. I immediately ordered raw chicken strips with the garlic marinade and a bowl of rice to go with it. I had fun grilling my chicken though it was hard since there seems the be only one spot that was "heated". I guess this is because they're using charcoal in all of their grills. The long wait of cooking the chicken was worth it!

For a girl with a big appetite and a thin wallet (HAHA), this place was overpriced. I may have gotten a better deal from don day (at Maginhawa) or Sambokojin. Luckily, my mom was the one who paid but she still thought that it's overpriced. We ordered ramen, matcha ice cream and a few beef and seafood for grilling. Well, It's "okay" but nothing special about it's taste. The grilling part of the experience makes it fun and the dishes are served and plated nicely.  But, with prices that high, I think I won't come back here anymore. There is one exception though, their matcha ice cream. That was definitely worth it. ;)
