I drink Detoxify Bar juices once in a while. They are healthy juices that are said to detoxify and flush out toxins. My favorite is the Red Vegan Detox. They're also selling Indulgence juice now, which is a "dessert" juice. For me, Indulgence tastes better than detox juices (some have after taste) because it's sweeter. The Tropical Blend Indulgence (pineapple + papaya) has this refreshing taste that I can recommend. Foor food, try the Vegetarian Whole Wheat Wrap (portabello mushroom, eggplant, olives, basil). It's a healthy but very filling food. I enjoyed the right mix of herbs. The mushroom was dominant in taste and it was superb! The Mckinley branch looks sophisticated with the huge couches and chandelier. It's nice to sit upstairs though they have a few tables downstairs and outside too.The staff are very friendly. The guy at the counter was willing to answer all my questions on detoxification and the components of every juice bottle. Overall, I got my money's worth.It opens as early as 8am.

I am so happy to have discovered this restaurant that serves delicious, healthy food at the Tuscany along McKinley Hill. I would totally go back to eat there – you don’t have to be in a detox program to eat there.The name Detoxify Bar sounds fancy and intimidating – obviously, as the name states, it is a place where you can find juices and similar products that will help you in your detoxification journey.But this doesn’t mean that you should only go there when you are in a detox program.It is actually a real restaurant, serving real, healthy, delicious food – and you can eat there whenever you want healthy gourmet food.JUICE BLENDS & DETOXDetoxify Bar has several juice blends available, all made with organic produce. They have their detox juices that you can drink as part of a juice cleanse, or as a natural, energizing drink.They have 6 “flavors” of detox juices (click on the links to read about the benefits of each):Green Vegan – apple, cucumber, romaine lettuce, broccoli, celery, moringa, lemonRed Vegan – apple, carrot, lemon, beet, cucumberLemon – lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepperMinty Berry – apple, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, mint leaf, lemonGold – raw ginger ale, chia seedsOrange – carrot, pear, spinach, romaine lettuce, celery, cucumber, lemonYou can also create your own juices!Detoxify Bar’s full detox program (1 day’s worth) costs P1,350.00 – this includes 5 bottles of your choice of juices, 2 bags of organic tea, and a thermal bag to hold all your juices. I was told that the juices should not be refrigerated, but should be kept in the thermal bag for optimal benefits. You can also order detox packs good for several days.DETOX JUICES TASTE DELICIOUS!I was able to try all the detox juices. Thanks, Detoxify Bar! In terms of taste, my favorite was the Minty Berry. The detox juices actually taste pretty good! They taste fruity and don’t have that “vegetable” taste that many picky eaters don’t like, or at least, the “vegetable/ leafy” taste is masked by the apple and other fruits. If you are not yet fully committed to doing several days’ worth of detox, you can just drink the juices as well, juice. I am sure your body will still benefit from all those nutrients.THE FOODNow, after you have finished your detox (or even if you haven’t, like me), Detoxify Bar also offers healthy, gourmet meals.Honestly, the food is good. It was healthy, but it wasn’t bland. I would definitely go back for the food when I’m in the area, even if I am not on healthy eating mode. The tastes are simple, fresh, and the food is done well and cooked perfectly. The flavors are there – the food is delicious – but it is not over the top.We started with the guilt-free, Organic Basil Tomato Soup and 3 Cheese Panini Combo (P375).This was really good – the soup was simple but very delicious, the tomatoes were very fresh. After mostly eating canned/processed tomato sauces, a tomato soup made from fresh tomatoes is just a revelation. There’s extra pesto on the side.The panini was crispy outside, but chewy inside. It was filled with pesto and cheese. So simple, but so good! At P375, I admit, it is a bit pricey for something so simple, but I really liked this dish.We also got to try the Recovery Bowls, which were conceptualized to help our bodies recover after a workout. When we work out, our muscles need to recover quickly, so we need to eat protein-rich meals. We also need good carbs to refuel our energy, as well as recover electrolytes and essential salts lost through sweat.We had the Walnut Crusted Chicken Breast Quinoa Bowl (P365). What more can I say? The chicken is perfectly cooked – very juicy, lightly seasoned, the walnut crust was flavored with rosemary and other herbs and spices. I love how it is topped with alfalfa sprouts, because I love alfalfa sprouts!There is an aioli dip on the side. The quinoa was chewy and nutty. If you haven’t had the chance to try quinoa (pronounced keen-wa), it is a grain that originated in the Andes. It is rich in protein and is a good source of dietary minerals and B vitamins, and is a very good alternative for people who are sensitive to wheat.As for the taste of quinoa, it is an acquired taste. It definitely has a stronger taste than usually bland rice. For me, it is like eating tiny, crunchy, round, wet grains. It tastes nutty and slightly bitter.Greek Salad with Sirloin Strips (P295) – This is just a simple salad of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts and sliced lean beef. There is a slice of lemon on the side. Once you squeeze the lemon and start mixing the salad, the feta cheese “melts” and becomes a creamy dressing. The beef was very tender.This dish was very filling – light, delicious, healthy but still very filling.All the food at Detoxify Bar is organic and they do not use any unhealthy or “processed” ingredients, and for flavor, they make good use of herbs and spices.SUMMARYWhether you are planning a detox or just want healthy but delicious food, try Detoxify Bar. The ambience is quiet and relaxing. Considering that the food is organic and prepared very well, I think their prices are fair.I really am glad that I had the chance to go to Detoxify Bar. I normally would not have even considered going to a place like this, thinking that it only catered to health conscious people. I’m glad I was wrong and I am glad that I discovered how delicious their food is!Service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about their food. The food is cooked upon order so will take some time to be served, but it’s a very acceptable wait.
