You won't go wrong here if you're looking for a quiet lunch or dinner place with good food and an ambiance. This is a place best for eating with a group because serving sizes are for sharing. They serve Taiwanese/Chinese cuisine. I've been here 4 times and ordered different food each time. So far, I haven't tasted anything I didn't like. I particularly love the Taiwanese style fried chicken and fried rice pyramid.

Authentic chinese food albeit expensive. Nice ambience and a good spot for a date. Service is top of the class. I can recommend this place if you wanted to experience taiwanese/chinese food #epicuRon

Up until now, McKinley Hill was an unexplored territory for me. I would see pictures taken at the Venice Grand Canal or hear about newly opened restaurants in the area, but I haven’t found the opportunity to visit them. Thanks to an invitation extended by Saan Sa PH, I was able to explore the area and sample the authentic Chinese dishes of DaTang.

Chinese food has always been one of our favorites! It’s one of three cuisines that we always look forward to having whenever we decide to eat out. Because of that, we already have our own go-to Chinese restaurants in mind like North Park, Mann Hann, Luk Yuen, Le Ching, Wai Ying, and so much more. However, there are still so much more here in Metro Manila that we haven’t even tried yet. That’s why in this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing our first-ever EATSperience of Chinese Food at DaTang in Venice Grand Canal Mall! We’ve just been passing by DaTang before because it kind of looks intimidating and expensive because of its elegant Chinese look. Good thing last week, we were finally given the chance to try it out. Keep on reading to find out if DaTang is worth trying or not!

We were looking for something to eat in Mckinley and we saw this restaurant. It was their soft opening that time. The place is classy and relaxing when you're there. The restaurant is really big and have a great but simple design. When it comes to their food, what I really loved the most is their Dongpo Pork. When you eat it it's like it's melting in your mouth. It's really delicious and tasty. We also ordered the Stir-Fried Prawn with lemon grass, Seafood Salad, and Fio Tiao Qiang. It's all cooked perfectly and served in a generous amount. The service is great and the crew were very friendly and alert every time you need something.

With most restaurants full one rainy night we ended up at Datang for the first time in order to escape the crowd. We loved the ambience of the place which was a clevet mix of the modern and the classic. Staff were very pleasaby and accommodating and made sure we had a great evening. We started with the Hot and Sour Soup which had great flavor and was quite large even with the note it was for 2-4 people. I wished some of the pieces were cut thinner, but on the whole it was a nice warming soup. We paired that with their signature pork which was exquisitely cooked such that the fat was in the brink of rendering down to liquid but remained solid. The flavor really came from a sauce though and not so much the meat itself. Lastly we had a Chayote Leaves dish which was tasty but a little simpler than expected given the restaurant. On the whole it was a nice meal and I can see how this might work better for family eating.

September 25, 2017The boyfie wanted to eat Chinese but wanted to stray from the usual resto where we get that fix. We decided to go around Venice Mall to see if something new has sprung up. Right near the entrance to the mall is this resto we have not seen before and it's Chinese. Well, Chinese fusion according to the servers who greeted us. They were candid enough to inform us that the smaller portions of the dishes they serve are actually good for 2-3 people already. Looking at the prices, and the urge to try something authentic tasting, we gave in. The place was relatively new and it was just us and another group eating at that time. We ordered Sweet and Spicy Shredded Pork (Php280) and some noodle dish that is still not included in their menu. The noodle dish ws really really good, with ample inclusions of seafood. My partner found the pork dish a bit salty and neither sweet ot spicy, but personally it was tasty nonetheless. What I liked about the place is the ambience, with neat chopsticks to help in the degustation as well as the music floating in the background. The staff was very attentive and cordial. We would definitely come back to try their other interesting offerings.

Favorite Chinese restaurant! Everything is fresh and super good! Their Stir Fried Noodles with Seafood and Ribs with Garlic and Chili are the best!!!!! It’s also not expensive for the size and taste. I hope DaTang receives more love cause they deserve it. Ambiance is good, super clean, servers are very attentive, and price is friendly. This place really deserves 5 stars.

Fantastic food, we had lunch here and had the salt n pepper beef, which was delicious, the spicy beef was however too spicy for me, but will definitely return next time I'm back in the Philippines
