Was here 5 years ago for family lunch. It was pretty good as far as I can remember. We had the roasted duck and dimsum. Service was really good and the ambiance was that of an authentic Chinese dining place, lauriat-style.Hind pa kami nabalik kasi medyo malayo ang BGC from where I live.

Sure the ambience is good but I would still prefer Mey Lin Bistro when it comes to authentic Chinese flavors and at more friendly prices. Crystal Jade has toned down the flavors that I find a variety of what we ordered monotonous. Their roast duck was way too ordinary especially after I've tasted Yat Lok's. Their Xiao Long Bao is inconsistent --- some don't have soup inside at all. Their taro dumpling is too big than usual and so one piece is already heavy. I love their hakaw though --- the crunchy shrimps are cooked perfectly and are wrapped in just about the right thickness of chewy wrapper. 😊

Review as of February 2019My family and I celebrated CNY at Crystal Jade to try the Singaporean/Malaysian tradition of "Lo Hei". As one of the few restaurants in Metro Manila serving this dish, and it being relatively close to us, we chose to dine here.The interiors of Crystal Jade is simply stunning. Not too bright and not too dark, the interiors highlighted with gold accents gives off a sense of exclusivity without being too high-brow.I would have to say thought that despite me liking their food, the service is not up to par with what I would have expected from Crystal Jade. One of the dishes we ordered was not served to us, our glasses were never filled (we were given them halfway through our meal too!), and there was a general lack of attentiveness from the waitstaff. A bit disappointing for me to say that this would make me think twice about returning here...Despite that, the food I definitely did enjoy. I have my favorites and some, well, not as much. Twas my first time to try braised duck- was quite good and pumpkin soup with diced seafood. I love the beancurd in kong pao sauce with cashews . And the deep fried pork belly is sooo tender paired with their own version of chinese mustard... so good.. Real authentic Chinese cuisine but on the pricey side.

Unlike some representative delicacies of particular regions of China, "香酥鸭(Deep-Fried Crispy Duck)" is a popular dish in several regional cuisines. It is commonly seen in Sichuan, Jiangsu and Hunan provinces. A duck is seasoned, steamed and fried in order to cook this savoury dish. I brought a bottle of Chateau Beliegard-Figeac to complement tne food. Having evolved in bottle for a few years, this 2011 vintage St-Emilion Grand Cru paired amazingly well with the duck on account of its vibrant fruit and crisp acidity. The Stir-Fried Kailan (芥蓝) with Crab Meat served as a "power-balancer" for the greasy duck and surprisingly had a dubious instead of an antagonistic relationship with the wine.

I got an invite from Ojie to join her for the Lunar New Year Menu Launch of Crystal Jade Restaurant in BGC.Upon entry, I was mesmerized how elegant the restaurant is. Classy interior set up from floor to ceiling.The set consists of 8 dishes in Celebration of Lunar New Year next month. We had the Chinese New Year tradition before trying the dishes. One of the restaurants that has been a destination of choice of the Filipino-Chinese community is Crystal Jade. And it sure has a festive and delectable menu fit to welcome 2018!

Crystal Jade is the place to be for fantastic Chinese cuisine. The hot and sour soup is a must try. Likewise, the mapo tofu and combination platter is exquisitely prepared. Service is great, they are always attentive.
