Buddy's is your no-frills place in the food court when you just need that festive mood of pahiyas in your lunch plate. The pansit Lucban (habhab) is the thing to try and eat whenever you're there. The noodles are specially made by Buddy's suppliers in Lucban. Yup, I've visited their commissary aside from the noodle factory of their supplier. The noodles makes all the difference in texture and taste. The Buddy burger with cheese (P65) is best when it's freshly cooked. It tastes provincially pinoy with a certain sweetness to it in the patty and in the banana ketchup. The Hardinera which comes in small, medium and large sizes, is also worth trying. I thought it came from the word for garden, Jardin, but only to find out it's name is a combination of Hard (it's consistency) and Lanyera (the dish it's cooked in).

Merienda/Early dinner at the Fiesta Market and we had one thing in mind - Buddy's Pancit Lucban. We ordered the serving for 2-3 people which was generous and could be shared by even 4 people. It was served on a banana leaf placed on a wooden platter. We requested for plates. The plates were a bit rundown and some edges had chips. The overflowing pancit was hard to mix and most of the meat and vegetables were placed as toppings. The Pancit was still as good as I remembered and mixing in some vinegar gave it a different flavor profile.

Easy way to have "Pancit Lucban" in the metro!! It's really addicting especially when you put a lot of vinegar in it!! We also love their "hardenera" and it really is the bomb!!! We, manileños, are very lucky that people from Quezon has brought their famous cuisine here!!
