Bistro Madrid by Terry's is one of the Spanish Restaurants that deserves to be known because of every dish that will introduce us to the 17 Regions of Spain. Each dish possess quality ingredients and love for the Spanish food and heritage. So last April 15, website invited some of its verified reviewers to a wonderful Spanish lunch and these are the dishes we had:Chopi Fritos - the Squid is well cooked and blends well with the flour and bleu cheese. It is good with or without the special vinegar.Cocido Bistro Madrid - the meats are all simmered well. The Garbanzos or Chickpeas were chewy and tender, not even intimidating to eat a lot of it 'coz the texture is smooth. The broth is simple but it has a good and flavorful meaty taste.Arroz Al Caldero - the seafoods does not have stinky taste. Each seafood present was well-cooked, tender and chewable. The creaminess of the sauce adds flavor to the seafoods and at the same time the thickness of the broth is perfect with the rice.Callos a Penelope - the Ox Feet was not slimey and easy to chew while the Beef Tripe was easy to cut (I do not usually eat this part of beef 'coz the texture kind of sucks but this one is really tender.) The chorizo added a character to the sauce because of its spice. The sauce is really really good, no words can describe it.Piggy High - the reason why I do not like Chorizo is because I do not like food with too much pepper but Bistro Madrid's Chorizo is a stand out 'coz it is not too peppery. Also, I like this particular Chorizo 'coz it is very tender and does not have too much ligaments or tendons.Terry's Butifarra Sausage - the Sausage is really filling. Having one whole of this after eating a lot is worth it because of how flavorful it is also the texture -- chewy but very meaty.Signature Sangria - has a light and citrusy taste. Goes well with any dish.Chef's Surprise - the desert that was served to us is indeed a great way to end a very festive and fun lunch. The level of sweetness is perfect for a sweet tooth like me and I cannot imagine that bread can be so soft as the one included in this masterpiece.

On April 15, 2019, we had a website Meet-Up at Bistro Madrid by Terry's in Forbeswood Heights, BGC. We were welcomed and accomodated by Ms. Babette Gaborro.Bistro Madrid by Terry's represents the unique taste of the 17 regions of Spain and would show the inlfluence of the Mediterranean cuisine in their dishes. Thus, dining here will let you experience the authentic taste of Spain. Each food were introduced by their head chef, Chef Raul Ávila. He proudly mentioned that most of their ingredients were imported from Spain. So, the quality is top notch. You can feel his passion for cooking as he explained how the foods were prepared. We were served appetizer, mains, desserts, and beverages.📍Chopi-Fritos. A classic appetizer. Deep fried baby squid with melted cheese. Partnered with their vinegar escabeche sauce is just heavenly.📍Cocido Bistro Madrid. This is a Spanish stew. It has meat, embutidos, vegetables, and chickpeas. This stew is perfect for cold weather. Very heartwarming.📍Arroz Al Caldero. Seafood risotto. The shrimp, squid, and fish were perfectly cooked. Delicious!📍Callos Al A Penélope. This callos creation is super good. The meat were very tender. The best thing that I loved about this dish is it doesn't have an aweful after taste.📍Calgados de Toledo. These are the chorizos and sausages served hanging in metal skewers. One has a very mild flavor and the other has a strong flavor. Both were amazingly good and the presentation is very unique.📍Leche Frita. A fried desset. I loved the crisp of the outside and the smooth filling that melts in your mouth. It's filled with cream, sugar, aniseeds, and lemon zest.📍Artisan Ice Cream. This is a very sweet dessert and at the same time it is very yummy. It may look small but it can be shared.📍Signature Sangria. Made with wine from Marqués de Cáceres. The best Sangria!📍Marqués de Cáceres Costanilla. Wine. I'm not a wine person but this is good. The experience here is excellent. Everyone is very friendly. A highly recommended restaurant. A must try!

Bistro Madrid invited us for a food tasting some days ago and we are excited to share some of the items from their menu here.Iberian chef Raul Avila heads their kitchen and brings in classic favorites from around Spain, starting with deep fried baby squid with a blue cheese flavored batter; house-made chorizos and imported Butifarra sausages on hanging skewers; Cocido Madrileño; seafood arroz; and smoky Callos with some really wonderful chickpeas.Chef-patron and master oenologist JC de Terry again drew the menu and its list of Spanish and Old World wines, which you'll notice aren't expensive and very accessible in flavor.Their Sangria, made with Marques de Caceres' jammy Costanilla Tempranillo, is now my favorite in town. Some might argue for a stronger, riper wine, but I think Bistro Madrid's version strikes the right balance between alcohol and fruitiness. For dessert, get their Mantecado ice cream dessert with ladyfingers, cabello de angel (caramelized citrus zest) and Blanxart chocolate from Barcelona. A must! They're open till 1 am on most nights, and they occupy a central location on the Forbeswood strip of BGC.And just like all other Terry's branches, there is a tasteful selection of deli items for sale on the ground floor.

BISTRO MADRIDBurgos Circle, BGCFrom the outside, you will see the retail products that are readily available for purchase like sausages, processed meat, wines of different ages, imported canned products and many more. I assume that they also get their ingredients here.Upon entering the restaurant, smiles of the staffs will welcome you. The place is really cozy and a lot of Spanish design touch will be seen. Tables are covered with large pieces of paper with the map of Spain, which also serve as a placemat. At the 2nd floor you'll find the bar with lots of different wines and a big chunk of meat ( I forgot what it was called). The warm lighting makes it more of a classy place to have a fine dinner while sipping your favorite glass of wine. The Drinks:SIGNATURE SANGRIA 5/5This is one of the most balanced and refreshing sangria I have ever had, not too alcoholic and not too sweet.MARQUES DE CACERES COSTANILLA - RIOJA 3.5/5Is a bright ruby coloured wine with a crisp and fragrant bouquet with lively notes of red berries that highlight the wine's freshness. Pleasant and balanced in the mouth with rounded silky tannis and with the right balance of fruit and discreet vanillin spice. Though I find it a little bit strong, the taste is fine. The Foods:CHOPITO-FRITOS 4/5A classic appetizer of deep fried baby squid called CHOPITOS in Spanish, is sprinkled with strong bleu cheese accompanied with a vinegar escabeche sauce which is perfect dip for this deep fried babies.COCIDO BISTRO MADRID 4.5/5The most renowned Spanish stew composed of various local meats, embutidos, vegetables and chickpeas / garbanzos which is slowly simmered to achieve the most tender and flavorful meal. Chicken and pork are so tender, embutidos/sausages are so flavorful and the soup is in perfect saltiness. A little more color could be added though.ARROZ AL CALDERO 5/5Seafood risotto slow-cooked in a Mediterranean pot. The fish is cooked well and no trail of fishy taste, other seafood are cooked just right, and the rice taste fine with the complimentary taste of the seafoods that comes with it.CALLOS A LA PENELOPE 4/5A unique callos creation which is a homage to Penelope Casas, the famous American food author and connoiseur on fine wines and Spanish Cuisine. What I like most about this dish is that the meat is so tender and flavorful. The meat from the pata falls of the bones and the unexplainable texture makes you want more.PIGGY HIGH 3/5Chorizo Terry flambeed in Sherry Brandy. The sausages which I find a little bit salty are presented in hanging metal skewers together with sweet cherry tomatoes. It also comes with a plate of crispy onions rings. Both are perfect for fine wine or cold beer.TERRY'S BUTIFARRA SAUSAGE 5/5Catalonian sausages with grilled tomatoes and pieces of red bell pepper are also served in hanging metal skewers. It is also served with a plate of great tasting potatoes with herbs and sauce. The taste of the sausage was balanced and not too salty which I find perfectly delicioso!LECHE FRITA 4/5A fried delicacy filled with culinary cream, sugar, cinnamon, aniseeds, and a touch of lemon zest. At first I find it weird having the taste of aniseeds in a dessert, but at the end I was convinced that it was a dessert. This is a must try soft jiggly sweet dessert!ARTISAN ICE CREAM BY BISTRO MADRID 4/5Mantecado ice cream with lady fingers plus caramelized citrus zest (cabello de angel) and Blanxart chocolate from Barcelona; is a one of a kind dessert for the Gods. This is the ultimate dessert for those who have sweet tooths. So if you want to have some awesome meal with fine wines and terrific ambiance, this is the place to be.

Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - accomodatingAmbience ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - stayed at the second floor and it was just way too warm. Would appreciate it if it was a bit colder than room temperature Food & drinks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had Chopi-Fritos, Paella, and meat & cheese platter. Of course a bottle of wine. Nothing exceptional about their food. Their Paella is okay. Everything is just okay. We like coming to this place because not a lot of people come here. Place is cozy and we love the location.
