Am so excited to share our dining experience and how we went a little lavish enjoying a full board meal at the Restaurant Verbena, that’s critically lauded as one of the ‘best restaurants in Tagaytay‘, and we were so thrilled then to indulge ourselves.Oh dear! It has been an ultimate dining experience for a website family like us! Every dish was beautifully served with locally sourced and farm-fresh ingredients. As you scroll down the page of this blog, get ready to feast your eyes and drool over these mouthwatering food photos that am very much excited to share with you.And oh, we soooo love the fresh air and green surroundings with a magnificent view of the Taal Lake!Indeed, it’s been a happy family day that we have a happy appetite too to savour the hearty and healthy dishes that was served to us for Lunch. We’ve picked a variety of best sellers from the a la carte menu, and this large hot pot filled with flavorful, soft, melty mozzarella cheese as a dip to a warm focaccia have kick start our appetite! Is there anything more soothing than a bowl of this reach and creamy soup?It was also nice to add some more greens to balance our plate with a delicious and fresh salad…This cheesy Prawns Termidor is truly a seafood delight!I’ve always been a fan of Ribeye Steak, and the tender melt in your mouth of this decadent cut of steak is so worthy of the price! The salmon skin on top of the dish is so crisp, and the pink fillet is so rich and buttery! My little spaghetti monster had a full plate of this all for himself! 😉A taste of Filipino-style cheesecake in a richer, creamier, and cheesier way!Chocolate lovers… this warm, ooey, gooey chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla bean ice cream is perfect for you!Oh dear, we’ve eaten quite a large meal that we ended up stuffed after an indulgent lunch, so we got sleepy and took some siesta time (afternoon nap)! Then came the evening, a Set Dinner for 2 with a 4-course meal awaited us.We started off with the Soup of the Day- Asparagus Cream Soup … it’s pure comfort in a bowl 😉This deliciously succulent Barramundi is made more delectable with butter sauce and served on top of Edamame. I shared this plate with my little boy, and he loved it as well too 🙂While the husband enjoyed this juicy and incredibly tender Braised Beef, the little boy liked the taste of the veggie side dish!Sigh we’d love to try the Panna Cotta though the restaurant had run out of it. Instead, we had this sweet and smooth baked custard Creme Flan. The next day, we were so excited to start the day having an exceptionally good Country Breakfast…I’ve always believed that when eating a balanced breakfast, you’ll surely have a better morning 😉And oh, may I say this in Tagalog, “Gustung-gusto ko talaga ang manga!” I just love eating mango regardless if it is green or ripe 😉Me and my husband got excited as we’ve been served with a warm, thick, bittersweet Tsokolate de Batirol and a perfect pair of Hot Pandesal with Coconut Jam spread. A variety of freshly baked breads and pastries are so delicious too!Since we woke up a bit late, we decided to pick the Mains from the Country Breakfast Menu.My husband had this perfectly marinated tender Beef Tapa that went well with garlic fried rice and fried egg.…and for myself, it may not be ideal, but I couldn’t miss not having this all time favorite Filipino breakfast, Garlic Longganisa! It has been priceless moments to bring our family together over good food and meaningful conversations. Our smiles and cheers to the Chef and Team of Restaurant Verbena for your warm hospitality and excellent service that brought us with a full belly and a happy heart!

We had our dinner last night and felt like we rented the whole restaurant to ourselves! We were looking for a nice restaurant and this was recommended by website. And we are glad that we picked Verbena. My Bf was amazed on how the food is presented and quality of food is superb! The ambiece is so good and felt like we had a personal butler! Not that we wanted to have one but we were impressed on how we were accommodated. We were also surprised on the complimentary cake! For me the food price is competitive and fair based on the quality of food, service and place. Definitely we will be back and recommend Verbena to our family and friends!Thank you so much for making our Anniversary Dinner amazing! We enjoyed every minute at Verbena!More power!

The ambiance of this resto is definitely a winner. It's good for dates or just to have a quiet family celebration or dinner. This is opposite to what you normally get from Tagaytay during holidays which invites the frenzy of people.First the food before I comment on my experience here. We ordered the oyster ruben, clam chowder and mushroom and truffle pizza. My family and I were still full from our Balay Dako buffet so we didn't get to eat a lot. We were given free bread which is always a plus. The different spreads were good to have. The highlight for me was the oysters. It was cooked well and no hint of lansa or slimy seafood taste. The pasta underneath complemented the oyster well and also the hints of caviar sauce. Next, the clam chowder was a bit disappointing. I had it split into two but I found it too small despite the price. I also found it a bit lacking in clams and flavor. Last was the pizza. It was too bland (perhaps it was the dough or not enough mushroom/truffle flavor) and didn't like the type of dough. Nevertheless, I liked that it was cheesy. Price-wise, it has a premium and a little overpriced though not as expensive as Manila hotels.Just some additional things to share on my particular experience. I tried to book a reservation using website but it was rejected. So I called the number listed here and I was able to get a reservation. I don't know why the discrepancy but I hope website or Verbena can fix this since there was just 1 other table dining besides from us. Also, after we ate, the waitress offered us free dessert since they told us that we booked using website with at least 1k spend. Well actually I got rejected I told her, but I think she didn't understand me. So we chose the free dessert, chocolate marquis. To cut the long story short, when we were about to pay, there was some confusion to the discount we can/cannot get. Basically they told us we cannot get senior citizens discount or HSBC 10% discount since we already availed of the website freebie. I don't think they conflict and if they did, I would appreciate it if they at least informed us first of this condition since they were the ones to offer us the free dessert.

Our family decided to take a short trip to Tagaytay for a break from city life. We arrived in Tagaytay just in time for lunch at the Cafe Verbena in the Discovery Country Suites. The Discovery Country Suites is part of the Discovery Hotels & Resorts Group; a very reputable company that is known for their higher end hotels. This particular hotel of theirs is quite small, there was only ten tables in the dining area and the swimming pool was maybe just 4 meters by 4 meters big; definitely not what I'm used to from the Discovery Group. Though small, the atmosphere is very quaint; great for some quiet time away from the city. Less guest means less noise and that's probably the main goal of the hotel (perfect goal for the location: Tagaytay). The interior of the hotel is designed like a loghouse adding to the peaceful and quiet atmosphere. Cafe Verbena is at the main dining area of the hotel. I'm not sure how this works out for the breakfast of the guests, but I'd assume the restaurant serve their breakfast as well.We ordered the Pan Roasted Seafood (to try out a variety of their seafood) and the Herb Risotto. The seafood was good with various herbs and sauces to compliment the meat. The Herb Risotto was a bit too creamy for me, but an interesting taste nevertheless (I guess I'm really not into Risotto). We ordered chicken fingers for our son as well, take note that these kiddie meals are not on their menu but are available.Service is top notch as expected. The experience was overall very good. The pricing is high though but high quality and top notch experience oftentimes require high pricing.

Beware of your orders in this resto. They are serving raw chicken that will cause you food poising and gastro. Very dissappointed cause they are pricey and yet their food were not properly prepared .

Good ambiance and great service. This is a good place for business meals. The Bulalo and baby back ribs are excellent. The mash potato is great. Rice quality need to be improved. Try the starter pork and clams in tomato sauce. It was a great surprise. Price is in the high side around P2k for 3 people without drinks

We went for dinner and did not enjoy the view but we did enjoy the food. Fish dinner made of homard bisque and a spectacular 700g Lapu Lapu fish enough for two. Both were tasty but I believe soup was a bit pricey given the quantity and could be a good 20% cheaper. The vast majority of dishes are filipinos and I am surprised it is defined as Italian restaurant. Nice atmosphere although nothing very original in the decor. Polite service.

Restaurant Verbena is Discovery Country Suites in house restaurant. Beautifully designed and with a relaxing view of the lake on its veranda. Restaurant also provides wi-fi. Ordered the Southern Style Chicken, and its Beef Tapa. Beef tapa was too overwhelmingly marinated and seasoned and I lost my appetite halfway through, and was unable to finish my food. Southern Style Chicken however saved the day, it was delicious and the serving was more than enough for one person. However, food here are far too expensive for its taste. I should definitely come back here and try different items on their menu, some of its menu may redeem my unenjoyable experience.

If you are looking for a date place in Tagaytay, THIS IS IT. The restaurant is located in Discovery Country Suites. So Verbena has that country rustic ambiance.Service is remarkable, as expected from Discovery. Staff are quick, courteous, and well trained.Food is very good. For a light snack, you can just have the cheese pot. Good for sharing as the serving is quite generous. Order extra focaccia. It is that good. You can even come here just for dessert. But if you have the budget, go all out and have a full dining experience. And get ready for your date's reward right after. And for special occasions, try booking one of their rooms. Definitely an experience you will never forget.

We availed of their breakfast buffet, which was part of the package when you check-in, in one of the rooms at Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay. The fact that the restaurant was seated in an area that had a great view, where you can feel the cold Tagaytay breeze in your face, was already a huge plus for Verbena Restaurant.I ordered the Country Benedict, which, to be honest, was just so-so. Although the egg was cooked to perfection and the presentation was worthy of a praise from Chef Gordon Ramsay, it lacked a bit of flavor for me. Alongside this, they offered unlimited fresh fruit juices (try the watermelon and pineapple variants—very refreshing!), assorted breads and pastries, cereals and fruits. The breakfast also came with unlimited coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. If you would opt to avail of just the breakfast buffet, exclusive of the room check-in, this will cost you PHP495, plus service charge. Customer service was above average; the staff was warm and accommodating. A little bit too proactive though, as they took my coffee before I was finished with it, which they immediately replaced apologetically. So all good 👍🏼Overall an ideal place to dine and relax with friends or family. Will definitely be back 😊
