The place is just as classic and colorful as any Pinoy home could be. From retro lamps, wooden furniture, and cozy ambiance, Pinoy na Pinoy talaga! It’s super cute as well for the photos if you’re into IG gaming. What I also loved was there’s power socket on each corner so I was able to charge my device. Woo! Not all restaurants have that!The downside, though, was that they take too long to serve the food. I was super hungry when they finally arrived , but then I realized it’s just because they prepare it upon order. Pinoy food is known being okay and still yummy even when cold (or at least most Pinoy dishes are okay) but food served fresh from the fire is much yummier, you cannot deny it’s quality. So my boredom went away as I had bites from each dish. Sarap, bes! But seriously, expect longer waiting time if you dine in Siglo. Worth it naman, frienny. “There's no better way to understand a culture than through food”. I think I’ve said this several times already in a couple of my blog posts, and it can never so true enough. We associate a certain taste to a region or a country. Say for example in the Philippines, Bicol Region is easily a place where cuisine is known, most often than not, spicy. Mediterranean food is packed-full of spices; Japan is known for raw food; South East Asia has rice as its staple fare. There is more of a connection between food and culture than we may think; it operates as an expression of cultural identity.

BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO TRY OUT THIS RESTAURANT!Here are my higlights:1. Food is great especially their ADOBO LAGITIK SA PINYA! It’s Pork belly adobo with sweet Tagaytay pineapple. Very remarkable!2. The servers are like TOUR GUIDES that will actually walk you through with the menu thoroughly and all fun favtsbper dish in there. They absolutely know the history of every dish and will really take your taste buds around the Philippines! This is the best menu story telling I have ever encountered in my life! 😊🙌🏻It's a must visit guys! Check them out! :D

The food is great and you surely feel at home with its relaxing ambiance and also I commend the staff for they are so hospitable and and jolly the only thing I didn’t like is that there are lots of mosquitos while we are eating.😢

This is a fantastic place in Tagaytay. The ambiance is perfect for catching up with long lost friends or a sweet date in the midst of the cold and breezy air in the mountains. They also have a performing band (when we went on a Saturday night) to keep with the lively yet chill vibe of the place.We had the adobo fried chicken. It was marinated/cooked like adobo before being fried. Its taste was on-point sweet yet salty. No need for sauce already. However, it was a bit too dry for friend chicken. Perhaps, it was a little bit over.Aligue fried rice was nothing more than what you can imagine. Just basic plain aligue rice with scallions on top.Their gising-gising was delicious! The coconut milk was a little concentrated with bits of chili (though could be improved). The veggies were cooked well, along with the shrimp which complimented the dish well. It's a must-order for me to balance with the other "nakakaumay" Filipino foods.The papaitan was served hot, although I wished they simmered it more to make the soup more consistent. While it's not the most delicious papaitan I've tasted due to lack of thickness and sourness for me, the servings of innards were generous. Also, the taste gets better while you devour it.We also ordered the grilled tuna belly, which I wasn't excited at all. Yet, surprisingly, it was great! Marinated perfectly in like a toyomansi flavor, the meat was also tender and tasty with that smoky feels.Weirdly though, their appetizer sampler arrived late. The sisig was crispy and tasty; the calamari was nothing special. Buffalo chicken wings were tasty and crunchy, very buffalo-y. The wings are a must order for me, they were really delicious.Perhaps, I'd come back to try their new dishes that they would be launching in their menu that they said is on the way.

Traquil ambiance caters a relaxing atmosphere to end stressful day at work. great food especially sinigang na hipon, i love how the warm soup contrasts the cold weather. Poqui-poqui is fair in my honest opinion. 4.7 in my rating

Learn geography, history, and culture with your food. Come here for an awesome Filipino experience.So before 2018 ended me and my friends decided to do some food hopping around the south of metro manila and this was our first stop. The place wasn’t too huge but for some reason it didn’t feel too tight. The outside feels modern but once you get inside, you’ll feel that authentic filipino vibe. Super nice. So, we ordered some of their best-sellers and the server was kind enough to explain all the dishes and why they were named as such. I swear, the story-telling was amazing! And I learned a lot. Ok, so we got the below:* Adobo Lagitik sa Piña - Your typical chicken adobo with a little bit of sweetness due to the pineapple. Meat was cooked well and the marinade wasn’t too overpowering. * Tawilis Malunggay Pasta - Strangely good but not my fave. Pasta is a little bit overcooked and the dish was a tad oily. * Maruya with Barako Jelly - We got this for dessert and was happy we did. The bitterness of the barako jelly really complimented well the sweetness of the banana fritters. Yum!* Uray-mansi - We thought this was strane so we got this. Fell in love with this one of a kind drink which was made from grass and kalamansi. Really great experience here and would recommend this to someone going to Tagaytay.

The best Chicken Binakol! Very nice theme wherein you get to eat all the specialties of different places in the Philippines. Plus they offer mini puzzles and crosswords while customers are waiting for the food. That was brilliant 😁

Siglo Modern Filipino served our delicious buffet lunch during the recently concluded Sustainable Dining talk facilitated by the environmental group, WWF. We had Sinampalukang Manok, Poqui Poqui, Fish Fillet and Inihaw na Liempo. For dessert, their firm yet creamy Leche Flan. Pineapple Juice was served. I enjoyed the Poqui Poqui the most, grilled skinless eggplant mixed with ground meat, tomatoes and onions. Simple yet very flavorful because of the cooking process. It paired nicely with the inihaw na liempo. The Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet was so light i hardly tasted the fish, i believe they used Dory fish fillet. The sinampalukang manok was perfect for the Tagaytay rain outside, imagine partaking spoonfuls of this sour soup, alternating with vegetable and chicken while enjoying the view of rain outside. It was just a nice way to have it. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch, we also get to immediately practice what we learned during our sustainable dining talk. They was hardly any food waste because everyone finished all of the food on their plate. Recommended place to visit when in Tagaytay.
