Ever since the extended family discovered the wonders of Korean cuisine that Tagaytay has to offer several years ago, a sojourn here is hardly complete without a meal at a Korean restaurant. One such eatery is Neul Bolm Korean Restaurant which has moved to a new location since our last visit.  (Incidentally, it is tagged on website as “Permanently Closed” but as confirmed by the wait staff and this review, it is still very much in operation.)

Nuel Bolm doesn't look quite appealing from the outside. Just a few meters from Sky Ranch and a few blocks away from Summit Ridge, this lone single floor building looks old and you'll barely see the resto sign. If you go inside, you'll notice right away that they don't have airconditioning systems (now that's a personal preference); personally, I didn't really mind. Dining furniture pieces like tables and chairs are also pretty old but pretty clean. But don't be afraid--the general vibe is the kind of old that doesn't make you feel iffy about the food. It gave off a dining experience that's similar to visiting my grandparents' house for lunch (if you know what I mean).Anyway, the food...The food was tasty. They offer an array of side dishes for every order of grilled meat. If you order two plates of grilled somethings from the menu, you get free two servings of rice and two bowls of kelp soup. We only ordered one pork dish, so we didn't get to use the table griller and they cooked it for us. But I must say, they prepared our Jeyuk Bukum really well. It had a delightful amount of sweet chili sauce sautéed with onions, leeks, and sesame seeds. The Dolsot Bibimbab was served sizzling in a stone pot, filled almost to the brim with vegetables and strips of grilled beef, topped with one raw egg that cooks off from the pot's heat. Some side dishes I recalled: a plateful of fresh lettuce, thin slices of pickled radish, kimchi, korean rolled tamago, and fermented soy chili paste. All of the sides can be refilled only once. Also, if you don't want to order drinks, fret not-- they serve a complimentary pitcher of cold tea.

Went back to Neul Bolm after more than 5years, this time, with my family. I didn't realize right away that it was the same restaurant where I tasted Korean dishes for the first time. That since then, I've been in loved with Korean food. I guess their prices didn't change that much.Cha Dul Begi - These are thin slices of marinated beef grilled on our table. Best to eat after grilling as the meat tend to get tougher. I also noticed there were less side dishes than the first time I went here.Dolsot Bibimbap - I love their Dolsot Bibimbap and it was good to be shared by two people (for our case, three). It was on the spicy side but it was the kind of spice that I would want another spoonful! I love how all the ingredients -- egg, vegetables, rice, and whatever that Korean sauce is -- and flavors mix well together, literally.Jabchea - I was surprised to see that it was of big serving, can be shared by 3 to 4 people, and was loaded with ingredients too. I am not sure if it was really how it is, but I find the noodles a bit soggy or maybe slimy. I would prefer it sweeter also. We had Korean ice cream for dessert. No pictures though. Mine was like ice cream sandwich, which both my son and I enjoyed. It was nice to be back in this place after some years, with not much have changed. I know I'll get to visit this place again someday.

Tried this place too last night! We'd always drive by (my familia has a place in Southridge now) and so we wanted to try it. This place is great, but we prefer Ci Yoo better (sorry Neul Bolm - you're not a bad restaurant. We just prefer the other place

In this post: Cha Dul Begi, Dolsot Bibimbap, Jabchea, Korean Ice Cream I was a lot younger then. It was probably more than 5 years ago. A lot of things I do not know and I haven't tried. But I can still remember when my friend introduced it to me. He taught me the proper way to enjoy it. And it was a lot fun with friends. It was my first time... my first time to try Korean food. And yes, it was at Neul Bolm Korean Restaurant. It was in Tagaytay.

Tucked away in the cozy streets of Tagaytay is a custom Korean Restaurant I will always love to go back to.Tagaytay is a place close to my heart which makes me worn out of the bulalo craze already. And since I am always down for Korean barbecue, I waved the famous bulalo cliche and shift to Korean barbecue instead.Their Samgyubsal and Cha dul Begi are jaw-dropping because of how substantial the grilled side pork and beef silicates are. They are both absolutely thick and savory. Everything from the sides, the traditional korean ambiance, the meaty pork and beef itself and also the warm service are worth way beyond its value. My money's worth got multiplied by how pleased I am.Neul Bolm Korean Restaurant is worth the gamble to switch from your usual bulalo habit whenever you visit Tagaytay. And just like me, experience how your moola gets multiplied by the satisfaction you will endure.

Okay lang yung lasa ng meat and sides nila but the food portions are tiny. Lalo na yung sides and yung meat. We also noticed na mas marami yung serving ng sides nila dun sa mga korean nilang customers and we find it discriminating since pare parehas naman kaming customers. Yung kimchi nila na sinerve samin parang tatlong piraso lang ng cabbage samantalang dun sa korean customers over flowing yung kimchi na sinerve nila. I thought masasatisfy ako since nagbasa pa ako ng reviews but sad to say hindi. Anyway there's always a room for improvement and sana nga mag improve pa sila para balik balikan sila ng customers.

It was a cold Sunday late evening when we went here. I will always remember how they welcomed us kahit na they were about to close the restaurant operation for that day.We ordered a lot of items from the menu and we felt so lethargic and full after. Mas masarap talaga kumain spicy foods kapag nasa malamig na lugar, so that's why we enjoyed our dinner tremendously.Neul Bolm in Tagaytay is in my honest opinion the most authentic Korean restaurant in the area. It is run by Korean immigrants and Filipino staff. Located just across Sky Ranch. Will be back again to this place very soon! 😊

We went here because we wanted to try no-meat meals so we decided to look for samgyupsal resto. We went here on an afternoon of a weekday, maybe this explains why we are the only ones dining at that time. The place is simple, especially from the outside, nothing special but on the inside its more than simple na. The food, is very good for its price. We ordered 2 meats (beef and pork slices), side dishes included already. They also have complimentary tea. We are not very particular with types of meat but we are satisfied with the ones we ordered. We just paid around 700php thats inclusive of 500ml coke zero. We also hada takeout since we were not able to finish the meal. We will deifinietly come back here.
