whenever we visit Tagaytay, we always make sure to stop by Josephine. Ambience is superb, they have a huge dinning area that can accommodate a lot of guests. Food is just wow and the staff friendly. They have this back area where Taal is just over-looking.

I've been to Josephine's a few times and this restaurant has never disappointed me. There is a wide variety on their menu, and I've tasted 10 different dishes that were all gastronomically impressive. My other favorite thing about this place is the service. The waiters are very professionally trained and are always delightful to deal with.

Food is okay but staff are all rude especially their manager. On our first visit, We told them the food we ordered is so salty, all 8 of us in the table agreed that its too salty to eat. Then the manager came to our table saying that its not. And when i tried to speak he walked away, didnt even listen.Second visit, we went there 8.30pm on a weekday, they said they close at 10pm. So that’s fine we still came early. But since its a weekday and we are the only table that they were serving that time, their waiters are all looking at us every now and then asking us if that’s all we need as if they want us to hurry up.

I literally yelled wow as I first entered Josephine Restaurant and saw the fascinating view of Taal Volcano in the outdoor alfresco area. Service was warm and of course, the ambiance was relaxing inside and out.Probably one of the refreshing and soothing soups I tasted in Tagaytay, especially while enjoying the majestic view of Taal Volcano, is their Bulalo. A big bowl is enough to share with the family and friends. I like how the beef was meaty!Mutya ng Cavite is another bestseller of Josephine. It was a creamy seafood soup. I like how there's more serving of seafood inside. To give you some spice, you should try the Prawns Braised in Chili Sauce, These prawns are bathing in a sweet/spicy sauce. These are savory and don't worry, the spiciness is tolerable.Their Shanghai Style Fried Rice is like a fried rice for breakfast and even without another dish to pair with, you can eat it as it is because it has some bits of ham, eggs, and assorted veggies on it.It's best to dine here in a group to save more. Bring your family and friends and enjoy the majestic view of Taal while making sure you get full with their food.

Nothing beats a bowl of Josephine’s bone marrow soup after plodding through the ever worsening Tagaytay traffic. Their Bulalo is the text book definition of what comfort food is, it’s the cheap bedroom slipper you’d much rather wear vs Italian high heels. It’s simple, straight forward and it checks all the boxes. Much like their famous bulalo, Josephine’s “Mutya ng Cavite” seems to be giving the bulalo a run for its money as my go to comfort dish. It’s a localized version of a more loaded (this soup is like an aquarium) and refined clam chowder. The soup is smooth and creamy and is given more character by the various fresh seafood they stewed it with. All this talk has made me crave for soup, I’m tempted to take that 2 hour drive just to scratch this itch.

Josephine Restaurant before becoming the gateway to Tagaytay is a huge expanse of a property in low lying Cavite. Their Tagaytay branch is now better known to travellers because of its iconic facade with a truly Filipino interiors. The view is unparalleled until now, offering an unobstructed view of the lake. Food is still delicious, nostalgic at best. Their Bulalo is a must, the glistening marrow, soft beef, corn, cabbage and beans will truly warm your stomach. The Chili Buttered Prawns was a nice pair with the hefty Shanghai Fried Rice. So good, it can be had on its own! All this, with the view. Best way to spend your weekends with loved ones. Recommended.

While the view was great and the food was decent, the service was very very poor. Most of the staff were just standing on one corner chatting and gossiping about. As a customer, you would be ashamed to call their attention as it would disrupt their social gathering.

Not only the choices of Filipino dishes but also their great location catching all the picturesque moment for the overlooking of Taal Volcano. Magnanimous, indeed, food and views are great combination as for any dining experience. We got the simplest since we are going on a trip around Tagaytay. Seafood bonanza of steamed seafood platter and sinigang sa miso na isda and fried rice. Super food for body and soul. Gracing the environment this coming Yuletide Season.
