Yen Yen started as a small business that sells Taiwanese sauces. Then it evolved into a noodle cart business that sells beef wanton noodles which is located in Shaw Boulevard. And because their stall is too small to accommodate large number of customers they transferred into a bigger place in San Juan. The restaurant can accommodate 25-30 persons. Yen Yen serves a variety of dishes like noodles, dim sum, pork and chicken dishes and also desserts. The owner of Yen Yen let us try 7 of their best dishes. Here are the sumptuous meals that we tried:Taipei Braised Beef Noodle Soup. This is one of their bestseller dish. The soup is perfect during chilly weather. The beef is so tender to chew. The soup has a mixture of flavour. It is somewhat sweet with a little bit of salty taste.Taiwan Special Fried Rice. I love their fried rice. It is so flavourful. This goes well with their fried dishes.Taiwan pork chop. This is my favorite among the dishes I’ve tried at Yen Yen. The meat is perfectly cooked because it’s crispy and yet juicy inside. The serving is also big perfect for sharing. This goes well with their three sauces: wasabi mayo, chili sauce and their garlic sauce.Hot and Spicy Pork Blood and Intestine. If you’re a fan of Dinuguan then this dish is for you. I am not that fan of dinuguan but this one taste good. This dish has a mixture of flavors. It is uber spicy but delicious.Stir Fry Pork Kidney. I was my first time to try pork kidney at first I am kinda hesitant to try it but when I did oh it taste so good. The pork kidney is so tasty. It’s soft to bite and it has no after taste.Taiwan Sate Chami. This is the Taiwanese version of our pansit. This meal is actually complete because it has vegetables, noodles and meat. The serving is good for 1-2 persons.Boiled Dumplings. This was freshly made by one of the owners of Yen Yen. The filling consists of vegetables and meat. You can eat this with or without sauce.Another must try at Yen Yen is their Green Iced Tea. You can order this regular or bottomless.Overall I will rate Yen Yen 4/5 because they serve good quality and affordable meals. Thank you again website for inviting me in this event.Yen Yen Taiwanese Street FoodP. Guevarra corner Wilson Street, Little Baguio, San Juan City(02) 234 2162Opens at 11 AM to 11 PM

Yen yen restaurant served authentic Taiwanese fare. The place is quite small and if not for their brightly lit sign, one wouldn't even notice it. Their best sellers are the noodles, stir fried kidney, dumplings and porkchop. The restaurant offers delivery option as long as it is within the vicinity.

Chanced upon this place on a Sunday evening and at almost 11pm, people were still eating. Ordered chicken chops, fried wontons, and salt and pepper tofu -- all were good, prices are affordable too.

Yen Yen is a Taiwanese cuisine restaurant featuring the very popular fried chicken chop and pork chop. I tried this place twice already since they moved from gilmore/granada. The first time we actually ate there and the second time I took out some chicken chop to munch on.The service and the place is okay. Their prices match the setup of the place and service is apt.The food is also okay, it's nothing special though and personally if based on taste alone I would choose other Taiwanese restaurants to eat. However, their pricing is lower than the others. Matching said pricing with acceptable food quality makes yen-yen a not so bad option.

Last week I had a late lunch at Yen Yen and i am so hungry that time I ordered one of my favorite dimsum the Spicy Wonton as my appetizer and Seafood Bihon Soup as my main.  All taste deliciously good.   I ended up with their house special ice cream.  I am totally satisfied, so full and feel bloated. So yummy.

Yen-Yen Taiwan Street Food: Your Gateway to Authentic Taiwanese DishesYen-Yen restaurant is a small place along the P. Guevara corner Wilson streets in San Juan. Been passing this joint on many occasions since I live within the city for years now but never had to chance to savor their dishes.  Good thing a friend invited me over for late lunch and I am so lucky that I accepted this invite for several good reasons.FOOD: Yen-Yen has an in-house chef, a cool guy who formally studied Culinary Arts in a top school. He is the one responsible in crafting Yen-Yen top dishes along with his family, keeping the secrets of real Taiwanese cooking revealed in each delicious dish that they serve. Overall, Yen-Yen food is exceptionally good considering the ingredients, cooking technique and taste.1) Taiwan Special Fried Rice (photo no.1)- Slightly seasoned but yummy.2) Taiwan Pork and Chicken Chops (photo no.2)- These are the bombs when it comes to fried chops. Friends have been recommending this to me and wondered what’s with it. So I requested for a yen-yen pork and chicken chops and I tell you the rumor is not a rumor at all. These are the finest fried chops I ever tasted. Super yummy, super tender and seasoned well.  Kids would just love these. It comes with 3 types of sauces- wasabi mayo, garlic and chili. Thin slice of meat, battered and fried to perfection. A must for all pork chop and fried chicken lovers. I personally love the Chicken Chops- it’s a different take to the usual fried chicken. 3) Taipei Braised Beef Noodle (photo no.3)- this noodle dish is very satisfying. Yen-yen made it authentic using Taiwan noodles, light braise sauce and delicately seasoned to just please the palate. Nothing too empowering, just simple tasty noodle dish that is comforting.4) Stir Fried Pork Kidney (photo no.4)- I don’t normally eat innards if I do I go for the ones deeply fried. But this Yen-Yen specialty dish is something worth trying. It is delicate with just the right spices; the kidney meat is super yummy. It has a soft smooth texture that feels lovely with every bite. 5) Hot & Spicy Pork Blood and Intestine (photo no.5 and 6)- Ooh..this dish really stirred my imagination. From the way it was presented on a hot stainless pot, steaming and oozing with fragrant spices in the air. There is something unique and special about yenyen top selling dish than the normal ‘dinuguan” Pinoy dish that we all know. This one has a savoury taste, rustic, earthy, spicy and delicious. The pork intestine and blood have a delicate and soft texture which is satisfying to the mouth. Not only this dish is served piping hot- the mixture of spices in the broth is extra special. This is a MUST TRY for all foodies out there.6) Taiwan Sate Chani Dumpling (photo no. 7 and 8)- the looks complicated but I tell you this Yen-Yen dimsum dish is oozing with freshness. Made from scratch with dumpling roll made fresh in their kitchen which gives it an extra special touch. The filling is simple with bits of pork meat and veggies. The dumpling texture is just perfect to the bite and with just the right seasoning that compliments the dish delicate taste.7) Taiwan Chami (pancit) (photo no.9)- For all pansit lovers out there this Yen-yen pancit dish is extra special. Just look at the heaping toppings of meat slices and veggies on top plus the exceptional cooking technique with just the right combination of seasoning make this Chami dish yummy and awesome.Other considerations: Yen-Yen Taiwan Street Food restaurant’s pricing is very reasonable. No need to break a bank to enjoy a hearty Taiwanese meal here. The place is small great for casual dining and they also deliver within the vicinity.Points to improve: I just hope the restroom which is unisex will be clean the next time I visit. Aside from the cleanliness of the common CR Yen-yen should also prioritize in fixing the restroom’s hardware, improve the looks of it probably remodel it to look modern and neat. The bowl has no handle on the flush- you have to pull the tiny wire to flush it down. Oh well..please do something about it. Another thing: The 3 chop sauces are all served straight from the refrigerator which I can understand why but I would rather have my sauce in a temperature range that would match either the Pork or the Chicken Chops. I could tolerate a cold sauce if I am going to use it on a cold salad. VERDICT on YEN-YEN San Juan:I came for the food and Yen-yen did not disappoint me. It’s very hard to please someone like me since I consider myself a food critic- I do cook too. I now have a deeper appreciation of Taiwan cuisine and thanks to Yen-yen for that.  Quality and value wise- I highly recommend Yen-Yen Taiwan Street Food in P. Guevara cor. Wilson in San Juan City. No need to travel far to Taiwan to experience authentic dishes. Just come over and enjoy Taiwanese cuisine at Yen-Yen!

Merienda/Dinner date with the sissums!!! 😃 Yen Yen's been on our list for quite some time luckily we did have a time to try their food. What I had is the Chicken Chop Rice for only Php 140 while my sister on the other hand had their Crispy Fish Fillet for Php 140 as well. I loved the Chicken Chop Rice what I didn't liked about it is that it was completely covered with too much breading but the taste and flavor was good especially when dipped in their homemade sauce. As for the Crispy Fish Fillet, the meat was very soft given the fact that it was also breaded. Service was great too the servers were very accommodating and attentive.

Never eating here again. Full tables with just 1 waiter. The waiter wasn't even accommodating at all. Never responds whenever we ask him a question since he's in a rush to serve everyone.

Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Italian dishes are too mainstream for you? How about having a taste of Taiwanese cuisine? Here at Yen Yen, you can have a taste for these different Taiwanese dishes and also enjoy some exotic dishes which you might tell to yourself, "Oh my, it's surprisingly delicious!" Yen Yen is serving wide variety of Taiwanese dishes - from rice meals to their specialties, from noodles to soups, from dimsum to exotic dishes and from drinks to desserts. Of course, we tried some of the dishes which makes Yen Yen a must-dine place:✔ Craving for some fried rice? Their Taiwan Special Fried Rice is perfect for you! The flavor of the rice is powerful with added kick from the onion leaves. Perfect with their other fried dishes. Serving is good for 2-3 persons.✔ My favorite of all! Presenting their very crispy and very delicious Taiwan Pork/Chicken Chop. You can taste the powerful flavor of pepper but it really complimented well with the crispiness of the dish. I recommend to try these dish especially their Chicken Chop. It's simply delicious and juicy. Also, it's perfect with their different sauces: Wasabi Mayo, Garlic Sauce and Chili Sauce. All sauces are spicy and for me, my favorite is the Wasabi Mayo to pair with the meat chops.✔  I can't imagine myself tasting an exotic dish (for me). I am not a fan for eating pork intestines, blood, liver and other parts of a pork/chicken aside from the meat. But this Hot and Spicy Pork Blood and Intestine is surprisingly good. The dish is very spicy so you should have a taste first. Quite oily as it looks, but very delicious especially for those who love Dinuguan. This dish is a must-try.✔  Another one-of-a-kind dish! This Stir-fry Pork Kidney is I guess second of my favorite here at Yen Yen. Yes I'm not a fan of eating this kind of dish, but as soon as I tasted it, I really didn't regret. The pork kidney is very soft and tasty. It doesn't have an after-taste which happened if the dish is not cooked well. The flavor of the garlic gives this dish an extra kick.✔ For those who love noodle soup, this Taipei Braised Beef Noodle Soup is for you. Served hot and perfect for cold weather. They used Taiwanese noodles for this dish. Simply delicious.✔  Craving for some pancit? Taiwan Sate Chami is for you! This dish is loaded with meat chops and vegetables which makes this dish very delicious. Seving is also good for 1-2 persons.✔  Of course, your Taiwanese cuisine adventure would not be perfect if you haven't try these Boiled Dumplings! This simple and made-from-scratch boiled dumplings is made of pork meat and some vegetables. These dish is made by one of the co-owners of the restaurant. Very fresh and perfect with or without the sauce.✔ Also enjoy these Green Iced Tea. It's a must-try drink that they served at Yen Yen. It comes in regular or bottomless. The price of the dishes is also very affordable. And some of their dishes comes with regular serving (solo) or serving good for 2-3 people. Also, some celebrities are dining to this place and order some of their well-known dishes. So if you are looking for some Taiwanese dishes, Yen Yen is a must try!
