Both restaurants are humongous and have pretty modern interiors.Wafu's House Salad (130 Php) ★★☆☆☆"Onion dressing, fresh granny smith apples, salad greens, cherry tomato confit, crispy salmon skin"Plain salads are the best when you're on a diet! I liked this, but the dressing was a bit weird. ❤️Salmon Sashimi (355 Php) ★★★★★This is probably the best salmon sashimi I have ever tasted. The salmon slices were super fresh it takes you to the sea with them!Ebi Furai (355 Php)★★☆☆☆Parang lutong-bahay (similar to a homemade dish). I was ignorant of the different types of deep-fried, breaded shrimp and thought that this is the one with the soggy breading.❤️California Roll (220 Php) ★★★★★At first I was hesitant to get this because it sounded too plain. But when it was served, I was surprised at how it looked so much different than the California roll we usually have--those rolls you can buy almost anywhere (rice with mangoes, crabstick, and cucumber rolled in orange caviar thingy). Its taste was superb. A simple roll that bursts with flavor. Simplicity is indeed beauty.Tonkatsu (375 Php) ★★★★☆Meat was cooked perfectly and was tender, flavor was on point. Quite at par with YABU's tonkatsu goodness except there's no unlimited cabbage, rice, and soup.❤️Four Seasons Shake (130 Php) ★★★★★Refreshment! I love how they did not fill it with too much ice, water, and syrup. Solid flavors that weren't masked by the super sweetness of the syrup!

    Wafu has a good spacious dining area. They have some special tables in wrought iron cubicles that looks like cocoons. Seating is easy even on a Sunday evening.Food was pretty simple from teriyaki chicken, tempura, sashimi (had the uni [sea urchin] and salmon), tenderloin steak and mackerel. They have free cold tea too.I think we should try the eat-all- you-can teppanyaki which the kids as well as adults will enjoy.

    In this day and age, expensive restaurants are no longer the fad. Trending now are hip yet cheap smaller joints that offer quality meals. Thus, restaurants like Wafu felt a bit out of place, with its imposing facade and rather daunting interiors. One can easily score good quality Japanese eats at cheaper prices in most places around the metro now. Hence, Wafu has decided to offer promotions and adjusted prices to keep up with the competition.Having been among the first restaurants during Greenhills' first phase of renovation, Wafu has stamped its class despite being on the pricier side, but steadily lost ground because of that. Still, high quality food is what they offer, and they seem not to disappoint.Highs:1. Gyudon: One of the best I've ever had. The meat was superb, soft and tender, with cloying streaks of luscious fat, and hints of smokey flavor. The unique but strange part was the egg, soft-boiled and runny instead of the usual raw one. A good variation for those with aversion to raw food, and in fact had a better texture and paired well with the meat. The mirin was light yet consistent. This is perhaps the only Gyudon I've tried in which the meat outweighs the rice in terms of amount. Worth every peso you pay for, a hefty one at that though.2. Ebi Tempura: How can one amp up a so common dish? Well, serve the heads too! Deep frying the heads and making them crisp make everything edible, and in fact, a lot of the shrimps' flavor is on the head. The shrimps were average sized though, but the batter was light and crisp. Might be better and bigger in other joints, but definitely nothing's wasted here.3. Salmon sashimi: Pink, moist, and slithery good. One can tell the difference in the quality, with the marbling and moistness so obvious here.4. Gindara Teriyaki: like the freshness of the salmon, the gindara was smooth, firm, and juicy. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth, shivering-inducing, self-hugging good. The sauce was light, just enough to complement the fish' own flavor.5. Wafu Kitkat: A luscious dessert composed of a wafer base, an ice-cream like chocolate mousse, and draped in dark chocolate icing. Sinful and pleasurable, everything that will make you feel guilty. Not overwhelmingly sweet, yet has its own delectable charm.6. Japanese cheesecake: A bit expensive for such a small serving, but the taste is beyond the usual. The base is sweet and crumbly graham, while the cake itself is firm, with the cheese flavor subtle and gives way to a creamier flavor. Drizzled with mango syrup and topped with preserved mango compote, it's the perfect sweet ending.Lows:1. Pork belly yakitori: Yakitori seems to be their weakest suit, as the flavor was a bit lacking in smokiness. The meat was tender but inconsistent in some parts. Also, they don't have chicken skin on the menu! A travesty, if you ask me.2. Scallops on the shell: Pricey and not worth the size. The scallops itself are hidden underneath all the layering, lacking flavor whatsoever. Burn your bucks on something else.3. Service: For a high-end joint, service was a bit spotty. A lot of the waiters had their back against us, and it was so hard to call their attention, despite the restaurant not being fully packed. Also, the dishes arrived in random manner, with the sashimi arriving in the middle of the meal, and the rice in the latter part.If one is looking for value and quality for your hard earned money, this is the place. The seafood is pricier but higher end in terms of taste, texture, and feel. The meat is also superb, even as I've also tried their teppanyaki all-you-can promo for lunch and it was good and a steal at that price (999+). The a la carte menu is strong in most aspects, except for the yakitori part. Desserts are to die for. So if one feels like splurging and feeling rich even for just a moment, Wafu is the place.

    The restaurant was pretty nice with high ceilings and a well-decorated interior. We were given two menus -- the regular menu, and the Izakaya. The Izakaya Menu includes a selection of their sashimi/maki, tempura, yakitori, kushiage, and teppanyaki for a lesser price. We ordered gyudon, katsudon, ebi tempura and California roll. Their food was just okay! For me omakase is better! *haha* ✌🏻️ and much cheaper. Service was okay.

    Place is beautiful! Ramens are 50% off whenever it's raining. Very expensive resto 🙃 2.5k+ just for the 2 of us and we ordered mostly appetizers. Salmon sashimi was very tender and fresh 😍 rainbow roll and mifune roll with soft shell crab were very good! Hokkaido roll was good. Yakimeshi rice was normal. I don't recommend the steak with wasabi pepper sauce. It was bland, the sauce was barely there and didn't taste like wasabi at all.

    I have been here with my boyfriend's family twice already - during his mom's birthday last May 2016 and recently during his birthday celebration last January 7. Both visits were wonderful as we enjoyed watching the food cooked live in front of us.  The fire display was also amazing and the chefs/cooks were very polite and accommodating. The tempura is my personal favourite together with the 100% real good quality beef sliced in bite-sized chunks. I am not a fan of mushrooms but theirs was specially good although not to be consumed in large amounts. When ordering, it helps if you specify the amount of food to be cooked - if you're a group of five, rice good for 3 people usually is already enough for 4-5. Their tamago was okay though not on top of the good ones we've tasted but generally, the food is great and the atmosphere was enjoyable. We especially liked the lotus tables on the first floor which is good for regular orders.

    We went to Greenhills to watch John Wick Chapter 2 and plan to have dinner in one of the Japanese restaurant in the area in celebration of Valentine's season.And we're back at Wafu Japanese Restaurant which offers wide varieties of Japanese dishes from Teppanyaki, Sushi, Bowls and Steaks. Amazing and elegant interior and I amsuper WOWed again with it's beautiful, bright and spacious set-up. I am fascinated too with the majestic and classy furnitures inside the 2-storey restaurant. Upon entry we were greeted and assisted by Wafu's courteous staff until we reached the Teppanyaki area which is located at the second floor of the restaurant. The staff handed the menu for their Teppanyaki and checked the provided list what meat we will be getting. The chef pre-heated the pan and he gave us some fire as the signal that he will start to cook the first dish. He started to spread and put the rice in the big pan and break the egg to cook the fried rice. Then followed by salmon, 3 cuts of beef (tenderloin, gyuniku and hanging tender), chicken, oysters, squid, clams and lastly the sprouts. While the chef cooking in front of us, the staff served the shrimp tempura, soup, maki and the sauces for teppanyaki. The chef told us that we need to eat after he cooked each meat/vegetable for better quality... which we did. And lastly the staff served the free scoop of ice cream. I had strawberry flavor for sweet ending.     Ate here last night and I must say, it was a little disappointing. We saw 3 COCKROACHES on our table!! We ticked off some food in the list but those never arrived. Yes, the beef was really good and the interiors were undeniably beautiful and we had a chatty tepanyaki cook. But I will guve it a 1.5 because of the cockroaches and the ordered food that didn't arrive. The rest of the food tasted okay. Nothing too special about it compared to other restos we've tried.

    2017One cannot go wrong with unli teppanyaki with a chef assigned to your table and meats, vegetables,seafood are cooked accordingly to your taste preferences.weekend prices can be a little steep (1200 plus plus) and comparable to hotel buffet promo prices. Their prices started at 799 ++ just a year or two ago But to be fair, quality of food is good. However there is a two hour time frame allotted. Staff never advised us when start time is and never really told us how things worked.Go here for special occasions or weekdays when they have a 999 ++ promoTip- although it is unli teppanyaki , order pretty much everything that you can eat at the first round because the 2 hour allotment includes the chef prepping up your orders and cooking Next time i would skip the gyuniku meat,the thin strips of beef.. only because it is similar meat to the korean unli grilled beef places. Better go for the hanging tender and tenderloinUnli drinks is only unli iced tea and you get only one scoop of ice cream as it is not unli dessertFor less stressful meal.. go for the 2-4 pm slot which we did Staff service is hit or miss... mostly non existent towards the end of the mealChef at the teppan grill was accommodating and friendly
