Taza De Oro Food Garden located at Greenhills San Juan (Madison Square) was sort of a trip down to memory lane. Memories came flashing back like birthdays, weddings and other occasions spent in a typical Chinese restaurants. The place was like trapped in time portal of the 90's, round table, red table mantle and ambiance remain simple. There's also a partition for Shabu-Shabu lovers.I'm excited to try their authentic dishes cause I know there is something great at Taza De Oro.Food:*Seafood Spinach SoupNot your ordinary egg drop soup, it's a bit spicy and colored green. And I like it.*Buttered Lapu-Lapu Fish FilletGolden crispy on the outside but still soft and moist Lapu-Lapu in the inside. Comes with a 2kinds of sauces (lemon butter sauce/ sweet and sour sauce) I like sweet and sour sauce better and a mango salad/salsa sidings*Taza De Oro Fried RiceA staple dish in any Chinese cuisine :) tasty and flavorful because of the chorizo bits and scrambled egg mixed in it.*Braised PatatimServed with cuapao... I thought patatim was an ulam :P Sa Chinese pala palaman lang toh :D Super soft, melts in your mouth meat and the sauce is sweet and flavorful too. (basta pang ulam pa din sya sakin -ansarap eh) *Mixed Vegetable Fu YongVegetable omelette in a dome cake serving :) Everyone's favorite during the website meet-up. *Crispy Pancit CantonOne of my super favorite Chinese dish ever and I'm glad that I was able to taste it again. Taza De Oro's crispy pancit noodle is a bit thinner than what i was expecting. But still it's crunchy, saucy and delicious. What more can I ask for? Another serving please :P*Golden Buttered ChickenDon't EVER underestimate this dish! But actually I did. Because I thought there's nothing special in this fried chicken and I had the best fried chicken maker at home, done by my husband :D BUT there's a competitor now, loves. It's Taza De Oro's Golden Buttered Chicken!*Mixed SeaFood BrocolliWhat I like about Chinese dishes is their sauces, So flavorful and tasty. Specialy this one, lasang-lasa mo ang seafood :D and super fresh!*Crispy Halo-Halo and BuchiCrispy halo-halo is like a turon :) I was a bit sad dahil I like my saba banana ripe or over ripe :P The one I had on my crispy halo-halo is not so :( Kaya balik loob ako famous-classic Buchi :D *Mango SagoI thought that the final dish to be served was hot. Kaya the moment the Taza De Oro staff handed me my bowl of dessert nagulat ako that is cold :D akala ko mala-ginataan ito hahaha! But I So Liked it! I had 2bowls of this mango sago and for sure my kids would love it!*RootBeer FloatI love rootbeer and not every food establishment has it. Kaya after I saw my co-website rootbeer float, I ordered mine right away :) inggetera lang ang peg :POther Drinks and Desserts was good too, like the Black Gulaman, Almond Jelly etc.etc.more kwento about my Taza De Oro food trip on my blog.

Taza de Oro Food Garden is located in Greenhills, San Juan. The place reminds me of those Chinese restaurants that my family used to dine. The restaurant is a family owned business. According to Ms. Jennifer, it started its operation September of 2010. They serve classic Chinese and Singaporean dishes. The restaurant is divided into two areas: Taza de Oro proper and Tazamix which serves shabu shabu hot pot and grilled dishes. Aside from the restaurant they also sell some own made frozen delights like tocino and longganisa. These are made without using extenders and preservatives. They also do catering services good for 200-300 persons with full set-up including tables and chairs. The food was good and the serving of the dishes is good for 3-5 persons. Here are the dishes that I tried.*Seafood Spinach Soup - The soup is made from mixed diced seafood. It's tasty and perfect to sip during cold rainy days.*Mixed Cold Cuts - This dish serves as an appetizer. The meat is tasty and juicy.*Taza de Oro Fried Rice - Basic fried rice with a twist because they added Chinese sausage. Perfect to pair with the golden butter chicken.*Buttered Lapu-lapu fish fillet - I like the presentation of this dish. The fish meat is deeply fried until crispy. Served with two kinds of sauces the butter and sweet and sour sauce. For me this goes well with the butter sauce. The mango salsa serves as a taste neutralizer.*Buttered chicken - Their best seller and I must say its true! Chicken coated with flour, butter and some spices then deep fried. It is super flavourful. The meat is tender and juicy. A must try dish!*Braised Patatim with 12 pcs. Cuapao - The meat is cooked perfectly. It's soft and it taste good. The taste is quite similar to pork asado. Perfect to eat with the cuapao.*Mixed Vegetable Foo Yong - An omelette dish. It consists of vegetables, seafood and meat. This dish is packed with flavour. This is also goes well with the fried rice.*Crispy Pansit Canton - Pansit canton with a twist. This is actually served using a crispy pansit noodles. This is actually my first time to eat this kind of noodle dish. The sauce which consist of vegetables, meat and seafood goes well with the noodle. It's fun to eat because you need to slice the noodles like pizza.*Mixed Seafood Brocolli - Fresh and crispy brocolli with mixed seafood like shrimps, sea cucumber and squid. It was my first time to try sea cucumber. I actually thought that this is mushroom. It's slippery and soft to bite and a bit salty.*Buchi - One of the three desserts that I tried. Their buchi is crispy and not oily. The filling is so delicious.*Halo-Halo Turon - I find this dish unique. It has banana, ube and buko meat. I prefer buchi over this one*Mango Sago - Consist of fresh ripe mangoes, mango puree and sago. I love the sweet and tangy taste of this dessert.Visit Taza de Oro now and try their delicious dishes. They are located at Madison Square, Madison Street Corner Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan.Read more of my experience at https://dutchfairyph.wordpress.com

For Chinese and Singaporean cuisine lovers, a restaurant who served delicious dishes is a must-try place, whichever place they are located. At the heart of Greenhills, San Juan lies a Chinese restaurant which serves delicious Chinese and Singaporean cuisines perfect for the whole family. Taza de Oro Food Garden ensures that every dishes is a must-try with guarantee of freshness.**PLACE - Taza de Oro is located at Madison Square, Greenhills, San Juan City. If you are from Greenhills Shopping Center, it's just 2 streets away from the mall. Like other Chinese restaurants, Taza de Oro is surrounded with big round tables perfect for big families. With approx. more than 50 persons can accommodate inside, the place is separated into 2 sections: Tazamix which is the place where they served hot pots (shabu-shabu) and grilled dishes and Taza de Oro proper.**FOOD -  Of course it wouldn't be complete if we will not try their dishes. Here are some of the dishes available at Taza de Oro:✔ Seafood Spinach Soup - A perfect soup to start of with the dishes. Enjoy the small chunks of seafood while its still hot.✔ Mixed Cold Cuts - Appetizer? Enjoy this dish with 2 variety of meat cuts. Topped with sesame seeds with noodles at the center, enjoy this dish perfect with their sauces.✔ Buttered Lapu-Lapu Fish Fillet - With deep-fried whole Lapu-lapu fish at the center, you'll be surprise on how the presentation of this dish would be. Crispy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, enjoy this fish fillet with their 2 sauces: the butter sauce and sweet and sour sauce. For me, it is much better with the butter sauce. But I tried mixing both sauces together and I discovered it is more delicious. This dish is served with some mango salsa.✔ Braised Patatim with Cuapao - Very soft to bite Patatim meat plus the tasty sauce makes you crave for some rice. But you can enjoy this dish more if you put the meat inside the cuapao. This dish is served with 12 pcs of cuapao and a big bowl of braised patatim. Very perfect for sharing.✔ Fried Rice - With bits of sausages and omelette, this Taza de Oro Fried Rice is one of the recommended rice dish to order here. It is served in cup or in a bowl which is good for sharing.✔ Golden Butter Chicken - Taza de Oro's best selling dish. Looks ordinary? Looks can be deceiving sometimes. I thought this dish is just a plain fried chicken but after having my first bite, the powerful flavor of the butter makes this dish perfect. Crispy fried and tender meat inside, perfect to match with the fried rice.✔ Crispy Pancit Canton - This is also one of their best-selling from their noodle dishes. It is served with the crispy noodle in a big plate, and separated big bowl of mixed seafood and vegetable sauce. It is for the customer to feel free to put as much or less sauce in this dish. Another perfect for sharing dish for the whole family.✔ Mixed Seafood Broccoli - Veggie lovers might find this dish perfect for them. Enjoy the crispy broccoli with clams, shrimps and squid topped with white sauce.✔  Halo-halo Turon and Buchi - If you love desserts, of course your Taza de Oro experience wouldn't be complete without desserts. Our favorite halo-halo dessert is wrapped and deep-fried, with the combination of perfect sweetness and crispiness. The Buchi is also crispy with tasty red-bean paste inside.✔  Mango Sago - This refreshing dessert is also a must-try. The mango is a bit sour but matches well with the sweetness of the mango juice.**PRICE - Prices are very reasonable. You can adjust depending on the number of people who will eat since they have 3 types of sizes (small, medium and large) on some of their best for sharing dishes like noodles, rice and meat dishes. Aside from that, they have wide variety of dishes available.**VERDICT - Be sure to visit Taza de Oro for your Chinese cuisine fix. They also served breakfast and Singaporean dishes which you can also try. A perfect place to bring the whole family and have an enjoyable lunch or dinner with them.

We started our meal with the seafood spinach soup. Unlike other restaurants, I could really see and taste bits and pieces of squid (if I'm not mistaken) in the soup. It was served in a big bowl, and then just poured into smaller bowls by the waiter. The roasting combination (asado and lechon macau) was a winner for me. Best eaten with the sauce it was served with. I'm not one who usually orders a dish like this, but the vegetable foo young was soo good. The egg didn't overpower the taste. All vegetables blended well with the sauce. Loved this one! Another one of my favorites was the patatim. We were given  one cuapao each, wherein we have the option to put the meat in there if we wanted to. Since the waiter recommended us to, we did! It was a new experience for me. Although, I thought that the bread was overpowering the meat. The golden buttered chicken (served with kropek) is a no brainer. Everyone loved it. I think that this dish is also very kid friendly, and for dessert, who could pass on the mango sango. This is a must for me in every Chinese restaurant. I give this a 5/5. Taza De Oro also sells homemade refrigerated goods! Although, most are Filipino dishes. Taza is open for catering services, you can even hold an event there (150 capacity).
