The ramen broth looks like it came from an instant ramen broth packet - and unfortunately tastes like it as well. The black pig ramen has a bit more smokiness but nothing extraordinary. The Tonkatsu dishes were also not that good.

The soup stock is what u pay for. And the ramen and all its contents are there to have "meat" or something solid to the soup. It's rare to experience a place with quality soup stock, and i particularly like this place for it.

Hey y'all zomaters! Been roaming around Greenhills lately and I found this awesome Japanese resto at the Promenade. If your ramen-loving taste buds yearn for something oishi , then this is something I would totally brag about. Tampopo's eminence from any other Japanese cuisine is the sheer presence of the black pig. I didn't know how it tastes differently from the normal pork, until we ordered the Black Pig Shabu Ramen, and we thought that this is something special. The noodles were as tongue-smacking as the soup itself (which by the way has been prepared for two days! Imagine that.) and never to forget to feast with tonkatsu which gave us the full-blown stomach as we went home. We were not able to taste other special food on the menu but we'll definitely be coming back for more!

Their tonkatsu was not good. It was overcooked, making the meat dry and breading too crunchy. But their oyster katsu was scrumptious. It was big, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Their entanbetsu soba was just okay.Service was little slow.If I get the chance to try this restaurant again, I’ll probably order their ramen instead. I hope it’s better than their tonkatsu.

The casual and comfortable Japanese restaurant has been recognized in Singapore for its signature ramen. Tampopo takes pride not only in their ramen but also in their tonkatsu, which they call its preparation as a form of art.The Food:Both Reine and I looked forward to unlimited shredded cabbage with Japanese sesame dressing. It was something not to miss out in restaurants like Tampopo. Hakodate Original Ramen (Php 370) - Initially planned to order different types of ramen but we all ended up getting the same type of ramen. Well, 3 of us (dad, uncle and me) had Hakodate Original Ramen. Despite being pounded by my hunger at that moment, I still wanted to keep it calm and light. And that ramen I ordered did exactly how I wanted my meal. Mentaiko Layer Cutlet (Set - Php 470 / A La Carte - Php 400) - Reine was in a state of confusion and couldn't decide immediately whether she would be getting ramen, as originally planned, or give in to tonkatsu, which is one of her favorites. She found herself more inclined to tonkatsu, Mentaiko Layer Cutlet Set, when she had to choose only 1. The strongest factor I would say was its unlimited cabbage, as part of the set. We both loved the crunch of Tampopo's tonkatsu. So delicate that the taste gives pleasure while dining. With its sauce, we couldn't afford letting go of the meat with our chopsticks. Salmon Katsu - Table advertisement/promotions work! Let's put mom's case as an example. We were already in the middle of our dinner until she noticed the ad displayed on our table showing Salmon Katsu. She called the waiter and ordered her salmon. I thought it would take a long time and surprisingly, the waiter returned to our table quickly with the salmon on his hand. For more details and photos, visit my food blog! :)Pray, Eat and Love.Cheers,The Food Scout
