i suggested this restaurant to my friends because my family have been eating here since the 80’s. I was surprised when they served us steak that tastes frozen/not fresh. i was disappointed because the way i told them about this place was convincing. i felt like they gave us this kind of meat because i was with some teenagers. it is my first time to put a review in website and i’m glad to put my time and effort here.

This has been a favorite place for our family since I was a teen. Whenever we crave for steak we would definitely go here. Aside from the fact that their food is affordable, we also like their friendly service staff, most of them are already working there for decades now. The steak meat is not really that good quality but acceptable. I always order their seafood platter. Their meals all come with bread, soup, salad plus coffee or ice cream to end the meal.

First impression, the place is dark. Maybe they intend to set the mood by having dim lights, but to my preference, a little more brightness would have been better. Secondly, they expect us to eat in a cramped space as they set four chairs around a small table. Good thing the staff were very friendly and gave us another table so that we aren't cramped. The dinner rolls tasted well, adding the butter. Their cream of mushroom was a bit bland, a little more salt or pepper would have done the job. I ordered for medium rare porterhouse steak and yes I got what I wanted. It was served on a hot plate then the gravy was poured, hence the sizzle. It adds to the appeal of the food. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful especially with their tasty gravy. I also appreciate how this restaurant continues to have its employees who have been working there for decades.

This is our favorite steak house. This branch particularly has been around since I was a child. Love the classic way they serve steaks with complete package of soup bread salad and dessert. Service is also good here. Truly great steak with value for your money

Nostalgia is the best seasoning, and this adage is best exemplified through this family-style restaurant. The main clientage consists of old souls and those who sincerely don't know any better. Think about the steakhouses that you grew up with, reader (provided you were born around the Eighties), and heave a sigh - The House of Minis is, to my limited knowledge, the last of its kind. Its ambiance is reminiscent of roadhouse-style eateries, with steer horns and other Western accouterments mounted on the wall. Perhaps in a misguided attempt to remain relevant to the modern palate, the menu was diversified through the years, and we now have a steakhouse that curiously offers, among other things, items like kilawin tanigue, sizzling tahong, tempura, and bouillabaisse. Don't expect perk nor hustle from the waitstaff. By the looks of things, they've been with the restaurant since day one and have every intention of going down with this ship. The food is adequate at best. Living in the past will be a bit costly, as the price does not match the presentation and quality. The numbers on the menu will heighten your expectations, but diners' standards have elevated in the past decades, and no true gastronome craving for a slab of marbled beef would even think of gracing this place now. Their set menu - an awesome thing that more restaurants should bring back - offers salad, soup, rolls to go with your main dish of choice (New York strip in my case), and a scoop of ice cream. If nothing else, you are sure to leave with a full belly. The "prawns" of their surf and turf are minuscule and their steaks, while tasty, are dry and sinewy. It would be wiser to patronize Everything At Steak or Salt instead, but it wouldn't be the same now, would it?In the end, the best seasonings - be it nostalgia or something more tangible - cannot mask the dubious freshness of their food. It is more an anachronism now than it is a timeless classic, but understand that it's not gourmet food that you're paying for, but the experience of dining in a time capsule. It's good for a visit every few years, but nothing more.

Very few restaurants in manila that servers were not that young but they really know their job. Very quick in terms of service and food were still good. We will always come back to this restaurant.

I have been going to House of Minis since I was a kid - in their C5 branch and now here. I just love their complete meal set at an affordable price. They have bread rolls, soup, salad, the main course (which is in my case, mini Tenderloin), and ice cream or coffee. The waiters are very attentive. The place, however, could do better but I still go here 'cause of the food. I hope more branches would open.

Been eating here since we were young. Our mom and dad usually bring us here whenever there is a special occassion. Now that both of them are gone, this place is extra special to us and brings back the memories with our parents.

We've been wanting to try this resto for quite some time now. One day, we finally had the chance to dine in here, and I was honestly disappointed. The place smelled musty, and old. Ventilation is poor, it was so warm inside. We were told that they do this to keep the people from smelling like food or something like that. The staff were far from being welcoming and accommodating. Soup tasted bland, rolls were not fresh, steaks were not so tender and drowned in salty gravy. It was at least flavorful, but did not meet our expectations.Their salad is also rubbish. I did not bother to touch it. It was just shredded cabbage with a squirt of cheap thousand island dressing. They pride themselves as a steak house, but I think they lost their luster over the years. I think people only come here for the nostalgia, and nothing more.I was honestly disappointed with the place, the service, the crew, and the food.We kept on complaining but it's like nobody's listening, and nobody cares. I think the owner/manager was seated behind our table already and still did not do anything. When we were about to finish eating, that was the only time they decided to bring an electric fan in and switch it on.You are far better off spending money at Tender Bob's rather than this place.
