I've only been here a few times but it's quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat. I haven't ordered a single thing that I didn't like. Of course, I haven't tried the whole menu but so far, everything's really good.Roots Market Bistro is located in the new wing of Greenhills Promenade. It's on the ground floor below the escalators. Probably one of the reasons why I kept postponing my trip there since the restaurant does look nice and the decor is great but I think because of where it's located it looks so small or that it lacks enough room to move. It wasn't like that though. I mean yeah the tables are closer together than I'd like but there's enough breathing room and we usually go there during the weekdays so there isn't much people in Greenhills to begin with. and maybe because I'm small and I like cozy places.Keep in mind that when you order that it'd take about 15-20mins (or more) for them to prepare since they make it from scratch. But feel free to check on your order if you think they're taking an unnecessary amount of time already. What I've tried so far:Mushroom soup - you can definitely taste the freshness there. A great way to start your meal or if you just want something for your tummy, it's one to try.Grilled Chicken Sandwich - although the chicken flavor was slightly over powered by the egg salad, everything was amazing.Grilled Tuna Fillet Sandwich - same thing with the chicken sandwich. Even the fries were good too! Mashed Potato - I ordered this by mistake since I thought their sandwiches would be small. But I loved it just the same.Grilled Salmon with Tarragon Oil, Sweet Mashed Potato and Asian SauceBlack Pasta with Smoked SalmonCarbonara - the first one I ever tried there. The bacon they have on their are bits of slabs. The bacon lover in me greatly approves. And the smoked bacon flavor is very prominent. If there's one thing that I think they need to improve on is their staffing, they're understaffed in my opinion. They do check on you from time to time but it's just sometimes hard to call their attention when you need to get the cheque. Aside from that though, they have my love.I can't wait to go there again and taste their whole menu. I want to give this restaurant a proper review, with decent pictures. I haven't been camera ready lately, those pics were only taken by phone or ipad. So check back for more later!A lot of new content is available in the blog. I'm in love with their Cream of Cauliflower! The right choice of milk and herbs makes the soup one of a kind! We also had Chicken Emence, I find it bland but it's healthy so I love it as is.

ROOTS Market Bistro is an American and European restaurant that uses the freshest ingredients from the local market. It's a farm-to-table-inspired concept from Chef Chris Oronce and Bryan Tiu of Wafu fame.We celebrated Mother's Day with my parents, Rache, and the kids at Roots and here's our experience...ROOTS is located at the ground floor of the new wing of Greenhills Promenade, with a garden-and-wood-inspired ambiance. The tables under the escalator looked cozy but a bit narrow and inconvenient to get in and out of.Roots serves a well-curated menu of Modern American and European dishes.TOMATO & CORN SOUP (P230 +10% service charge). The soup of the day changes based on what ingredients are freshly available from the market. The tomato soup base was good but has a different burnt corn taste.  SALAD RIAN (P255 - Single Serving +10% service charge). Tiger Prawns, Orange Segments, Feta Cheese, Strawberries & Pine Nuts, Mesclun in Cranberry Vinaigrette. The salad is served with fresh vegetables and a sweet vinaigrette sauce. The right way to start a healthy meal.✮ SPINACH & MUSHROOM OMELETTE (P255 +10% service charge). Gruyere Cheese, House Salad, & Bread for the Day. The omelette was done well with lots of spinach, gruyere cheese, and a sweet kiwi sauce on top, served with fresh vegetables on the side. It's good to share but the boys didn't like the taste of the spinach. ✮ PASTA CHICKEN PAPRIKA (P620 +10% service charge). Sweet Bell Peppers, Bacon, Onions, Mushroom, Black Olives, Tomato Confit, & Fresh Linguine. We all loved the freshly-made linguine pasta with slices of grilled chicken on the side.GRILLED SALMON (P460 +10% service charge). Crispy Salmon Skin, Potato Confit, & Mango Cilantro Relish. The salmon was a bit dry and thinly sliced with a chicharon-like skin. The mango cilantro relish gives it a sweet and refreshing taste. It was OK.STEAK & FRIES (P970 +10% service charge). Choice of Angus Beef Tenderloin or RibEye (200g), Spinach Ragout, Sauce Option of Bearnaise, Peppercorn or Chimichurri sauces. The steak was cooked medium and was big enough to share. I thought this had good value for its serving size. It was OK.The boys loved the fries which were cooked well -- not too oily and just the right crispiness. Overall, the resto serves familiar comfort American and European food. There's nothing that really stood out from the menu. The ambiance is nice but seating is a bit constrained so make sure you reserve the booth tables with cushioned seats. We liked the Spinach & Mushroom Omelette and Pasta Chicken Paprika. Budget is about P800/head. A bit expensive considering the overall experience. You have to be patient with the service -- our soup was cold and they waited to serve all our dishes at once. I recommend waiting for a while before trying this resto as they work to stabilize the service and introduce new items in the menu.

The place was neat. Great ambience. Food was great. I would like to commend Steph Catli and Diego Imperio, both very accomodating. Will surely come back.
