We chose Hai Kang because of the great reviews we've read here in website and we were not disappointed. The moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us our reserved table and offered to refrigerate the cake we brought for my son's birthday. The manager even came to take our order personally and I must say they were very polite and attentive to our needs which made us feel we're in our own VIP room. I got nothing much to say about the place, it was decently clean and bright. To be honest, I don't think one should go there if you're looking for an Instagram worthy ambience; one should go there for the food! Food was amazing. I'm not a food connoisseur or a gourmet of some sort, however, having tried a number of Chinese restaurants with varying price ranges, this one's going to be my favorite not only because the food seemed freshly prepared, they were rich in ingredients and generous in serving size. Add to it the affordability and great customer service, the experience we had was great and we are already planning to go back. Parking could be a challenge especially when you don't have a driver but the guards will be happy to guide you where you could park your car at no cost. Better call to reserve a table before you go. So if you're planning on taking your family for an authentic yet affordable Chinese dinner, I highly recommend Hai Kang!

This restaurant located along Wilson street has been thriving on Filipino- Chinese alike because of their yummy Chinese food. Most of the time, the Chinese community who celebrates their special occassions in this restaurant because of their food offering. There is a wide array of menu items on their list from cold cuts, peking ducks, soups, fresh live seafoods and meats. To us the best seller will always be thw Prawns in Laksa sauce served with bread. Rich coconut laksa sauce on top of king prawns. Their Pata Misua is also highly recommended. Look for Renato when you visit that way he can recommend some of their house specialties not listed on the menu. But pricing can be a little expensive.

Hai Kang is one of the best traditional chinese food restaurants in the Philippines. I bring my foreign guests here almost everytime they visit us to show off the chinese cuisine and the fresh seafood here in the Philippines.Hai Kang has very consistent food. Their steamed soy lapu-lapu is flaky in texture and tastes awesome every time. The steamed garlic crab is also very good and consistent. The Laksa Sugpo and the Eel Rice are both also very good. The food Hai Kang serves is traditional chinese food at its best!

Food: +++++ (I find this place to offer very delicious Chinese dishes. Starting from their assorted Chinese cold cuts to their soups, I found myself delighted with each spoonful I take in. I super loved their main dishes specially their braised black mushroom with abalone, baked prawn with superior sauce, 3 kinds mushroom with oyster sauce and steamed live lapu-lapu with soy sauce. #happytummy.)Service: +++(Servers were attentive. There was one time when one waiter moved the plate of my colleague without excusing himself. It was kinda shocking and a bit rude.)Atmosphere: +++ (Very quiet place. Spacious.)Price: +++(I only eat here when my bosses invites us for dinner but looking at the price list, I can say prices here are a bit expensive.)

One of the best modern Chinese restaurants I've eaten in a long time. Fun fact, Hai Kang and Century Seafood are "sister" restaurants, since their owners are actually real life brothers. :)Since we have guests from Shanghai, we decided I bring them somewhere familiar yet modern. That balance is difficult to find because going to modern may alienate my parent's traditional palette. Yet going too familiar may bore our guests. They did come all the way from Shanghai where there's a lot of good food. So we settled for something that can offer both and Hai Kang didn't disappoint. We ordered set menu. For the price of 8k for 13pax, it was very worth every bite. Waiters were attentive and they even threw in a free order of cha-misua and a bowl of taro dessert for my mom. :)

Classic Chinese restaurant serves your popular and authentic Chinese dishes. We usually get the two way duck and the crab sotanghon. The duck is your classic skin on flour tortilla. Very flavorful. The crab sotanghon is moist and juicy.Lots of other menu choices. Make sure you ask for your free almond jelly or mango sago dessert!

There’s more to what I know about Hai Kang. My last visit to this famous San Juan Chinese restaurant proved there are more dishes I missed out trying. The Food:Shredded Chicken and Mango Cold CutsThe salad came in, Shredded Chicken and Mango Cold Cuts, which is a tandem of both fruity and savory, resulting into a refreshing appetizer. Kids would even give in to the crunch of crispy wontons on top while adults will enjoy the slices of century egg mixed with the salad.Seafood Pumpkin SoupI was pumped up for this soup! Seafood Pumpkin Soup, thick and rich, is that tasty soup you’d want to order first if you haven’t tried any soup from Hai Kang. Soup isn’t my first choice of dish whenever I’m in a restaurant. Though this soup changes that. I’d want this one more time!Braised Abalone with Black MushroomsThis is not your everyday dish. For serious diners in a Chinese restaurant, this Braised Abalone with Black Mushrooms is the real deal! Juicy and plump and without a doubt full of flavors. Chinese New Year dish perhaps?Sweet and Sour PorkHai Kang shouts loud for their thin and crunchy Sweet and Sour Pork. A dish for all ages, this is a sure hit to any family gathering. You can never go wrong with a plate of Sweet and Sour Pork.Laksa Prawns with Fried MantouA new discovery from the menu, Laksa Prawns with Fried Mantou. A dish that is quite strange from the traditional Chinese dishes, this captured more of my palate. It has that thick laksa sauce lavishly covering the juicy prawns. The spices linger from its smell to the roots of my tongue. I call dibs to this! The next time the wind takes me to Hai Kang, I’ll be booking for my Laksa Prawns, even without the mantou. Haha! For more details and photos, visit my food blog!

Came by for a birthday dinner and we had booked one of the side rooms. We arrived late but easily ordered drinks after we were seated. The food came out fairly fast (presumably because it was all already ordered). Food was tasty and nice. We had a selection of food including pigeon, prawns and crab. They were all tasty in their own regards.Quite a nice place for dinner.
