We went to Cafe Ysabel on an afternoon, but I can only imagine the place to be a perfect romantic date spot at night. The cafe wasn't that jam-packed, since it's kind of out-of-the-way from the Greenhills mall area. No server greeted us as we entered, but the staff was very attentive as soon as we got seated inside. Our orders:🔸Lobster crustacean bisque🔸Cream of mixed mushrooms gratin🔸Lengua sulipena🔸Seafood paellaEverything was great, but the cream of mixed mushrooms gratin in particular got my attention. It was really creamy and cheesy, just the way I like it!We will come back to this place to try out more of their dishes.

Went to the new location for the first time and it still has the charm of the old place. Had Gene's Argentine special (very flavorful and meat was tender) and callos. For dessert I went with the chocolate cake which was moist and decadent. In the era of malls and fastfood, there is something to be said about standalone restaurants such as Cafe Ysabel.

    - food: try the steaks- environment/venue: P Guevarra still had the better ambiance. Table at the middle of the entry way (where the owners and their friends would usually hang) should be moved for a more convenient walk towards the dining area. Parking is ample on weekdays- people/service: Excellent. Very professional.- price: Reasonable (except for the fried chicken)

My first time to try this resto for a get together and it was value for money. Ambience was homey and we had a reservation in one of their function rooms. Tried truffle pasta and paella. Both were legit. Limited wines though. Only a choice of red or white. Parking can also be a challenge but overall pleasant experience.

Best known for the feel and the privacy of the place than the food. Good service and plating is nice. Good food too, it's just that i don't find it special. I should have ordered their house specials and their famous pasta.

We ordered the spicy pasta, lengua and caldera. All had one thing in common. They were all served cold and tasted, to be polite, bad. Service was like we were not there. I wouldnt recommend this place to my enemies. There are better places that deserve patronage than this establishment.

Had honey glazed chicken for lunch....hmmmmm....not impressed. Food was not hot.... or even warm the way it shd be...And the thick dark glaze was just spattered throughout unevenly.... not very inviting to the eye. In the end i could not even exactly define the honey glazed chicken. Wish i ordered another item. Crepe ysabel was just a little too sweet for me.

I used to frequent their former branch in P. Guevarra, San Juan. Back then it was just a few blocks away from my home. It was my go-to stop for dessert, coffee, and other intimate gatherings. A couple of days ago, I got to visit their new location in M. Paterno. It is significantly more prominent as it also houses a more pronounced culinary school and a larger restaurant with function rooms. I am rating this 2 out of 5 because they failed considerably vis a vis my past dining experiences. From a ran down menu, unpleasant complimentary bread to questionable orders, it was a forgettable visit. If you are placing blue cheese on anything, please let your customers know. It is common knowledge that not everyone enjoys spoiled cheese. And your crust was thin but lackluster, nothing impressive. Even the desserts were uncharacteristic of Cafe Ysabel. The Mango Cake felt like low quality with its very thick buttercream. The Strawberry Shortcake was better but still can use more character like a tangier taste. Only their Suisse Burger warranted my interest. The patties were well seasoned, and it came with ample amounts of Swiss cheese. The fries, however, were given to us without salt in old, double fried form. I still love you Cafe Ysabel. I look forward to a better version of you soon.

I love coming back to Cafe Ysabel - they have spacious parking and more function rooms in their new location in M. Paterno! Their food never disappointed me. My favorite Porkterhouse is super juicy, thick and large special cut pork chop! Their classic steak ala pobre is also superb (i love the combination if crispy garlic and balsamic syrup on the side). And of course, we would not want to go home without trying their all-time favorite Capampangan ensaimada! It is so rich with real queso de bola! The staff are also accommodating. The interior is jaw-dropping too! Highly recommended! ❤️❤️
