Had our Valentine's Dinner here, and everything we ordered was just terrific! Of course, it's a bit pricey, but I've yet to see a French restaurant that is affordable (if you do, please please enlighten me). This is what we ordered: Tuna Tartare - Ordered this as an appetizer. The tuna was generous and the salad that came along with it had such bright flavors. I loved the colorful presentation, as well.Le Coq Au Vin - The server (or manager?) recommended this to me, since I wanted to try something really French. This is chicken braised in wine, with creamy pasta. True enough, I've never tasted anything like this before. It was so good, I didn't want to share this with my date hehehe (but of course, I had to 😞). The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the light pasta complimented the main dish very well.Paillard de Boeuf - Since my date preferred his steak either medium well or well done (I like mine medium rare), the server recommended for him to get this dish. The Paillard de Boef is flattened US Beef with fries and a salad. It was tender despite being well done, so I liked this too. The serving size was good enough, and the sides were good, too.L'Original Kouign Amann - we're not too fond of desserts (we can skip it to leave more room for savory dishes hehehe), but I've heard so much about Brasserie Cicou's Kouign Amann, that we just had to try it. Yes, it was good! The pastry was crunchy and warm, perfect with the salted caramel ice cream paired with it. I just wish they were more generous with the ice cream.😕The servers were friendly enough, so don't be shy if you can't pronounce the items on their menu.😉 The restaurant is beautiful, with colorful paintings on the wall. All in all, we had a great dinner at Brasserie Cicou. I just wish it was more affordable so I could eat there more often.

French cuisine is intimidating but this restaurant's homey feel makes you feel comfortable. Everyone is raving about their bread and rightly so since it is so good. The fish was also cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning for me. First time to try the kouign amann and instantly fell in love with this famous french dessert.

Very nice place. Didn't get to taste the foods because I'm just looking for a place for my 18th birthday. My concern is that the place is too small...

I love the tapas of Cicou more than their main courses, but their mains were just as nice as the appetizers they serve. We also had the oyster shooters and we loved the experience. Price was worth the taste!

The ambiance is great, I loved the whole rustic theme going on. Everything was just warm and welcoming. Service is also superb, I liked how all the waiters and waitresses were very attentive and helpful when ordering. The manager was also great in engaging us and asking us about our experience. We ordered the recommended dishes: Les Escargots a la Francaise (snails), Le Boeuf Bourguignon (braised beef), Cheese Ravioli, and the mu8ch celebrated L'Original Kouign Amann de Cicou. The escargot was a very good starter, the perfect mix of herbs, and buttery goodness, the tiny little snail just swims in all that sauce. I've never tried snail cooked this way, so I was really happy. The braised beef was also good, tender and juicy, the meat just falls off and goes well with the pasta. The ravioli disappointed me the most, for the price, I was expecting something more than the usual. As for the dessert, it was the bomb. I was sent to salted caramel heaven!!! I love love love pastries, especially those done with puff pastry. This was just made me really happy after.I would definitely come back and try their other dishes, although it isn't really as affordable as the usual casual dining fare. The overall experience is already worth a second visit.

Who ever said French cuisine had to come with the stuffy atmosphere and hoity-toity mannerisms? Brasserie Cicou is surprisingly warm, welcoming, and possessive of a home-y atmosphere that makes it a wonderful place to take your family, and even large parties. The service is very good, with friendly waiters and waitresses who are very helpful. The manager and owner often asked us how we found the food and service. The interior of the restaurant is very warm, casual and relaxed rather than the haughty atmosphere one would expect in fine-dining restaurants. The food is very delicious, and the food selection is diverse. The waiters and waitresses were very helpful when they suggested appetizers, and the different sausage platters they suggested were light and made us want more. Our party numbered a dozen, so we ordered three large main courses for sharing, two large salads, some soup, wine, and three different desserts. Each dish was plated beautifully, and the servings were very generous – we even had leftovers! The braised Australian lamb shoulder Tajine-style served with couscous was the star of the night; the other dishes we ordered were the roasted pork belly and Moules Mariniere, which also tasted great. For dessert, we ordered their original Kouign Amman, a banana soufflé, and the La Grand Assiette which is an assortment of different desserts. I was almost so full that I didn’t taste all of them, but suffice it to say that there was nothing left of the desserts afterwards.I would love to go back to Brasserie Cicou, not only because of the food, but also the amazing service and warm atmosphere that lets you just enjoy the food an company without the stuffy atmosphere that you’d normally expect from French restaurants.

I love almost all of what we ordered. The escargo is super good along with the white bread. The flat iron steak that i had is also good and my partner's hanging beef. The cesar salad is great as well. The banana soufflé though is way too sweet for me. After a few scoops of my teaspoon it felt like in eating sugar. But overall experience is nice. Ambience is not as intimidating as i expected it but that's great. Service is nice too. I love the idea of the secret envelop where you can just open the next time you visit.

I recently had my birthday dinner here with my family. Chose this place due to a good amount of great reviews, and boy, was I satisfied! The food, ambience, service were all great! Unlike other French cuisine restaurants, they provide a homey, relaxing place but with a competitively great service and food. :) the food served are both satisfying to the eyes and stomach. Pretty in presentation and taste! It's worth every penny. I can't wait to go back!

I didn’t have to go far to get a taste of France. It took just two rides to get to Greenhills to discover the spirit of a hearty French meal in Brasserie CiCou Restaurant. Situated in the bustling commercial center of San Juan, Brasserie CiCou is what it markets itself to be—a perfect place for gatherings French (or you could say, Filipino foodies who crave for the exquisite French cuisine). In fact, the place can also be reserved for parties, business meetings or company functions even catering. One thing about Brasserie CiCou, you’ll love the fact that French food did not received a tweak to suit the Filipino palate. I have some friends who have traveled to France and have eaten in the best restaurants there, they know what the original taste is supposed to be like and that is what they offer here at Brasserie CiCou. Too often, my friends would get disappointed once they know that a certain dish had been ‘modified’ while the restaurant continues their claim to be ‘authentic’. Fortunately, here at Brasserie CiCou, the menu captures the essence of an authentic French meal—helpings of delicious, no nonsense French food.Brasserie CiCou’s ambiance may seem a bit formal just as it is in any typical French restaurants, but it has a homey and more comfortable dining set-up. Moms in particular would be happy to know that the restaurant created a corner meant for customers with kids to enjoy—colorful throw pillows, a huge giraffe and graffiti on the walls along with a stack of Lego bricks they can play with while waiting for their meals. They even have an open/transparent kitchen so people could see everything what’s going on and how the food’s being prepared. Every element in the restaurant reflects France. It had created a French country look and feel. You can try French provincial food such as full flavored soups, stews, casseroles and roast in ample portions, served with hearty fruit and cheese salad (watermelon, avocado, melon, local goat cheese, arugula and herbed vinaigrette) salads and good table wine. If you’re in for something flavorful, try the kadaiff cones, prawns in lime and coriander, cucumber and yoghurt salad and orange foam or you might want some baked red mullet wrapped in herbs and filo pastry, broccoli-cheese soufflé and potato boulangere. And for the more adventurous, there’s braised rabbit in cider served with sweet potato homemade fries. With these kinds of foods, it is perfectly acceptable for diners to mop up their sauces or spread start their meals via spreading their choice of pate on their slices of baguette—just like the French do.For starters, we were served with assorted Pamora Pates such as chicken liver pate, chicken breast and liver pate, chicken gizzard pate, chicken liver and gizzard pate, chicken breast pate, chicken breast and gizzard pate with some breads, along with a hefty of green salads, pickles and mustard and washed them down with white wine. The simple green salad makes a delectable light appetizer or entrée. Pate is a rich savory paste made from finely minced or mashed ingredients typically seasoned meat or fish. It is from French origin and is a staple in French cuisine. It was followed by our main meal, a roasted coquelet rubbed in rosemary and garlic on a bed of mashed potato. It’s made with free range and high quality chicken from Abra’s Pamora Farm. Roasted Coquelet is served warm with the savory of the gravy playing against the rosemary herb and the soft buttery taste of the mashed potato. The chicken was moist and juicy, not to mention really tasty and filling. The dessert is quite impressive with the Trio of Crème Brulee: Vanilla, Chocolate and Green Tea. They have just the right amount of sweetness and have textures that are quite lovely. The green tea crème brulee is such a revelation while the chocolate’s made from rich dark chocolate. There are still a lot of dishes to sample on Brasserie CiCou. But I reckon you’d better want to check it out yourselves. Come and visit the restaurant yourself for more tasty surprises. The service at Brasserie CiCou’s friendly and cordial and the food, tres tres bon.Indeed, Brasserie CiCou succeeds in bringing out the best flavors in their dishes, allowing each ingredient to shine through. A French food writer once said: “La cuisine, c’ est quand les choses ont le gout de ce qu ‘elles sont.” Good cooking is when things taste of what they are. So if you’re looking and craving for authentic French cuisine, Brasserie CiCou’s the place to be. It’s where you can enjoy simple, hearty French food without having to travel to France. As they claim, “Be in France for the price of a meal.”Brasserie CiCou Restaurant is located at 57 Annapolis Street, Greenhills, San Juan (just beside OB Montessori and Instituto Culinario, across Promenade)+ 632 661-9200+632 917.885-8841
