Having tried weekend breakfast at a # of places in makati, BGC and Ortigas (memorable ones are 1771, Papa Diddy's, Dean & DeLuca, Refinery, Early Breakfast Club) we decided to scout such places in Greenhills. Almost the first resto that came up was Angel's Kitchen, and the place was packed by 7.30am. Luckily we arrived a little earlier and got a table. We had Wagyu Beef Tapa and Baked Bangus Tinapa. Both came with rice, sunny-side-up egg and atchara. And we had a choice of coffee or orange juice. Beef Tapa was excellent, tender and very well marinated. Bangus Tinapa was very good too.So make a beeline here on Sunday and reserve your table ahead of time!

This restaurant in Greenhills was very nice, clean and with server's that serve with smiling faces. We absolutely loved the food as most of their dishes as they served every dish with a twist. We particularly loved their Pinakbet rice and a pasta served with pork and mango bits! Yes, the pasta had mango bits and its not just any mango... It's GREEN MANGO and it's really good!Read the rest of our review in our blog!

We waited an hour and a half. Only half of our orders arrived. When we followed up the waiters they had no idea and didn't bother to answer us until we called their attention again. But still no food. We cancelled our remaining orders and paid but the cashier just shoved the change on our table. Barely any apologies. Used to like this place and recommend to friends but now i am very disappointed.

Breakfast with friends and decided to try the Bangus and Sardines in Olive Oil. The fish was fresh and flavorful! No fishy taste at all. It’s an excellent meal especially if you’re not planning to have an early lunch because it’s filling. The service and ambiance here is good. Nothing much to complain about.

While their menu looks very impressive, sadly the outcome was far from the expectation. The squash soup tasted burnt. The seafood chowder was really good. The ostrich salpicao was literally just okay. It was just like any other normal salicao. Nothing specialzThe crab fat pasta was regrettable. Pasta is bland, the softshell crab was sooooo ordinary. They might be just okay but it did not serve justice to the price, which is really over.

A family favorite. My orders in every visit always revolve around their Tuscan Tomato soup or Seafood Chowder, their Baked Salmon with Wasabi sauce, or their Lamb (THE BEST.)The ambiance is really homey, and their service is great. A place for your first date? Definitely.

I've always been fascinated by the use of longaniza as sauce base for pasta. I think it's an ingenious way of enjoying a truly filipino delicacy in a somewhat cosmopolitan way. Among the versions of which I like most is Angel's Kitchen's Longaniza Bolognese. It's comprised of al dente spaghetti noodles topped with tomato based sauce with a generous heap of ground skinless langoniza meat. It's a bit on the salty side which can really make your appetite run in full gear. Quite tasty and it pairs off really well with Ak Special Blend Iced Tea. A sure bet equation of a real happy meal.

A great find at Greenhills area. Thenplace is very homey and cute. It has this clean home vibe. Love the sofas and the lamps. The food was absolutely divine. We had the waldorf salad to start with the complimentary bread and pate (tuna i think). My dad had the tinapa pasta... forgot the name. I had the pinakbet rice... and wow the rice was to share up to 3 pax. My bro had the pochero. The lechon kawali was super crunchy... pochero was very tender... pasta was very unique. It was a wednesday and good thing there were only a few people coz i read somewhere that it's ideal to have reservations. Hope we could brave the traffic again so we can try other items in the menu.

Another gem in Northeast Greenhills! I was invited for a food tasting dinner called "A Heavenly Delight Bloggers' Night". Finally got to try AK after a very loooong time! This is my sister's favorite restaurant in GH.I had Melba toast with liver paté and tuna with olives while waiting for the others.. For the appetizers we had the Beef Taquitos with Crispy Wanton, Soft Shell Crab with Mango Dressing Salad, Keilbasa Sausage with Onions. For the mains: Lamb Curry, Lengua con Olivada, Pinakbet Paella, Parmesan and Caesar Glaze Dory, Crispy Boneless Bangus Fritters in Sambal Oelek. My favorite part! DESSERTS!!! :) Chocolate Lava Cake, Cassava con Mantecado, Mango Cream Pie, Rustic Apple Pie, Sunburst Lemon Cake. Everything was good! Delightful and filling. Definitely coming back to try everything on their menu. My personal favorties are the Soft Shell Crab with Mango Dressing Salad, Lengua, Pinakbet Paella, Chocolate Lava Cake and Rustic Apple Pie to name a few.No wonder AK's Apple Pie was on Spot.ph's "Top 10 Best Apple Pie" Rank no. 2! This is definitely a must-try! I really really want to try their Ostrich Salpicao! :p~Nice ambiance, not very home-y but it's cozy though.. The toilet room is so cute! Rustic. By the way, Mi Casa is also selling their yummy paté's and other stuff. 75% of their products are made at AK's kitchen. They offer breakfast too starting 7am and closes at 10pm. Double Thumbs up for the food! :) Check out their Christmas gift list for your loved ones!Follow @CHEFFYMITCHYU on Instagram for more food/drink photos and to discover new restaurants in the metro.

Complimentary starters: Melba Toast with Chicken Liver and Pistachio / Tuna Olives Pâté - You haven't even ordered yet, and you're already full! The tuna olives pâté has the strong flavor of olives, while the chicken liver pâté is more subtle. It didn't taste as liver-y as I expected, so it's still worth trying for those non-liver lovers. ;)Soft Shell Crab with Mango Dressing (P388) - Oh my gosh, the soft shell crab was so good! The entire thing is edible, so there's no need to crack the shell to get to the meat! It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and goes so well with the mango dressing they paired it with. I just wish they had bigger servings of this because I was left wanting more!Beef Taquitos with Crispy Wanton (P298) - It's a make-your-own taquitos platter! This is one starter that I bet even kids will enjoy. Diners can choose to top their crispy wantons with just their favorite ingredients (I know some people don't like tomatoes), but I still suggest putting them all! Angels' Kitchen gives us generous servings of ground meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes with every order. The crispy wanton remained crunchy the entire meal, so that's a plus as well!Kielbasa Sausage with Onions (P318) - Sausages never looked so good! The Angels took something simple and turned it into an appetizing treat! The sausages were delicious, and more flavorful than I expected. It's one of those dishes that's perfect for when you need a little comforting. Have some beer too while you're at it, yeah?;) I'm definitely getting this again next time!Crispy Boneless Bangus Fritters in Sambal Oelek (P438) - I'm not a huge fan of fish, but I really liked the way this was cooked. I'm glad it wasn't oily or malansa after frying, and that they served it with a different sauce, the sambal oelek, which is a sauce made from chili peppers. I usually encounter fish dishes with some kind of creamy mayo sauce, so this was a welcome change. It's a lighter, albeit spicier, alternative, but that's what I like about it.Beef Salpicao (P398) - Another great comfort food. I don't think I've ever met a plate of beef salpicao I didn't like - so if you're looking to order something that's a sure win, get this. Things to remember: meat has to be tender and flavorful, and should be accompanied by lots of mushrooms and garlic - and guess what, Angels' Kitchen got all of that right. Personally, I think that a restaurant that fails to cook this, fails in general. It's often considered as an appetizer, but I totally recommend eating beef salpicao with rice.Parmesan and Caesar Glaze Dory (P428) - The moment they placed this on the table, I knew I was going to like it. Gaah, it was heaven! For the longest time, baked dory with cheesy pesto has been my favorite way to eat dory, but now, I think it's this one. More than the parmesan cheese (if you've read my other posts, you'll know how much I enjoy anything with cheese in it), I loved how they added lemon to it - and not just to lessen the lansa, but to actually enhance the flavor. The creamy, lemon-y, and cheesy dory with crisp lettuce leaves, and bacon bits was a great combination overall.Lamb Curry with Apple Raisin Chutney (P488) - I love curry, but not so much lamb, so to be honest, I had some apprehensions about this dish. There's just something about its flavor that I don't like. But this wasn't so bad. In fact, it wasn't bad at all. The meat was soft and sweet, and went well with the curry, though I would have liked the curry sauce with a thicker consistency. It was also milder than most I've tried before, but then again, I guess the sauce had to be mild since the lamb already had a strong flavor to it. The dish came with some apple chutney on the side, which I thought went great with the lamb as well.Pinakbet Rice with Lechon Kawali and Chocolate Bagoong (P478) - Their award-winning signature dish! How often can you say you've eaten pinakbet rice? This dish is very Filipino, but in a way it's not, because Angels' Kitchen veered away from the usual way of serving it. Instead of laying it out with plain white rice, they've combined the two elements together to make an amazingly flavorful plate of pinakbet rice! The viand here is no longer the vegetables but the three huge chunks of fried lechon kawali you see above. Let's not forget the chocolate bagoong it came with. Yum!Lengua Con Olivada (P528) - You know how when you were a kid, you used to eat everything, but now, not anymore? Well, ever since I found out what lengua was, I stopped eating it. For those who don't know, it's actually ox tongue. It's a really yummy dish, often served with mushroom cream sauce. It's been years since I had last eaten lengua, but I tried it again that night at Angels' Kitchen, and I'm back to loving it. I totally understand how ox tongue can turn someone off, but you know what, it's worth trying. Try a small bite. If you don't like it, then fine, don't eat any more. But if you find out that it's actually good, then at least you have a new dish to come back for (and you don't spend the rest of your life avoiding a dish you would've loved haha). Plus, it's hard to resist a dish that smells and looks this good. Now, onto dessert! To be honest, I found it difficult to choose a favorite because they were all so wonderfully and deliciously made. Instead of picking just one favorite, here's my top three: the Cassava Con Mantecado, the Sunburst Lemon Cake, and the Chocolate Lava Cake. * Note: I was invited to write about this restaurant :)
