My go to Japanese comfort food restaurant on this side of Quezon City. The place is clean, nice and quiet, the food is freshly prepared by a Japanese Chef/Owner. For frequent customers, you will get to try the Chef’s new side dishes once in a while.

Zipang is certainly a good Japanese restaurant, and one of the lesser known but definitely better Japanese restaurants in Quezon City. The food is great and affordable, and the serving sizes are generous. I particularly love and never fail to order their chicken karage set meal, and the mixed sashimi set, which at its price, will be one of the most affordable sahsimi set you will find. And yes, the sashimi tastes good, while admittedly not at peak freshness. Also, go for the grilled mackerel. The place itself is small, which I like so there aren't a lot of customers inside and its isn't rowdy. I like how the Japanese chef is straightforward and prompt in preparing the dishes, and also polite in interacting with customers. The rest of the staff, I think, have no choice as well but to be always prompt and move fast, which I like (service is way better than in other Japanese restaurants, i.e. Izakaya Kikufuji). Overall a good restaurant that never fails to satisfy cravings for Japanese dishes.

A three-storey place that has different function rooms and could probably house around 20 people at the same time (ground floor). Price is reasonable. My favorite would probably be the tamago. It’s so soft, well cooked and sweet, just the way I like it. Call it overreacting but it changed my mood to a better one when I had a taste of the eggs! It’s located near our office (beside Sct. Fuentebella and corner of Jamboree) so this could be one of my go-to places for legit Japanese cuisine. Ordered the Chicken Karaage Bento and also Salmon Furai Bento. Salmon skin tastes great. Service is also good. ☺️Ladies who served our food named Tonette and Maricel were attentive. Note: Zipang has service charge, could accommodate two to three cars parked in front of their restaurant.

We had their salmon cheese maki, chirashi bowl, and their sanzokuyaki set meal. The salmon cheese maki is a lot bigger than you'd expect, it's one of those supersized maki rolls. Didn't really love it, don't really get the lettuce in it, but you do appreciate the amount of cheese they put in it. The chirashi bowl might be one of their more famous things here, and it's okay, you definitely get a lot, it's a bit pricey but for what you get it is ultimately fair. The sanzokuyaki is like a chicken karaage type thing, basically a fried chicken cutlet as well, very nice and moist, and it's a lot, it's definitely the best value of all since it's big enough to feed two.All in all, this won't blow you away, but it's a perfectly fine Japanese place in Tomas morato.

What you can expect from a Japanese owned place? Only superb food and clean surroundings! I totally love their chicken katsu curry! Their tamago is also the best. I want to come back to this place soon.

Everything we ordered (sashimi boat, uni sashimi, ebi tempura, Zipang salad, chicken kariage (?), pork belly, etc) were good, although a little small on the serving size. All the waitresses were very polite and attentive, with our house tea and water being refilled continually. Since we had the small function room to ourselves, the ambience was good.

Their Chirashi bowl is to die for. Will definitely come back if only for that. Also had umeshu which reminded me of one of my dinners in Tokyo. Not to sweet and alcohol-y unlike the one in Katsu Sora. The quest for umeshu continues! Kampaiiii

The food & service was excellent. The staff was very polite and attentive. I'd recommend the seafood hotpot and the deep-fried salmon. Definitely a must-try restaurant if you're into Japanese food.

So far the best japanese resto in the area(way bettern than nihon bashitei) Sashimi are always fresh but not much choices in the menu though, the chirashi taste better than toki(i still love toki's chirashi). The japanese owner greets us warmly upon entering and prepares the orders himself. We never fail to visit at least once a week 😆

Zipang is a small, hidden Japanese restaurant somewhere in 11th Jamboree, Kamuning. I've been here a couple of times and always see the Japanese chef/owner of this restaurant preparing our meal. It's a small restaurant that specializes Nagano cuisine, where the chef is from.We ordered Agedashi Tofu, Mix Furai Teishoku, and Sanzokuyaki Teishoku. The agedashi tofu was thinly battered and fried to crisp, served with a light soy sauce blend. I like how they do they agedashi with a thin skin of crust thats crispy, combined with the silky, smooth, soft tofu that is perfectly flavored with the sauce and katsuboshi. It was just melting and plating flavors in your tongue.Sanzokuyaki teishoku was served with miso soup, a vegetable side dish, tuna skin pickle, rice, and the meat. The meat serving was good for 2-3 pax. It's basically marinated fried chicken. The chicken thigh fillets was moist and flavorful. The crispy crust was the bomb. It did remind me of Taiwanese fried chicken fillet, but crispier and tastier. It doesn't have a sauce to accompany it, but its already flavorful by itself.Zipang means Japan. It'll bring you to how restaurants in Japan are, small, simple, and personalized by the chef. If the chefs out, it's closed. I have been visiting here for quite sometime and Masashi-san always greet us with a smile and shows the Japanese hospitality.#TheFoodCrawlers #OngsFoodprints #TheLostDiego
