My go to Japanese comfort food restaurant on this side of Quezon City. The place is clean, nice and quiet, the food is freshly prepared by a Japanese Chef/Owner. For frequent customers, you will get to try the Chef’s new side dishes once in a while.

Zipang is certainly a good Japanese restaurant, and one of the lesser known but definitely better Japanese restaurants in Quezon City. The food is great and affordable, and the serving sizes are generous. I particularly love and never fail to order their chicken karage set meal, and the mixed sashimi set, which at its price, will be one of the most affordable sahsimi set you will find. And yes, the sashimi tastes good, while admittedly not at peak freshness. Also, go for the grilled mackerel. The place itself is small, which I like so there aren't a lot of customers inside and its isn't rowdy. I like how the Japanese chef is straightforward and prompt in preparing the dishes, and also polite in interacting with customers. The rest of the staff, I think, have no choice as well but to be always prompt and move fast, which I like (service is way better than in other Japanese restaurants, i.e. Izakaya Kikufuji). Overall a good restaurant that never fails to satisfy cravings for Japanese dishes.

A three-storey place that has different function rooms and could probably house around 20 people at the same time (ground floor). Price is reasonable. My favorite would probably be the tamago. It’s so soft, well cooked and sweet, just the way I like it. Call it overreacting but it changed my mood to a better one when I had a taste of the eggs! It’s located near our office (beside Sct. Fuentebella and corner of Jamboree) so this could be one of my go-to places for legit Japanese cuisine. Ordered the Chicken Karaage Bento and also Salmon Furai Bento. Salmon skin tastes great. Service is also good. ☺️Ladies who served our food named Tonette and Maricel were attentive. Note: Zipang has service charge, could accommodate two to three cars parked in front of their restaurant.

We had their salmon cheese maki, chirashi bowl, and their sanzokuyaki set meal. The salmon cheese maki is a lot bigger than you'd expect, it's one of those supersized maki rolls. Didn't really love it, don't really get the lettuce in it, but you do appreciate the amount of cheese they put in it. The chirashi bowl might be one of their more famous things here, and it's okay, you definitely get a lot, it's a bit pricey but for what you get it is ultimately fair. The sanzokuyaki is like a chicken karaage type thing, basically a fried chicken cutlet as well, very nice and moist, and it's a lot, it's definitely the best value of all since it's big enough to feed two.All in all, this won't blow you away, but it's a perfectly fine Japanese place in Tomas morato.

What you can expect from a Japanese owned place? Only superb food and clean surroundings! I totally love their chicken katsu curry! Their tamago is also the best. I want to come back to this place soon.
