This is my 2nd time to dine at Wooden Spoon. I wasn't disappointed with the dishes served at this restaurant. I believe this is one of the good restaurants you can find along Katipunan which serves good Filipino dishes at reasonable prices. I ordered their Bicol Express as it was being raved about at website. Although I don't eat much of Bicol Express (since none of us are from Bicol) this made me crave for more. I wanted to take home some but there was none left after our meal. My mom ordered the Salmon Sinigang where as it surprised me with how good Salmon and the Sinigang combined is. Didn't get to order the Adobo flakes since we had that the first time we dined here. Service was really good and they were attentive to our needs. Water is being refilled without asking for one (which to me personally is good service) I would dine here again. I do hope their service won't change.

Wooden Spoon has been creating a buzz since the time it opened a few years ago. With so much to try in their menu, and the fact that its owned by Chef Sandy Daza (son of the famous Nora Daza), plus VERY affordable and delicious Filipino dishes, this place has obviously thrived well in the website industry. After a thousand failed attempts to dine here (Seriously! This place is ALWAYS full specially around dinner), Im happy that I finally got to try it recently. We had their Crab Pancit, Tostadong Adobo, Kare Kare, Stuffed Pechay, Pan Grilled Tuna Belly and Sinigang Lamandagat. The Kare Kare tastes great, as well as the stuffed pechay and crab pancit. After eating, we wanted to finish with something sweet but the pandan crepe which I personally wanted to try wasnt available so we opted to just have desserts somewhere else. While the food were satisfying, service was so-so (maybe because of the volume of people present that time).I hope to try Wooden Spoon again. I too wish that they'd provide bigger and better parking -- (limited, we always end up dining somewhere else because of this)..#zomatoph

I do not recommend their desserts esp. the crepe. If wax tasted like anything, this would probably be it. But food here in general is good. I love the kare kare.

Our go to place for affordable, delicious food with a twist by none other than the Sandy Daza!Old time faves- crab pancit, unique noodle dish w/ lots of eggs- tinapa fried rice, just the right combo and seasoning- stuffed pechay, spicy tinapa and meat stuffed pechay, pure GENIUS!!!First time to try the ff- adobo flakes, very thin crisp pieces. The garlic mayo dip grows on you.- shrimp pampango, very crispy w/ very creamy taba ng talangka dip! If you like nilasing na hipon, you will enjoy this too.- tortang talong, simply good. That sweet chili sauce as a proxy for catsup ain't so bad.- reyna blanca, they loved it- sago cake, interesting, loved the sweet sauce and pinipig- iced tea, good and doesn't taste like tea leaves/teabagsTried the squid and chili w/ mushrooms on a previous visit and liked that tooService was very good that dayLimited parking slotsOnly a few tables on the first floor. There is a steep spiral staircase leading to a much bigger dining area.Cash basis only

The Kawali is meh. The baked chicken, I don't understand why it's cheesy. The sigarilyas at daing is okay.I still don't get what people like in this place, whatever it is I have yet to discover.

BEST Filipino food in the Katipunan area, albeit a bit pricey for those on a student budget (around P250-300 per dish).. This is not your typical native Pinoy food, as chef Sandy Daza has "fusioned" his Filipino food. You'll need to try their Lechon Kawale! Their shrimp dishes and dinakdakan are excellent.. Not as packed as it used to be when they first opened a few years ago, so it's a good time to visit.. Ambience is decent, beer and wine served!

I super love their Laksa na Puso ng Saging! It's something I never tried before. 😁😭 My sister and I also ordered Century & Salted Egg Salad and Adobong Kangkong with Lechon Kawali Bits (more like chunks than bits, actually). Both were good too but a bit more salty.

It's already my second time eating at this place. They easily get jammed up since they have great food. Servers are friendly as well. I just wish they have more parking slot as only 3 cars can park in front of their restaurant. Will keep coming back for more. And it will also be good if they accept reservations as tables and chairs are easily filled up on the ground floor.. there are more chairs on their 2nd and 3rd floor but stairs are not feasible if you're with someone who has a disability.

JJ and I had been planning to go have dinner at Wooden Spoon since last week. However, due to some unforeseen events (her lovelife got resurrected and then I had to meet a friend,) it didn't push through until earlier tonight. Even with the possible rain, I decided that we should just go ahead and do it since it might not push through anymore if we kept delaying it.Thankfully, my decision proved to be right. Wooden Spoon is hole in the wall resto owned by Chef Sandy Daza. It's located across Miriam College in Katipunan. The interiors were quite simple but had a homey feel to it.JJ and I ordered the Fiesta Rice Php155 which was good for 2-3 persons, the Adobo Flakes Php195, and the Wooden Spoon Crispy Chicken Php195.The Fiesta Rice was a bit salty but not too salty. For someone who is not a fan of salty things, I actually liked their Fiesta Rice and how the tomato, salted egg, smoked fish, and Chinese chorizo all blended. It was definitely something worth trying. The Adobo Flakes were pretty good as well. I've actually learned to not like this as it has always been disappointing but thankfully, this time I was wrong. It was crispy and flakey. It had taste even in the smallest strips. The Wooden Spoon Crispy Chicken was another revelation. It was crispy on the outside but definitely soft on the inside. We actually finished the entire plate. It was cooked the Korean Way and can definitely give Smopers or even Bon Chon a run for their money. The pandan crepe is hands down the winner of the night. Its a pandan crepe filled with local ice cream sprinkled with chocolate syrup and topped with pinipig plus spicy peanuts. Yes, you read that right. SPICY peanuts. The blend of the sweetness and creaminess of the ice cream plus the chocolate drizzle and pinipig along with hints of spice was just AWESOME! It was definitely something different but in a really good way.I LOVED IT!
