It was on a bright and sunny holiday when I was able to gather seven of my friends to join me in one of my food crawls in Maginhawa in Quezon City. This was actually my first successful attempt in bringing in my website friends together for a food trip. So off we went to four restaurants, and on our third stop, we got to Westwood in Teacher's Village.Westwood is one of the newest food places in Maginhawa St. where more and more restaurants are being put up and opened to the dining public. The place gives off an L.A. vibe, given their very hip aesthetics. It surely is one good place to go to for a new and exciting food adventure. One of their main offerings here in Westwood is their Sushirrito, which is basically a sushi that's rolled into a burrito. This is definitely a cool idea, given that there's rice in both the burrito and the sushi. We had three different kinds of their sushiritto, namely the Seoul beef bulgogi, the 3's king Korean bacon, and the salmon variety. What I enjoyed the most from the three is their Seoul beef bulgogi, as the sweetness of the meat was complemented with the rice and the veggies. This is actually very filling and good to go for lunch.Another item in their menu that's worth trying out are their chicken poppers. Although they are quite a common item in restaurant menus and they are easy to prepare at home, Westwood's chicken poppers are the real deal. For only Php349, you get to try out a mouthful of these delicious chicken poppers. They are so good and flavorful that they can be eaten on their own, but you can also dip these into a variety of dips such as onion, barbecue, and sour cream. You may also come here to check out their desserts, particularly their ice cream. They mix cereals here in your homemade ice cream or they turn them into an ice cream sandwich, which happens to be available in six flavors. You can have your ice cream customized to your liking. We had chocolate mint and mud pie, mixed with Milo cereals, as well as their strawberry and pistachio ice cream in rice crispies. Both of them are so good that they definitely made this whole dining experience a memorable one.

What's not to love with WestWood? Nothing! From the yummy food, the big servings, affordable prices, friendly service and the ambiance, WestWood offers one of the best over-all resto experience in Maginhawa Street. Must try here is their sushirittos! We will definitely be back here!

What we tried:Sumo Shake Salmon (P249)fresh or deep fried salmon with cheese, cucumber, napa cabbage, carrots, chilis, wasabi mayoWestwood Garden Salad (P269)tender chicken thighs, garden of lollo rossa, ice berg lettuce, cucumber, carrots, juicy cherry tomatoes, caramelized red bell pepper, buttered croutons, balsamic vinaigrette, candied walnutsSnowy Chicken in Onion (P149)Snowy Chicken in Cheese (P149)Seoul Beef Bulgogi (P249)tender sirloin, bulgogi sauce, tangy kimchi, crunchy romaine lettuce, carrots, napa cabbage, Japanese riceKorean Bacon (P169)mixed with Korean sauce and rice on the sideButtered Porkchop (P165)tender porkchop lightly seared on butter with red bell pepper and caramelized onion with rice on the sideChicken Poppers (P99 / P188 / P369)chicken thighs, breaded and deep fried to get that crunchy on the outside, juicy and tender on the insideI'm going to make this short and quick. They have amazing interiors - the high ceiling, the mural, and that green wall, they're all beautiful. But the food is just alright. I appreciate that they tried to innovate (chicken poppers with flavorings, sushi burrito, chocolate dipped cones with sprinkles, etc), but I honestly thought that the food served wasn't worth the price. I don't know, am I getting too old for hip things like these? We also noticed that the staff gave other tables sauces for their burritos, while we didn't get any. Whyyyy. We might have liked the burritos more if we were given extra sauce. Also, note that prices of the food is around P200-P250. Kind of pricey for burritos with mostly rice. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

The food is quite good despite the price. The servers aren't much attentive as we ordered the meal. We got an incomplete meal. We had to call them for their lapses. They only served 1 extra rice and 1 glass of water. Take note we were a couple. I'd expect them that they will serve us two but no. There is no available tap water so we uneededly bought a bottled water. I really hate it when it comes to poor service. But despite all bad service, the ambience is quite nice.

Our first time to visit Maginhawa in QC. This place caught our attention because of the interior; it was cool. Steak taste great and i like most of their salad. The crew was friendly and accommodating.
