Walrus is still the best place to drink in Katipunan. Food is cheap, drinks are cheap, and quality wise - it's definitely worth more! Would highly recommend the: Lime Chicken Taco and the Taco Spring Rolls (and I don't normally like tacos). For drinks, I would recommend trying the Sun of A Beach. Most people I know say that you can't go wrong with that drink when you're not sure what you want to drink for the night.Students love to hang out in Walrus. The size and layout's also perfect for socializing. So for all those looking to meet new people, best to check out Walrus. In fact, it should be your first stop when you find yourself in Katipunan (just to see what the buzz is all about!).

Last friday night was my second time being here. My first experience here was 3 weeks ago. It was alright! Me and my friends had some drinks (which is cheap btw.), plus the bartenders are very accomodating. But the only thing I didn't like is this place can be very crowded to the point where you bump into each other's drinks. I went in at around 5 or 6pm last friday night and it was hella crowded. I love it when they play a song and everyone knows it. You can know what happened after that: you're like in a party where everyone knows each other.

It wasn't my first time at this Katipunan watering hole, but this time we focused on bar chow instead of sticking to drinks--coming here before 4 pm is best if you want to drink in peace. I never go here at night because the crowd gets too loud. We ordered double cherry poppers, a pitcher of Strawberry Fields Forever, onion rings, and chicken skin. My companion ordered garlic-parmesan wings with rice (not pictured).Cherry Popper - watery, vague flavor--can't tell if it was cherry-flavored (based on the name) or grenadine-flavored (because the menu said it was a grown-up Shirley Temple). Not worth it.Strawberry Fields Forever - a refreshing spiked strawberry and basil slushie that is only too easy to drink and isn't too sweet. A must.Chicken Skin - crispy fried chicken skin with vinegar on the side. I could eat this forever.Onion Rings - the breading needed to be a bit zestier since the mayo dip wasn't that garlicky. It was okay.Garlic Parmesan Wings - my friend got this with rice and I nabbed one to taste. The meat was moist and the skin was well-coated with garlic bits and parmesan cheese. Generous serving. Would order for myself in the future.Of course I'll keep going here when I go daydrinking, but I hope they turn the music down a bit, if only before the evening crowd filters in.

Dependable and gets the job done. Whether you're in the mood to drink or have good food at a not so expensive price, Walrus has got you covered. Their strawberry fields and Cuba libre will always taste like college and their chicken skin is the perfect "pulutan"
