We ordered dumplings, pizza roll, hot and sour soup, kuao pao(not in the photo)and hong ma rice. the place is spacious and i liked their lights since it is bright. I dont like the hot and sour soup maybe because it is not chinese style. their dumpling and pizza is so goooodd, you must order it. the kua pao and hongma rice also is good. when we went there their staff are few maybe they should add server.

First time in Uniku and it didn't disappoint. So here goes my review:Parking: They have limited parking space but the nearby shops are almost often empty so problem's solved.Ambience: The place was clean, inviting and brighter than the usual restaurants. The aircon temperature was just right, considering we visited during lunch time. I loved that there were Chinese customers since it gave me the assurance that food must be that good to be patronized by Chinese locals.Food: We ordered pork dumplings, spicy wanton, pork stew kuapao with muy chay and the braised pork rice. The spicy wanton came first, it was served on a bed of bean sprouts/togue and my, it was so fragrant! My boyfriend said it wasn't too spicy but "it.was.good." (That coming from a guy who has meticulous taste) The braised pork rice tasted just okay...my boyfriend teased that they got too lazy to cut up the egg and just propped it unto the bowl. The pork dumplings shall I say, tasted "clean" and paired perfectly with its sauce. I was in dumpling heaven! The pork stew kwapao with muy chay was just a delight. It had the perfect kwapao and pork ratio...I didn't feel like I was running out of meat. What I loved best was their house tea, and the teapot with the spout facing downward (which guaranteed no spilling, and less time before the tea gets cold)Overall, I'd visit this place again.

An okay place to get quick Taiwanese food at an affordable price. They also sell a few frozen items for take-out.Food was so-so (their specialty hongma is not as good as I expected it to be), but their rice, however, is very very delicious! Not much vegetable dishes for those who like greens than meat, though. Place was clean, air-conditioning could be improved, music was nice (Chinese pop music), and parking was limited (same for all restaurants in the area). Service was okay.

It’s a quaint Taiwanese restaurant in the long stretch of food places in Banawe. You won’t notice it right away because their facade is just small and it’s a bit separated already from the main restaurant area.As for the food, it’s decent Taiwanese food for its price. Their prices are not considered cheap, but they’re not too pricey as well considering how big their servings are. Their braised beef rice is okay. I think it would have been much better if the beef was a little bit softer. Their pumpkin cake is pretty good and goes well with the dip. Their spicy wonton is also quite good given that I’m a lover of spicy food. The spiciness level was enough for my liking. The braised pork rice was better than the beef. I find it more flavorful. But for both the beef and pork dishes we ordered, one feature that compensated for the overall taste was their rice. Whatever rice they used, it’s quite good. It was cooked right and the texture was perfect.I like also that they have a whole wall of freezers filled with ready to cook frozen items. They have various flavors of mantou that really looks good. Some of their menu items are also available frozen so you can just cook it or reheat it at home. All in all, the place did not have a wow factor for me, but at the same time it’s also a place that I’m okay to go back to in the future. I just hope that we won’t find a strand of hair again in our rice in our next visit. :)

NEVER AGAIN! Ordered 5kinds of items in their menu. Food taste isn't as impressive as I know of other existing restaurants who offer better with a friendlier price and friendlier ambience. The clincher was when the manager claimed I didn't pay my bill when in fact she didn't give me my change!!! I challenged them to review their cctv cameras. After a 10minutes wait, came my change without any apology for the bad experience the management created!

I loved their mantao, radish cake and kutchay dumplings! The sausage fried rice was alright, while the scallion pancake was too dry for me. Overall, I would recommend this place because not only is it affordable, but the atmosphere & interior of the place are great as well.

The only food that have a semblance of Taiwanese taste or flavor is their pork stew cuapao with muy chay and really delicious. Their hot & sour dumpling soup and radish/pumpkin cakes are total failure, too oily and bland. Prices are reasonable but service is quite slow.

The first thing that struck me was the bright and warm interior and sleek and modern design of the place, which if you're used to Chinese restaurants from Banawe and Binondo, you'd know this is a rare thing to find. The second thing that struck me was the relatively low price for their dishes, barely anything over P200. Now whether this is a good thing or not based on the quality of the food is to be seen. By the way, I don't know if they accept credit cards so make sure before you order! The interior is quite open spaced, far from the feeling of crampness. By far, they are raising expectations quite high. They have limited parking out at front but the stores around seem to be closed, giving more parking. They're across an area with many different modern and nice restaurants (238 Banawe) that might have warranted such a nice design to stay competitive. And since I'm a sucker for aesthetics and design, their menu was really nicely designed, good amount of pictures, clear dish names and prices, and it doesn't barrage you with information. You order by writing down what you want on their menu sheet, which I think is a very efficient way to operate that avoids difficulty of communication. Their kitchen is clean and organized. I love their teapot since it has the downward spout that prevents spilling. It's a quick list of observations that seem random but it's written as I looked around. This is one of those Chinese stores that largely sell their frozen dumplings on display as you enter. They also have delivery. Their operating hours are 10am to 10pm - all this in keeping up with the barrage of random observations and information. We ordered Pork Stew Rice w/ Muy Chay rice (Hong Ma), kuchay, spicy wanton, stinky tofu, pork dumpling, wintermelon soup, and wintermelon drinks. The Hong Ma was visually appealing. The rice to meat ratio was quite unbalanced so don't JUST order this because you'd end up disappointed and hungry still. The flavors of the meat was not too salty, some pieces are A BIT dry, but generally it's good, thought I'd appreciate less dryness and more sauce. I can let the ratio pass since we ordered other stuff. The spicy wanton came as 6 pieces of wonton resting on a bed of togue and chili-soy sauce. It was very delicious! The spice level was just right. Stinky tofu, honestly I didn't get to try it haha. It must be pretty good since it was immediately finished. We tried their pork dumplings and kuchay dumplings next. Kuchay was really good. It was full of vegetables, they definitely didn't skimp on you, not to mention it was really fragrant when you bite into it. The pork dumpling was good also but the kuchay was better. The skin was thin and perfect, you just know they're homemade and fresh. The ginger was perfect in the aroma of kuchay and garlic for the pork. The sauce of the dumplings were very fragrant. Wintermelon soup was small, looks plain, but have to admit, didn't try it, again haha. Wintermelon juice is yum, as always. I honestly don't know why they're rated so low. Will definitely come back! Can't wait to try their other dishes.(Okay, I checked out other reviews as to why they rated low or lower. Generally bad luck ordering the food and some problems that was due to their early operations. Of course being a new restaurant is not an acceptable excuse for flimsy service but it's a factor nonetheless. It seems that they've ironed out the wrinkles so I'm sticking with my rating)Food: 4.5/5Interior: 5/5Service: 4.5/5Value for Money: 5/5———————————————————Got the chance to return here and try their food again. We ordered their Uniku Braised Pork Rice, Kuchay Steamed Dumplings, and their Fried Stew Tofu. The rice was delicious and flavorful. The pork was very tender but the egg was a bit tough and dry. There is a lot of rice so it may be best to order something along with this. The Kuchay were tender and delicious as expected and the sauce was also a good match. The sauce is a bit sweet though. The tofu was tender and full of flavor as well. Overall my ratings stand.

The minced pork rice is as legit as they come. It's delicious and comforting. It never fails. Also, the pork bone with bamboo shoot soup is very good. The guabao is also good and the dumplings are on point. My personal favorite would be the steamed kuchay dumpling.

What I love about Uniku is how the food tastes the way they’re supposed to in Taiwan! My personal pick is their Flaky Scallion Pancakes. They really got the recipe right down to the dip. Our family ate here twice in just a span of past two weeks.
