My first kiss… Okay, it was my second… with The Chocolate Kiss that is.I still remember what I ordered when I first visited The Chocolate Kiss—their famous Devil’s Food Cake (slice: PHP70; whole: PHP700) with all of the gooey marshmallow goodness. It was really good. It deserves to be the café’s bestseller. Moist and flavorful yet you won’t easily get tired of it. It wasn’t very sweet either but still pleases the palate of a sugar-craving website.Since I don’t like ordering the same thing twice, I ordered something different when I “accidentally” visited it last week (we were supposed to go on a picnic but Mother Nature was in a bad mood that day). I ordered Dayap Chiffon Cake (slice: PHP85; whole: PHP950) since the server told us that it is one of their best sellers. My friends ordered the Devil’s Food Cake and Carrot Cake (slice: PHP80; whole: PHP800).Yey!!! The cakes have arrived. Happy… uh… day.I was pretty disappointed that they did not serve the cakes nicely for picture taking purposes. Oh well… cake is still cake. Now to taste the #2 (or was it #3?) best selling cake…The Dayap Chiffon cake is… not something I will order again. I guess I am not fond of citrus cakes. It reminds me of cough syrup for some reason. Then again if you like dishes with a bit of tangy taste, then this is a must try.The carrot cake on the other hand was nothing spectacular. It was moist and good but it is at par with the other carrot cakes I’ve tried before. After having our desserts and on our way to have lunch (yes, we sometimes eat that way), I realized that I have never tried their savory dishes. I now have an instant reason to go back (and try the cheesecakes).

While Chocolate Kiss is situated within the university and it's close to our college, I really haven't had many chances to dine there when I was still a student because of my budget. I remember that yuppies, faculty and "rich kids" (as they would be called) were often seen hanging out. Or, whenever we needed tokens of appreciation for guest speakers, a cake from Chocolate Kiss was usually on the list. What I'm trying to say is that it is considered a special place where friends can reunite over cakes and coffee, where teachers and former students can sit down and make kamustahan over a sumptuous lunch or dinner, and where joggers can cheat with a calorie-loaded breakfast after several rounds at the acad oval! Negative feedback is rare, if not non-existent. I love all their stuff.

I've eaten here at the Chocolate Kiss so many times (with family and friends; after a class back in College, after jogging; for breakfast, lunch or dinner), and each moment brings back happy memories 😊My usual order in this restaurant is their Carbonara, partnered with unlimited iced tea that's served with a small carafe of honey. Their iced tea has a very particular taste which I really love (and miss). I've also tasted their Devil's Food Cake and Chocolate Chip Cheesecake,!which are a couple of their best desserts. I remember an experience when a friend and I dined here, and there was someone playing the piano at the second floor. Very cozy and relaxing. Another time, my family and I had coffee here and I ordered a cup of brewed coffee. It wasn't refillable as per the menu, but I still checked with the waiter if it's possible to have a second cup for free. Fortunately, he granted to serve me another complimentary cup 😁👍🏼Service is good. Most of their staff are bulky guys who are generally pleasant to customers 💪🏼🙃

I was curious about the devil's cake. So I did went here and tried. Its an average cake. Its a sponge cake that is so dey with icong made or cream cheese. Their coffe is blunt and soea not compliment any of their cakes. But kudos to their pasta. That I cannot deny that it tastes good. Tends to be salty for their carbonara but its fine with me. It's how I like it. Their lasagna is a must try. For only 500php you can have a meal for two. And take note that their staff are all hunks- much more like a bouncer in a club.

The food are not so good or nothing is really special. I got very disappointed with their employees as they are not accommodating. We requested the refill of our iced tea but it takes us like 4x to follow-up :( the price are also not worth the food.

Considering the price of food they could do well with an upgrade of the facilities. Place looks a bit rundown (it's not charming anymore) and the tables and chairs are all crowded. Garbage outside of the restaurant was not disposed of appropriately. The 3 I am giving is an average of 4 for the food and 2 for the place.

My parents have fond memories of this place so they bring us here when they have a chance and I have to say that the ambience is nice and the staff are very friendly 👌 a definite must try is my personal favorite the chicken kiev because it is VERY filling for me. My recommendation for dessert is that you get the chocolate kiss suite because it lets you try a bit of four cakes in the menu (Note: The icing of the cakes are super sweet, maybe too sweet for some). Suite or getting a whole cake, I recommend you try the devil's food cake 👍

I remember a few years back, I dined at The Chocolate Kiss branch in Bahay ng Alumni. I remember liking the food, so when Father's Day came along, I brought my entire family to the restaurant's newest branch in UP Town Center. At 3pm, I reserved a table for dinner the same night. Hours later, we arrived full of excitement and hunger.Turns out, a number of the menu items weren't not in stock, most of them being the bestsellers. This is how the night pretty much went: Me: "We'll order the [insert name of dish here]." Staff: "I'm sorry but it's out of stock" or "I'll have to check if it's available." I also noticed that only some of the wait staff was aware of the situation. It even came to a point where I was the one telling the waiter that they couldn't serve a certain dish. He was recommending a certain dish, so I told him what the other waiter told me - that they didn't have the necessary ingredients (like CHICKEN and PASTA). Ang labo eh. They should have disseminated the information properly. Don't wait for the customer to ask for something, only to tell them that they can't have it. It's so disappointing because it was supposed to be a special day for my dad, but we ended up settling for whatever they could cook. Their menu isn't even that comprehensive. Here are some of the dishes we tried ordering, but unfortunately, weren't available: Taco Salad, Chicken Quesadilla, Spinach Cream Dip, Eggplant Parmigiana, Pesto Chicken Penne, Hungarian Sausage and Penne. Too bad I didn't make a list, because I'm sure there's more I don't remember.Anyway, it's really unfortunate since it was a Father's Day and a Sunday. They should have anticipated that a lot of people would be coming. Or you know, they could've told me when I made the reservation hours ago that I wouldn't be able to order half of the menu. Another thing, the staff didn't seem to care about the customers. They had their backs turned to the diners most of the time, so they couldn't see if anyone was trying to get their attention. I understand that they're on soft opening, but really? There were probably just four occupied tables at the time, and I couldn't even get the attention of one out of five waiters. So we pretty much just settled for whatever was available and that was that. Food wasn't even good. Terrible experience. Never going back.

Walang tatalo sa unli iced tea na may honey at calamansi. Masayang tumambay o mag-meeting dito. May mga masasaksakan din kaya madaling magtrabaho. Minsan nga lang ay kailangan pang paulit-ulitin ang waiters para mapansin ang mga oorderin.

Had brunch here earlier today.I ordered Vigan Longganisa which I found to be less garlicky than expected.Regarding the fried rice that came with it, I expected it to be less sticky. However, it was. It seemed like just some steamed rice that they placed into the pan & put some garlic. Voila! Fried rice 😂Miggy wanted to really order Carbonara but with my recent experience of a rather salty carbonara, I urged him to order something else. Glad he took my advice. He got Salisbury Steak instead. According to him, the meat was rather bland but was compensated with the sauce. Nothing really special though. Also, he didn't like the rice. It seemed like it was undercooked.Customer service-wise, they gave me a bottle of vinegar but no saucer came with it. When I requested from one of their waiters, he pointed me to the kitchen staff. I was puzzled as to why. Good thing another waitress overheard and gave me the saucer I needed. However, the saucer was still wet. I wouldn't mind wiping it off but if they stack their saucers like that, it just doesn't seem hygienic. When we asked for our bill, same waiter whom I asked saucer from pointed to the cash register. I didn't get what he was trying to say again 😂 So I requested for it from another waiter. Yes, he gave us our bill but didn't seem glad to be of service though. Most of their crews today just seemed disinterested in flashing a smile at 11am.
