A slice in your plate is a smile in your face. True indeed at Baker's Table Specialty Cake House. All made to order cakes are baked with goodness of Filipino traditional candies like Haw Haw, Viva, Butterball, Lala, Flat Tops, Hany ,Mikmik, Potchie and all these yummy pinoy candies that can be found in a sari sari store. I was impressed of how they came up with the idea of highlighting all of our regular Filipino candies instead of the imported ones. And when you taste it, it's a Pinoy Pride i promise you! Although they also make imported ones upon request like snickers, and some imported candies but the price is going to be higher. I requested a customized Milo cake for my son's birthday and it was awesome! I liked the concept so much but i especially loved that we are patronizing Filipino brands of candies and how they made it taste more delicious than the imported ones. Check it out in Maginhawa Street. RECOMMENDED! #PusangGala- [ ]

My sister-in-law recommended this place after we had a flavorful Fil-mex meal nearby and craved something sweet. I hate this to be the first impression I have of the place, but it certainly smelled like a bathroom deodorizer. Once I got over it and decided to breathe thru my mouth, I began to appreciate the quaint-looking interior. We headed to the cake display and asked the lady behind the counter what cakes were available. There were only 4, and we got Hany and Flattops to go for Php110/slice. It takes a few bites before you can taste the candy flavor but it's there. The cake is really deliciously moist and the frosting is not too sweet - just the right milky chocolatey taste. I would love to try the other flavors - hopefully they're available next time. *****Ordered cake to go again some time last week (14 Sep 2017) and it's probably my preference or the other cakes (Butterball and Hawhaw milk candy) were just too sweet for my liking but I'll probably go with the chocolate-based cakes next time.

+ Delicious cakes (not too dense and not too sweet); Friendly server- Space is too small and could only accommodate a number of customersFAVORITES* Butterball Cake (icing is just right; despite its caramel flavor, the cake is still not too sweet)* Hawhaw Cake (the flavor is spot on; only has a hint of the haw-haw flavor; not something that you'll get easily tired to eat)Verdict: Would love to come back again. The unique cake flavors are all perfect as a treat after a long day. I hope they could expand someday to accommodate more dine-in orders.

We ordered our daughter’s cake from them after reading a lot of good reviews about their cakes. It was a custom Butterball cake, and it really didn’t disappoint. When you hear cake made with candies, you’ll first think maybe it will be too sweet. But no. Surprisingly, their cakes are not as sweet as you would expect despite using local candies as ingredients. The frosting used is also not too sweet and is more like whipped cream in taste and texture. I’ve also tried their Potchi cheesecake and Haw-Haw cake. All of them are good but my favorite so far is the Potchi cheesecake. I’m looking forward to trying their other cakes soon.

A few months back I had the good fortune of attending one of Manila's dessert scenes most anticipated events... Lifestyle Inquirer's Best Desserts book launch. And this is a great showcase of all things sweet and decadent. One of the featured bakers is The Baker's Table of Maginhawa, QC. Their claim to fame is their interpretation of beloved Filipino candies into the most inspired cakes. One of these creations is the Butterball Cake. What i like about this cake is that it is light and not too sweet. One slice is good with a pair of tea or coffee. Or in my case with a tall cold glass of milk. Super indulgent. This is something nice to introduce to balikbayan friends and family to rekindle the long lost love of childhood treats. Recommended.

I recently heard of this novel cake place online and right away I planned a trip here out of curiosity. The Baker's Table has been around 3 years and have been serving your Filipino candies way back and turning them into cakes. Because of its recent resurgence, the cakes have been disappearing faster. Last night, my friend and I only got to try 2. Just two out of the more than 10 cakes they have. The Hany cake was delicious but its resemblance to the flaky chocolate is not too vivid. Its chiffon parts are soft and fluffy, its cream light and not as sweet. The Haw Haw Milk was better, it's creamy and should be an easy favorite to milk lovers. They serve coffee besides just cakes. We got to share their bold blend of Hazelnut, it's a must try. Other cakes that are popular include Flat Tops and the Butterball. Too bad they weren't available. Perhaps another trip?

I ordered their Butterball Cake!!!The cake was just heavenly. It was alright and not that sweet. The Place is small but cozy. The flavors of their cakes were actually cool and unique because they were based on some of the famous sweets available here in the Philippines and reminded me of the things I used to eat when I was a kid. Next time i would definetely try their flat top and Haw-Haw cake.

The place is very small but everytime I go here there's always an available seat. Cakes are delicious. It will remind you of your childhood. Their potchi cheesecake is my favorite. You will really taste the sweetness of potchi. The butterball and mik mik are also delicious. Cakes are only 110 pesos and cheesecake is 120 pesos.
