What’s better than a Friday night with good food and booze?Last website FMU at The 6th Pool Bar and Lounge was really a fun night. I arrived here early as I wanted to take photos of the place before we start drowning ourselves with alcohol. The place is so pretty! It has nice couches surrounding the swimming pool. The lights and sound system are perfect for the place.Initially, I had one of their best-sellers, The 6th Sour (290php). It’s Midori, Angostura bitter, and calamansi juice. I truly enjoyed this drink. It tasted more like mojito, but it’s more than that. The Manager told me that this is liked by most of the patrons here. We were also served the following.**Frozen Strawberry Margarita (290php)Tequila, calamansi juice, strawberry syrup. **Frozen mango Daiquiri (290php)Dark Rum, mango juice, calamansi juice. ** The 6th Coffee-tini (290php)Vodka, Kahlua, coffee, almond syrup. Out of these three, I liked theFrozen Strawberry Margarita the most. It’s themost colourful and sweet for me. It was not my first time to try a coffee-tini. I really like the combination of alcohol and coffee. However, their classic Mojito is still the best drink for methat night. They really do Mojito good. Trust me. It was refreshing, and it has a nice alcohol content. I’m not sure, but I thinkI had at least 2 glasses of their Mojito. Not to mention that I already had much that night. It’s just that good!!! We were also served food that night. ** Tuna Skewers (550php)This was really good!!! Okay actually the meat was initially served to us well-done, and it did not leave a nice impression to us. However, they served this again the way it’s supposed to be served and it was nothing but perfection. The soft meat was melting inside my mouth. ** MurghTikka (450php)This came with their homemade yogurt and spices with roti and coriander chutney. I truly enjoyed this one as I’m a fan of this cuisine. I wish we also have beer that night as I used to partner such dishes with beer. Ha! I’ll be back for sure. **Pizza lungga with organic rucola and Pizza Bianco and rosemary (450php / 550php)I like the white one better but both tasted good actually. China recommended to eat the two together for a better experience but it was too late as I consumed my share already. :P The service was truly good. All our requests were attended. I also liked the character of the staff who assisted us as she truly helped me obtain a nice photo by holding my drink while I focus the camera. I’ll definitely be back for their drinks and for their Freedom Friday! Thanks website and Novotel!

When I was working in Cubao a few eons ago, the lot infront of SM Cubao and Shopwise were both empty. When I visited last week, the busy Cubao area became more abuzz with new mixed use buildings and Novotel Manila filling in the void. It was a long time coming and speaking with their very friendly Marketing Manager it shows it was a wise decision to put up Araneta Center's first 5 star hotel. The 6th Pool Bar and Lounge is a hidden gem in Cubao. This is the first time I've seen a hotel dedicate a large airconditioned restaurant outlet for the pool area. It has a good seating capacity perfect to lounge with family and friends. Fridays are even more special with their Freedom Fridays (EDM anyone?) promo - where you can swim, party and have a drink for only 300++ pesos!Tuna skewers from Roxas and Pancetta stick with coriander P550 - this is an excellent pair with your drink or bubbly! The tuna was fresh and the pancetta was seared enough to retain a certain level of crunch without overcooking the tuna.Sharing Platter with Hummus Baba Ghannouj and Tzatziki P500 - pita bread with various dips. I wish the bread was more though because there was left over dip that could use some bread lovin.Murg Tikka (Chicken) P450 - moderately spiced chicken, moist and juicy.Pizza Lungga with organic rucola P450 - crusty and chewy, the greens was a good pair to the pizza's tomato base.Pizza Bianco and rosemary P550 - i'm not really a fan of white pizza but this totally turned the table! It had a reasonable amount of cheese but was not salty which i liked. We also had a couple of hard drinks which I enjoyed. If the Freedom Fridays promo is not enough reason for you to dropby at Novotel Manila, then try to check out their discounted deals at metrodeal.com. Novotel Manila Restaursnt outlets are offering discounted vouchers up to 40% off! Recommended for a dip or just to lounge and forget time.Sponsored Friday night dinner and drinks by Novotel Manila.

I’m always on the lookout for a new place to hang out in Quezon City (Metro Manila, Philippines). As a northerner, I often have to travel all the way to Makati or BGC for a nice, fairly upscale place to chill. I’m also often stumped whenever I need a place to have a nightcap after watching a concert or attending an event at the Araneta Coliseum. The establishments around the dome often close early or they just aren’t the kind of place I really want to hang out in.

After a long, tiring, and traffic day, we head out to Novotel in Cubao for some R&Rs.Ambience – 4/5Service – 5/5Location – 5/5Food – 4/5Food Recommendation:Tuna skewers from Roxas and Pancetta stick with Coriander (PhP 550.00)- Melts-in-your-mouth tuna wrapped in pancetta. It is seared until crunchy without fully cooking the tuna inside.Drink Recommendation:Mojito (PhP 280)- Sooo refreshing! Their mojito is one of the best that I have ever tried. Made me forget the awful traffic and tiring day that I had. A must try!Other food that we tried:Pizza Bianco and Rosemary (PhP 550.00)Sharing Platter with Hummus Baba Ghannouj and Tzatziki (PhP 500.00)Murg Tikka (PhP 450.00)Pizza Lungga with Organic Rucola (PhP 450.00)

August 4, 2017The boyfie and I were invited to play for their Friday event. The resto is, as expected, beside the quite picturesque pool. We ordered dinner prior to us playing for the event as part of our signing bonus. We shared the Fettuccini Carbonara (Php550) and Chicken Lollipop (Php300). The pasta dish was really creamy while the second dish was not so remarkable. The dish was a tad too expensive for the size of the serving though. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
