    Rice Meals Review OnlyCuisine: JapaneseFood: Me and my sister tried the rice meals "Japanese Braised Pork and Beef Gyudon" and for the drinks "Mango Orange with Nata de Coco and Honey Lemon. The pork was thinly sliced like bacon strips and tasted like "local pares". Beef has this weird soury taste. I'm not sure if it because of how it was cooked or the beef wasn't refrigerated well. Servings were quite small for the price though they look and smell appetizing. I like the green garnish they put on the rice. For the drinks, I like the crunchy texture of the nata in mango orange juice and honey lemon was just fine.Ambience: I like the Kawaii look of tamayaki. It is very animated, lively. It brings you happiness.Actually, it appears like a bar. For me,the music doesn't fit the atmosphere. They are playing tagalog rap songs the time we visited the place.Place: The place was fabulously clean. Not crowded. Based on my observation, they frequently get take out orders than dine in customers.

    We all know there's a lot of takoyaki stands in the market, but have you ever wondered where you could get the biggest and uniquely flavored ones? Enter Tamayaki at SM North Edsa!Tamayaki is a well-established franchise which originated from China that specializes in making quality takoyaki balls. They started out last 2013 and as you've remembered I've visited their first branch at P. Guevarra.Check out my previous food review right here!If you're wondering where you could find Tamayaki, it is conveniently located at the 2nd floor of the SM North Main Building near JCo and Coldstone. The store is quite eye-catching so I'm sure you won't miss it!The interior design of the store is very striking in a sense that they played around with fun colors and interesting textures like hot pink, purple and chrome to create a futuristic look that would appeal most to the young.Tako in Japan means octopus while yaki is derived from the word yaku which is a cooking method in Japanese cuisine that means "to fry or grill". Just like the same applies to teppanyaki.What exactly did I mean when I said uniquely flavored? The usual takoyaki balls consists of wheat-flour based batter, filled with diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, green onions or cabbages.Theirs are not your ordinary ones because they like to experiment with the traditional and the new.Imagine Grilled Steak as one of their takoyaki flavors, that's really an interesting mix!Their takoyaki comes in various delectable mouthwatering, and innovative flavors that are sure to fit the taste palate of both the old and young generation. Something I'll get to in a little while.If you're curious as to how takoyaki balls are made, here's a quick video! I'm sorry for the low quality video. I think there's something wrong with my camera and YouTube that I don't really understand.Other than hot takoyaki, they have a wide variety of beverages. Tea lovers would rejoice as they also have an endless choice of milk tea, fruit tea along with interesting add ons. I admit, I've been to a lot of milk tea places but it's the first time for me to encounter a rice ball as an add on.MENUIf you're gonna compare your typical takoyaki with Tamayaki's, you might find it a little more expensive. However, you will get what you paid for. First, they don't just fill theirs with cabbages and call it a day!! Second, their servings are nowhere near their competitors. I swear, it's a little bit heavy for a snack. I wish I took a photo for comparison.Milk TeaBlueberry Cheese Milk Tea (P100)Of all their milk tea, I have to say that this is one of my favorites. It is not too sour that is a little bit similar to yogurt that I find very interesting and refreshing.TakoyakiOne order contains four takoyaki balls ranging for P95 to P125 depending on the flavor. I like how they put them into these cute packaging, plus it's also very convenient to take them out if you're in a hurry.Here's a photo for comparison. Both of these are Kani and Shrimp takoyaki but the one on the left is drizzled with the spicy sauce while that on the right is the regular one.Seasoned Octopus (P115)See what I mean? They don't scrimp on the ingredients that they put into the takoyaki balls! I don't know if you could spot the other chunks of octopus in the photo but I found at least three of them there!Kani and Shrimp (P115)If kani sounds familiar to you, it's one of those ingredients that you would usually find in your sushi rolls.If you're into seafood, you should give this one a shot!Grilled Steak (P125)One of my favorites for the takoyaki flavors because I love the smokey taste it has.Almost everyone agreed that the chunks of steak inside are very delicious.Mussels and Cheese (P125)Just like all their takoyaki balls, this one is crispy on the outside and has a soft texture on the inside. If you love baked tahong, this one might be perfect for you.All in all, I am definitely glad that they have one now at SM North so that I won't have to visit P. Guevarra anymore! That street address is quite difficult to visit if you're a geographically challenged commuter like me.     I love takoyaki balls. Before there was just the samurai balls stalls in supermarkets. Then there was octoboy. So when I saw this resto I was intrigued. As it was lunchtime I ordered chicken teriyaki, it was disappointing, it was bland. But as expected takoyaki is good.

    The perfect place for Takoyaki fans, of course! The place looks cool, and the ambiance is nice. They have lots of takoyakis with different fillings. My mom and I had kani & shrimp. It's tasty and has generous amount of filling. They also serve milk tea but I haven't tried it.

    Tamayaki sure does get their takoyaki right! Flavorful sauce ✓ Serving size ✓ Real octopus ✓ Dancing squid flakes* ✓ Vegetables ✓ Served hot ✓ Lively resto ✓ Nice playlist ✓I would gladly pay over a hundred bucks to get this kind of Takoyaki goodness :3 Although not regularly, ahahaha. If only they made the price on the 80-100 range, then it's perfect. Good thing that on the 2nd time we went here, they had the 50% OFF on the 2nd order of Takoyaki promo, which is a great deal.At their price range, I wasn't expecting to see that they serve their takoyaki in cardboard boxes, nor let customers use small plastic forks which is just the same as that used in food kioks in the MRT.Well, what matters is the Takoyaki itself and I have no complaints on this. I also liked that they offer a myriad of fillings for the Takoyaki, aside from the classic octopus. Check their menu for the choices. I would recommend those with cheese :) You can also choose if you want the spicy sauce or not, or mixed = 2 balls spicy and 2 are not.I haven't tried their milk teas and shakes, 'cause buying the takoyaki is expensive enough. They have a water pitcher available and I believe you can ask the staff if you want ice.Not sure if this is a rare case, but the takoyaki that was served to my friend was toasted on the outside. Now, in cheaper food kiosks, their strategy when they have a burned batch is to distribute the burnt balls to different customers so that not just one customer will get all the bad ones. Thinking about it now, this is not always possible at Tamayaki because of the different filling each ball has, so switching them will not work. Because of our traditional Filipino values, we accepted our fate. I just offered her my Takoyaki instead.On a side note, I think they have a theme for their music playlist for each day. During the last time, they were playing emo love songs, ahahaha.*The first time I saw the squid flakes, albeit in a different resto, we didn't know what it was. They were moving! We were boggled, then mesmerized, then puzzled, wahahaha.

    Hello Sweeties!I have been a fan of Takoyoki the yummy Japanese snack food filled with Octopus for several years now, there are several kiosk inside the popular malls serving this snack filled with octopus and vegetables. So many generic kinds out there, some not as tasty as others.Tamayaki distinguished itself as being one of the few takoyaki brands with a stand up store not just a small booth. Along with other food bloggers we had a food tasting at their SM North EDSA branch, this branch can house 40 or so people to dine in. The takoyaki balls all look alike, but for the filling inside. Original takoyaki is octopus filled but at Tamayaki they have other interesting flavors to choose from. Unlike the other regular takoyaki, you can tell how generous the filling is. Grilled Steak, one of the best flavors I have tried from their selection of fillings. Crispy and crunchy on the outside, flavors burst inside once you take a bite, it really does taste like the actual grilled steak! Takoyaki is best consumed hot. Pairing these delicious takoyaki with Tamayaki’s Milk Teas, I had the Macha Milk Tea with adzuka beans and with extra pearls, I am used to drinks in plastic cups, these were all served in durable paper cups. So Eco friendly, their takoyaki us also served in cardboard boxes. They have a Party Service or bulk services as well, where you can have them bring their best selling takoyaki to you! Try their food cart service. If you want to hold a special occasion in their store, their largest branch  located at P. Guevarra St. San Juan has 2 levels that can accommodate a large gathering.If you have a harking for a unique and filling snack, a great selection of milk teas, Tamayaki is the place to be. Takoyaki Never Tasted So Good!

    If ur craving for a good takoyaki i recomend this place they offer so many flavors of takoyaki such us octopus which is my fav. The service was good and organize a good place to chill..

    When you enter Tamayaki it's like you are entering a world of cuteness! Not only does it give you that Japanese feel but it also offers the delightful taste of the sweet seasoned octopus takoyaki. Be prepared to pay more since their takoyaki is more expensive than the ones you usually find at the food kiosks at the supermarket. But it's always worth a try.

    I really love the vibe on their restaurant for this outlet. I believe other outlets are mostly kiosks. Anyway, the service was nice. We ordered the octopus takoyaki and slow cooked pork (not sure if it's the exact name though) ramen. I really loved the ramen. I mean, not the best but it's better than others considering the affordability. For the takoyaki, I haven't tried much takoyaki for me to give a verdict but I liked the real octopus inside. But the flour part is a bit huge compared to the insides.. And I think their takoyaki price is a bit expensive. In any case, I liked my bonding experience with my sister to this place. Would love to be back here and try the other variety of their ramens and takoyaki.

    My girlfriend and i went here yesterday and we tried their takoyaki bestsellers which are kani and shrimp, seasonal octopus, lobster ball and cheese and pork korean bbq. 2-3 set of takoyaki is more than enough for 2 people. You also have to try their milkteas, tamayaki and wintermelon is their bestsellers for milkteas. Enjoy eating takoyakis!😁😁
