A Vegan-friendly place where you can just relax and tone down a bit. Tucked along the busy and website streets of Banawe is where you could find this Modern Tea Shop.Superduck offers wide variety of light snacks called Quackers and Pastas which are Vegan. The Crispy Shrooms and Tofu Bites are my favorites, yum!The Vegan Pastas- Spaghetti and V-Meatballs and Carbonara are also a must try! Carbonara was creamy while the Spaghetti was just okay.Had varieties of their Basic Teas, Milk Teas and Fruit Teas and I must say, every one had their own signature taste. My personal favorite would be the Black Tea, Heineken Green Tea, Tropical QQ, Wintermelon Nai Kai, Pearl Milktea and Black Sesame Pearl Milk Smoothie, just to name a few.I swear, visiting the place will be worth your while and everything on the menu is also affordable and cheap. The Super Duck Fried Chicken and Egg Custard Pao's also a must try! Chicken's crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside, not too much breadings too. The Egg Pao's gooey center tops everything off, so so good!Overall, it was a great website experience! Ambiance is nice and homey, there's also free wifi, perfect for individuals who wants to chill or for students who wants to study.

Take the time to explore the extensive menu available at SuperDuck, because there are more offerings for brewed tea, juice, and pearl milk flavors than you might have otherwise realized. Brought into the Philippines in 2012 by two Chinese Filipino entrepreneurs (one of whom is a good friend of mine), Superduck has set out to serve fresh tasting teas, juices, and milk teas without the additives and preservatives. They've also recently revamped and expanded their menu to include vegetarian-friendly snacks and Chinese-inspired plates, which are often the waterloo of Asian teahouses in this segment. Small plates between P50-95 accompany the drinks - from fries, to veggie cheesedogs, veggie meat nuggets, and calamares. Dynamite rolls with the requisite green chilis have real meat in them. Of the lot, crispy oyster mushrooms, coated in a crunch, savory batter, are my absolute, absolute favorite. Pasta lovers can choose between mild-flavored veggie meat carbonara, or tomato pasta with vege meatballs. But meat eaters are not left out. There's a chori burger with a matcha basil aioli and achara pickle, as well as nice trays of fried chicken fillets with gravy, and "Quack Pao" mantou sandwiches with savory pork. My first choice will always be their rice meal, the 12-hour tea-infused pork belly, served with half an egg and a bowl of rice, the portion just right - not too big, not small. The egg custard pao, filled with salted egg liquid gold, is a good dessert that won't compete with their drinks. As I said earlier,  their drinks selection is extensive; take a little time to study it, because there are lots of gems in the selection. Non-tea drinkers can try their Perfect Juices, some of which have perilla or aloe vera, the latter ideal for overheated bodies. "Sinkers" like pearl and various kind of jelly marry well with Milk and Premium Milk Tea series, which are coffee, fruit, or tea based, and Mellow Milk Drinks in chocolate, tea, or matcha. Fruit flavors are also combined to make milk tea (Fruity Milk Tea), but you can omit the milk (Fruit Tea). And finally, there is classic Fresh Flavor Tea - brewed tea that comes from Black, Green, or Oolong tea; and then there is Yakult topped tea, or Nai Kai-topped tea. Nai Kai is what most people know as Cheese-topped with Rock Salt tea. And Nai Kai at SuperDuck is absolutely tops! The Wintermelon Nai Kai should be tried by everyone at some point. So you can come here to drink simply brewed tea, or more eclectic flowery infusions (e.g., rose lemon tea, with aloe vera sinkers, which won me over, even if I don't enjoy rose flavoring.) The pearl milk tea comes with small, chewy sago, and interesting toppings like Black Sesame. Grass jelly lovers will love the torn bits of gelatin combined with the homey taste of brown rice in a Roasted Matcha tea. Heineken Green Tea is a great way to enjoy the light hoppy flavor of beer with the flowery taste of the green tea, while the Yakult with Kiwi provides you with the Vit.C boost of kiwifruit and the healthy probiotics in the Yakult. My impression of SuperDuck is that it surpasses a lot of the milk tea stations and brands who first came around offering "boba tea" in unhealthy, processed mixes; that isn't good for anyone. The fresh flavors and enticing combinations are there for people to play with. What I think SuperDuck is trying to do is show us that healthy tea drinks are there, and they've got a new healthy menu to go with it. Thank you to website and the owners of SuperDuck for hosting this fun and filling visit.

I'm an avid fan of milktea ever since it started to boom here in the Philippines years ago. But I must admit, even though I really love drinking milktea, I didn't have that much information or knowledge about Tea before.Super Duck Modern Tea Shop is a famous Taiwanese tea shop that originated from Lukang ChangHua County, Taiwan and was brought to the Philippines in 2012. Currently, they already have 3 branches in QC and 1 in Ortigas area.Last March 15, 2016 (Tuesday), I was glad to be invited by website and Super Duck Modern Tea Shop for a food tasting at their D. Tuason branch. Never heard of this tea shop before (well since I don't normally go to other places besides Marikina nowadays) but hey they do have lots of positive reviews on website so I knew this was different from the usual tea shops I went to.Before the food tasting, we were oriented about where the Tea originated from, how it was made and also they shared with us the different kinds of Teas. I really liked this part since it helped me understood more about Teas.Let's go look at this branch interiors. Place is very spacious, cozy, and really a perfect spot for long tambays with friends. They also have more seats upstairs.I won’t make this intro long.. so below are the the samples of the teas that were given to us.BASIC TEA:Black teaJasmin TeaOolong Tea White Tea- Among all the basic tea, I find the Black Tea perfect for my taste. While the white tea doesn't really have that much taste since they were no sugar added.FRUIT TEA:Rose Lemon Tea with Aloe Vera (Php95)Tropical Fruit QQ Tea (Php95/110)- I like both the fruit teas since I like that I can really taste the fruits bits and the fresh tea. Though I really really liked the Rose Lemon Tea a lot! Never tasted this anywhere so this is something I would really comeback for! :)Passion Fruit with Perilla Seeds (Php80/90)- What I liked about this is that they really used real Passion fruit for this tea. I also like the Perilla seeds along with it.TEAS:Pearl Milk tea- I find the pearl milk tea very creamy and smooth, just the way I want it. I don't usually order plain Pearl milk tea but this was a game changer for me. Not the usual pearl milk tea I tasted before. I liked this pearl milk tea a lot.Yakult Kiwi (Php100)- Didn't knew until now that yakult and kiwi tastes good when combined into a tea drink. I liked this a lot! Black sesame pearl Milk Smoothie- Very light taste and smooth.Heineken Green Tea- One of my faves from the drinks given to us. Never tried a beed with tea drink and yep, I liked this drink a lot! Very distinct so I will also come back for this drink.Roasted Matcha with Brown Rice and Grass Jelly (Php95/110)- I'm matcha lover but never really tried the "real"/non powdered matcha drink. I also liked this drink since I was able to taste the matcha well along with the brown rice and grass jelly.Oreo Oolong Milk Smoothie- I liked this drink too and I think most teenagers would order this one since it's a sweet milk smoothie.Wintermelon Nai Kai (Rock Salt and Cheese)- One of the best tea ever!!! They used real wintermelon for this drink and the Nai Kai on top was the sooo good! Just a trivia, the owners told us that the right way to drink this is not to stir or mix the Nai Kai on top. To be able to enjoy this, just drink it the way it is. Their Nai Kai is very distinct, perfect rsc for me. I will definitely comeback for this drink!Golden Oolong Tea Bag- The golden oolong tea was good. Perfect drink right after we eat.Actually, I can't seem to choose 1 as my favorite milktea from them since EVERYTHING were sooo good! But my top faves are Rose Lemon Tea, Heineken Green Tea and Wintermelon Nai Kai. I really liked that I can taste the intensity of the tea in every drinks we had. And ALL are deliciously different from my usual milk tea.We were also given food samples starting with Quacker Sample (Fries (Php50), Tofu Bites (Php65), Cheesdog (Php90), Nuggets (Php90), Crispy Shrooms (Php70), V-Calamares (Php90), Dynamite) - Everything was made from veggies except the dynamite. Not greasy nor oily, just perfect for every bite. The best for me is the Crispy Shrooms. A really must try.Veggie Pasta:Spaghetti with Soy Meatballs (Php100)Vegetarian Carbonara (Php120)- For pasta, I find it plain and ordinary. The spaghetti sauce lacks more tomato taste but I liked the Soy Meatballs a lot.Pizza Sampler (Bacon Mushroom, Shrimp Pesto, Hawaiian, Vegetarian)- I find the thin crust perfect along with a milk tea. I also liked the Hawaiian pizza a lot since there were really lots of cheese on that flavor. HahaQuack Pao- wasn't able to taste this one :(Chori Burger with Matcha Basil Aioli- I was starting to get full when I took a bite on this burger. Not a fan of Chorizo but I did liked the taste of the burger along with the chorizo and matcha basil aioli. Right combination, perfect for my taste.Super Duck Fried Chicken with Gravy- I liked that they their super duck chicken had a distinct taste which everyone would really like. The chicken was crispy and juicy inside. It was really fried well, not too oily or greasy.12-Hour Tea-infused Pork Belly with Rice- It was good though I was expecting for a sweet taste on this one. Egg Custard Pao- Best dessert ever! The oozing egg custard inside is definitely heaven!By the way, they were so generous to give us free take out drinks of our choice. I got the Premium Milk Tea Coco Oolong Adzuki Bean Pearl Milk Tea (Php120).- Very tasty, milky and smooth. I liked the combination if the Adzuki beans aling with the pearls on my drink.Overall, I never appreciated a tea shop until today. The information we learned about Teas really helped me understand how a tea was made. I liked that this tea shop is very distinct and different from what I usually order. Since I really wanna comeback and try again my fave drinks mentioned, I do hope they'll have kiosk on malls or public areas since the D. Tuazon branch and other branches aren't that accessible for me. They also need more promotion in social media accounts as I think, Super Duck really deserves a recognition when it comes to quality and healthy teas. Will try to visit other branches soon especially that I'm craving for my fave drinks mentioned above as of writing. Haha

I was first introduced to tea when I went to Malaysia four years ago. My mom made me tasted Teh Tarik which is the famous tea in Malaysia. I even visited Cameron Highlands where their Tea Plantation is located! From then on I became addicted to tea. When milk tea became popular here in the Philippines, I am one of their avid customers. He He He! So imagine my excitement when I was invited by my website Family for a Tea Meetup!

Check out our episodes on Super Duck:Part 1: tinyurl.com/ShetSarapS02E08Part 2: tinyurl.com/ShetSarapS02E09ShetSarap was invited to another website meet-up at Super Duck. When we heard about the place, the last thing we thought it would be was a milk tea place but, there it was. When we came in it really had a really chill vibe where anyone would just love to “tambay.” They first served us several teas such as black tea and oolong tea, and they were all very sweet compared to the usual tea one drinks before having meals in any typical Chinese restaurant. It already had a nice flavor beforehand, and the extra sugar really went well with the actual tea, but the drink that we all liked the most was the plain white tea, because it was so refreshing as it went down our throats. After drinking the sweetness of all of the other teas, the white tea just cleansed all of that sugar away and it felt like a fresh start. We all agreed that we never had tea this effective, and it was a great way to start before getting to taste the other food. That’s right, there were TONS of food in Super Duck, and the best part about the food is that they were surprisingly good! You’d never expect food like this from a milk tea place. Their super duck fried chicken was really flavorful, not just the skin, but also the actual meat. Their chori burger had an authentic Filipino longganissa taste that was sweet and oozing with flavor in every bite. As surprising as it was, they also served pizza, which may be in par with other establishments that also serve pizza. They also had carbonara, which had tofu instead of meat, and had a hotdog texture and ham taste that made it taste just like regular non-vegetarian carbonara. There may have been some dishes that were not so impressive -- the spaghetti had too much cheese and not enough sauce, the 12 hr tea marinated pork was overpowered by the sweet, oriental flavor (we were trying to look for the tea flavor), but for the price of all of the meals, most of them were definitely worth a try.We were served several kinds of milk teas, and the ones that stood out were the Wintermelon Nai Kai and the Oreo Oolong. Wintermelon Nai Kai left us speechless. The cheese floating on top of the tea was perfect, the taste of the tea hitting our tongues right after, was perfect. No more, no less. The chocolatey-Milo-y taste with a hint of the tea flavor of the Oreo Oolong was precious. It is a perfect millennial drink, for sure -- having a kiddy sense with the choco, and a grown-up vibe with the tea.In the end, we had so much fun eating the food and having the drinks because they were all so different from the usual stuff we eat and drink, especially the various milk teas. The only problem is that there were so much to choose from that we weren’t sure what drink to get! They have an extensive menu of milk teas that tea lovers and casual tea drinkers would enjoy having. Super Duck is a place we’d definitely recommend to other students who’d just want to study, hang out, or just chill in a place with reasonable food and really solid drinks.

Super Duck Modern Tea Shop is a lively little tea shop serving natural, organic, high quality tea, and delicious food at very affordable prices. To give you an idea: their version of the popular rock salt cheese tea, called Nai Kai, is only P100 for the large size! The name Super Duck can be a bit misleading, but the franchise is a direct import from Taiwan, the name being 超級達可時尚茶飲, the Duck part being a direct phonetic translation, and that’s why it’s named Super Duck. It has nothing to do with ducks. But don’t be so disappointed Super Duck has the best food I have ever had from a milk tea chain, and at really, very inexpensive prices.I visited the newly-renovated D. Tuazon branch with some website friends. It looks like your typical milk tea chain, but is well-lighted. There is more space on the second floor.THE TEAS I tried so many teas that day that it’s beyond my capacity to remember how each and every one of them tasted. I do remember that I liked most of them. What I remember liking are:- the plain black basic tea- Rose Lemon Tea with Aloe Vera, which I think is perfect for summer- Wintermelon Nai Kai (rock salt and cheese), I love that their rock salt cheese has real cheese bits inside- Pearl Milk Tea – Super Duck’s milk tea is a light but aromatic milk tea, in contrast to the stronger tea-flavored ones of other milk tea shops- Passion Fruit with Perilla Seeds – this one is refreshing, too. Perilla is rich in antioxidants, which help to prevent chronic disease and delays aging.- Roasted Matcha with Brown Rice and Grass Jelly- Yakult Kiwi- Black Sesame Pearl Milk Smoothie- Oreo Oolong Milk Smoothie- Heineken Green Tea- Avocado and Pudding SmoothiePrices range from P65 to P125 for the Large size. The teas, fruits, seeds, sinkers, etc… are all fresh, every day. Super Duck doesn’t use any of those chemical flavorings for their drinks.THE FOODWe started with the Quackers – these are an assortment of fried foods like fries, tofu bites, vegetarian cheesedogs, nuggets, crispy shrooms, vegetarian calamares, and the dynamite, green peppers filled with cheese.I thought they were really done well. The oil used to fry them was fresh, the food was not greasy and stayed crisp even after a long time. They were not too salty, either. Everything was lightly flavored. Delicious and yet, tasted healthy. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is better than most fried food in other restaurants, and I would definitely be ordering these as appetizers every time I visit Super Duck! Price ranges from P60-P90. Super Duck Pearl Milk Tea QuackersWe also tried the vegetarian pastas, Spaghetti with Vegetarian Meatballs (P125) and Veggie Carbonara (P125). They were just okay, but I kind of liked the vegetarian meatballs. I would order the vegetarian meatballs for pica-pica if I could. We also tried the Pizzas – Bacon Mushroom (P230), Garlic Shrimp (P250), Hawaiian (P230), and Vegetarian (P200). The pizzas are thin, the dough made fresh, and I think are on par with the more well-known pizza places offering this kind of thin pizza! But Super Duck’s pizzas are so much more affordable! Hopefully, in the future, they can also offer alfalfa sprouts and arugula on the side. Unfortunately, Super Duck doesn’t offer their pizzas for take out because the crust might get soggy. So they recommend eating the pizza at the store. Their pizzas are definitely something you need to try, I liked the Hawaiian best.We also tried the Quack Pao (P75) – this is a pork belly (hong ma) sandwich with some salted Chinese vegetables that can be an acquired taste, but if you like cuapao, you’ll probably like this. If you are looking for a traditional Taiwanese meal, I suggest the 12-Hour Tea-infused Pork Belly (Hong Ma) with Rice (P125) with half egg (P8). You can’t go wrong with soy-braised pork belly :)Next, we also had the Chori Burger with Matcha Basil Aioli (P125) – this was my favorite dish! It is a flavorful meat burger that tastes like chorizo, and the matcha basil aioli was just perfect with it! The burger meat is ground up pretty well, so it won’t have the more crumbly consistency that you might be more used to.I also thought that the Tea-Fried Chicken (P99 for 1-pc, with rice; P159 for 2-pc, with rice) was absolutely delicious. It was golden, crunchy, juicy, not too salty. Are you seeing a pattern here? The food at Super Duck is delicious but tries to be healthy where it can – they avoid using more salt than necessary, avoid chemicals, use fresh oil, etc…For dessert, we had the Egg Custard Pao (P42 for 1 pc, P80 for 2 pcs). This is a small “siopao” that has a filling of custard and salted egg yolk! Super yum! If you have never tried a yellow custard / salted egg filling before, you must give this a try just to get an idea of why everyone who has tried a salted egg yolk filling becomes in love with it. Although personally, I would prefer the pao a little more toasted. I would probably put it in the oven toaster for a few minutes before eating if I had it at home. SUMMARYI still can’t believe that a large Nai Kai drink only costs P100! You can customize your drink to your liking as much as you want, too. There are so many possibilities, I think you can go there every day for months and not get the same drink twice. The staff at Super Duck are very well-trained. All of them know a lot about tea, and can tell you which toppings go well with which tea. They are also very nice but leave you alone when you don’t want to be disturbed.I also like that they truly fill your drink – by this, I mean, when you order a drink with “less ice”, you still get a full cup’s worth, not half a cup because the ice is gone. The staff are trained well enough to know how to adjust the recipe amounts to accommodate your “less ice” or “no ice” requests. The food items are a new addition to the menu, but I was quite happy with the ones we got to try. The food was definitely a cut above other milk tea shops’, and the pizza could give that famous flat pizza restaurant a run for its money. All it needed was some alfalfa sprouts and arugula!I was also very impressed with the superior quality and level of the food, most unexpected from a milk tea shop! The dishes are also as healthy as they can make it – they avoid making it too salty, nor too sweet, they avoid processed ingredients, they use fresh oil, they use fresh ingredients as much as they can. This commitment to quality is something I rarely see in any commercial restaurant chain.Parking is available and free, the building has a guard so the place is quite safe. It is a good place to catch up with friends, to study, or to just eat, without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is casual enough that you won’t feel apprehensive bringing children, too. Even customers who need to be more careful with their health will find something good at Super Duck! If you find yourself near the area, definitely check out Super Duck!

Super Duck is a milktea brand in taiwan that specializes in tea based drinks. In just a glance in the menu, its overwhelming. It has different categories from tea based, fruit based, or milktea based, depending on your preference. We had an opportunity to try various drinks in their re-launch together with new food items in their menu.My favorite would be the tofu and sausage quackers. Quackers is their fried vegetarian snacks made from soy protein. It replicated the original feel/texture and taste of the item. The tofu quackers has a texture of a very light fishball and the sausage tastes like sausages but without the meat.Tropical Fruit QQ. It is mixed fruit based drink with chopped apples as the garnish. It tasted like four season juice without the red syrup (grenadine). Its sweet, fruity, citrusy mango, with added texture from the apples and qq jelly.Passion Fruit with Perilla. It is passion fruit juice with the perilla seeds. The taste pf the fruit refreshing with the sweet-sour taste of it. Its perfect for a summer day.Pearl Milk Tea. The black tea in this drink has a much stronger taste compared to other milktea brands that gives this drink a depth of flavor. For me this is the best tasting pearl milk tea. The balance of strong tea and milk gives harmony to the drink.Green Tea Heineken. Green tea mixed with Heineken beer. The balance of the floral green tea and the fruity-wheat flavor of the beer blends well. It tastes more like cali shandy (for the earlier generations.)The new sets of pastas we're good. Especially the meatballs in the spaghetti. I love the taste and texture of the faux meat balls. The pizza was the highlight for the food. Super thin crust that has a nice, crunchy texture, like a biscuit. I can eat the whole thing in one seating!!!:)Overall, the relaunching of the brand was a success. Great food and ambience, in the heart of D. Tuazon, is a rare find in the area. Super Duck for the win!!!#TheFoodCrawlers

My friend invited me for tea. So, she brought me here. I ordered Jasmine Coco Lychee Pearl Milk Tea (I think?). I love it! So creamy and refreshing. Also tried their tusok-tusok. Yummy!

Super Duck Modern Tea Shop is a simple unexpecting resto at the Banawe Area. Let me just start with, it never gets more authentic than that.Super Duck takes their tea very seriously. When you taste their tea you know its not processed flavoring, its actual Tea Leaves and Fruits infused. I really loved the Passion Tea and the Roasted Matcha. I also loved their Chori Burger, it tasted like a complete breakfast set becuase of the taste of the patty with egg and I love breakfast. What really impressed me though was the Spaghetti with Meatballs, it tasted good but what made it special was when I found out it was vegi friendly meaning there was no meat on it. The meatballs actually tasted like real meat but it was just made out of soy which was amazing. All in all, I loved and enjoyed authentic food with a very affordable price. Good Job Super Duck!

A place to treat yourself  with a delicious, health beneficial and refreshing authentic tea based summer cooler. Super Duck is a must visit place to eat, enjoy, relax and learn more about teas. They offer a wide variety of tea based drinks and food. One of the best I noticed from them is their very cute logo (the duck). I know it sounded weird but in Taiwan Super Duck really means “big brother”. This store is a  franchise from Lu Kang, Taiwan by food and best buddies Steven and Dennis. I admire them for having such great love and passion for their craft. Somehow it shows on the variety of food and drinks they serve to their guests.
