After a well deserved rest with the Cat Cafe upstairs, I decided to go check out Skewr. The place is simple yet beautiful, the food is cheap, and the food is well worth it.I didn't have a lot of space left, so I only had their Baba Ghanoush and Falafel. Both come with fresh garnishes and both were really easy munches. Their Baba Ghanoush had a perfectly soft, toasted eggplant with just the right amount of oil. It came with hot pita ready for dipping, and at 100 pesos, this is a steal. Their falafel is only 80 pesos, but I would easily pay more for it. The falafel is crispy and the chickpeas are mashed and spiced to perfection. I spent 180 pesos and I was satisfied, which says a lot considering how some food places are so expensive and disappointing. This is definitely something I would have as cheap comfort food if I lived near the area. Their menu is cheap and there are just a lot to try at prices from 80-220 pesos. I have no idea why this place has a low website review. The service is good, the food is cheap and amazing considering the price, the serving sizes are great, the wi-fi is functional and fast, and the place is just a good place to hang. The owner was in the area, she was friendly and wearing a 10 years in the business shirt. Well, no need for the shirt as the years of crafting cheap and good food show.Try this place when in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Last week, we attended the launch of Skewr, the latest food destination along Maginhawa St. in Quezon City. Skewr offers affordable, healthy, Mediterranean fusion cuisine – including popular favorites like shawarma, kebabs, rice and even pasta and yogurt shakes!. We started with the Pita Strips with Fire Feta (P80), crispy sticks of thin pita bread, brushed with butter, with a hot feta dip on the side.

If you love mediterranean cuisine, you surely love this restaurant. Tried Shawarma Pizza and cake. A 12" pizza good for 3-4person. The cake is sooooo yummy but quite expensive.

This restaurant has only been around a month, but the owners, siblings Bee Jay and Marlene Burog, have been in the food industry for over a decade already. It has been ten years since they first introduced Khaleb Shawarma to the country. Now, the brand has over 30 stalls nationwide. To celebrate their 10th year in the industry, the Burog siblings decided to open Skewr, a completely different concept from their first venture. Though their main offering may still be shawarma, their dishes have evolved from shawarma rice and chelo kebabs to pizzas, pastas, and more. The food is what one would call "Mediterranean fusion" - Mediterranean mixed with different cuisines like American and Italian.

We ordered the solo meals, the krab yaqla and the shish kebab. The krab was like a dumpling, but it does have real crab meat inside, and my boyfriend liked it. I kind of liked it better without the yogurt sauce because I can appreciate the crab, but it maybe a bit dry.The shish kebab was basically grilled chicken, nothing special. It was also actually a bit dry.We also ordered additional order of luleh kabab, which was ground beef and I liked it because it has its own spice, which was just right for me.The yogurt shake was also not bad for the price. I preferred the strawberry over the original yogurt, which I found too foamy and milky... though the strawberry reminded me of Dutch Mill strawberry yogurt (which I liked anyway hehe). The size was big, like a starbucks bottle.
